The dimensions on the 2019 version are the most accurate by far. I just wish they’d made it UCS; including a proper stand and plaque and printed elements on the cockpit.
The 2001 kit is fantastic, especially considering the age of the design, it has a few scale issues but it still looks great and was incredibly well designed for the time. Overall I’d probably pick the most recent one (need to see it in the bricks), but I still think the 2001 version is great in the history of Lego Star Wars kits.
I think the one thing the 2009 model has over all the others is the use of printed transparent pieces for the cockpit. Making the "cones" transparent but printing over them so that the front visor is see-through is really clever in my opinion. You can look in and the minifigures can look out.
Im actually getting a UCS tantive iv soon. I already have one from when I was a kid, but I'm going to add rooms and play features to my new one because I hate when the huge Lego sets have no interior

The first one love how the front has clear plastic window with nice flip open front to me as a kid back in the day I like propper windows rather than naff stickers
The reason Lego made the 2019 tantive with a stickered cockpit is because the 2009 one was transparent and gave it a lighter look which was not consistent with the other parts of the cockpit. Also I've realized to solve this problem Lego could've printed over the white cockpit. Anyway, great video sorry for the long comment.
The UCS and the 2019 are roughly the same length, but the UCS is “bulkier” thus making it look a bit stubby and Ive always thought the engines were way out of scale for the model compared to the movie model.
Hey Ryan, I know it's an older review and you might not see this comment but wondering if you are able to do a comparison of the all of these plus the new 2024 tantive coming out!
Sturmwind You can see the LEGO stamp on the pieces when he shows close ups.. Obviously not lepin. I bet this guy bought replacements off bricklink or he bought it incomplete and had to get pieces to finish it, and were slightly different.
Thanks for the video. I've been considering whether to buy the 2019 version, and I'm sold. I'm glad that the proportions are finally correct. That was the one things that stopped me from buying the previous two releases (although the UCS one is a fantastic model in its own right).
The 2019 one does it for me. I think it’s reasonably priced, has a pretty good piece count and it has really great updated mini figures. Also with the inclusion of Bail Organa added in, that makes the 2019 version that much better than the other two. Plus I like the size accuracy more with the 2019 version. Yes the 2001 one is massive and looks great for its time, but a LEGO Tantive iv shouldn’t be any bigger than a Star Destroyer. The upcoming UCS Imperial Star Destroyer (I’m 90% sure LEGO is gonna remake it, considering the Tantive iv rumor became true) is gonna be massive (it’s supposedly gonna have over 4,500 pieces). The 2019 Tantive iv will look really great size accuracy wise when stacked up next to the UCS Star Destroyer.
I used to like it but now that there’s something new and shiny I just can’t look at it the same way anymore. This is a quote that describes why I now like MCU more than starwars
The 2001 has the proportions of the CR70 Corvette which is featured in Ep 3. The 2019 has the proportions more fitting to a CR90, which is what the Tantive IV actually was. It would be really cool to see someone convert the '01 model into the CR70 from the film by swapping the red trim pcs to blue

The UCS one looks greatest obviously but the modern one is my favorite
When you do the design section, you should include movie accuracy
I love the 2001 set because of how it is made with more of the basic lego pieces and not the special lego pieces only for it. I just feel like it seems more L E G O
A new UCS version might be on the books as they are about re-release the UCS Star Destroyer.
The newest is my favorite.
_"Tan-tih-vee"_ is the pronounciation you're referring to (ˈtæntɪˌvi 'fɔ:r/).
Joseph Simpson Actually, “Tan-tivv” is a canon pronunciation as well as ATAT versus AT-AT. Star Wars is full of random crap and stuff like how you pronounce a word doesn’t mean anything.
2009 JUST BECAUSE IT HAS MORE FUN FEATURES(LIKE THE CART)
KOSTAS TZAFI Wow. A cart. So amazing
@@scarletspdstr_ yea, a cart, if you wanna get mad at someone liking a tiny lego cart, maybe you should reevaluate some of your life choices
9:56 is supposed to be like that, the other two are inaccurate.
@mandrproductions could you add a display category for if you just want to have it displayed on a shelf rather than like play with the set? This may fall into the design category but I don’t know.
I think they didn’t use a printed pease for the newer mobile it because it would look kinda like the solo falcon cop pit
