  • I've finally went to 64bit VPX setup... It turned out to be quite easy following this guide here: github.com/vpinball/b2s-backg...
    with little change from my side: Don't rename the DirectOutput folder to DirectOutput -x86 to avoid problems...
    and in addition to this guide, apply the pinup player beta x64 drivers prepared by Neilbuster here:
    nailbuster.com/pinupdates/Pin...
    Support the channel: buymeacoffee.com/allpinballfa...
    One hint from me after going to x64, if You have a table that uses Alt. soundmode = 2 (old Pinsound) then You'll need to run it in 32bit VPX or set it to Alt. Soundmode 1 or 0 in 32bit and then You'll be able to run it in 64bits without problem.
    Need more assistance going from 32 to 64bit ?

      Go for it! Tons of fun. The best way imho is to build one yourself. If You'll need some assistance, let me know.

    Hi Luc , Very interested to see your video re upgrading to 64 bit. I've tried a few times on my cab with varying results. I think my specific issue relates to the location of my B2S files. Using the guide you refer to above , Step 5 , there's a comment for Baller Installer users which reads , "For 🪩Installer Please keep the B2S files in the Tables folder"
    My question is , should I create a new folder for the B2S files \Visual Pinball\B2SServer , as the guide suggests or just overwrite the existing B2S files in the \Visual Pinball\Tables folder ?
    Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me nuts !!

    Fantastic video, thank you! I purchased the LG C2 after watching your videos and I am super amazed with its quality, so thank you for that reference. I currently have the TV come on with IR signal from my pinscape. I can't figure out how to turn it off when I press the PC power button, however. I have a script set to run in my local policy on shutdown, but it never runs when I press the PC power button to shut down. How did you get your TV to turn off? I'm thinking I need to set up another button that runs the TV off script then shuts the PC down, but I'd rather use the power button for both on and off instead of having two buttons.

      I have a combination of keys set up as "Turn off TV" so when I select shutdown in pinup popper I click that combination and TV turns off.

      @@AllPinballFanatic gotcha, thank you for the reply. I was trying to avoid having to go through software to shut down. I like pressing my PC power button to shut everything down. I guess I’ll keep hunting. Thanks again!

    Great video! Were you able to resolve the issue with 64-bit vpx where the PUP packs do not play for some tables (ROM tables)?

      I did, check out the video description - there is a link to a Nailbuster pup drivers for x64 (inside it there is a text file how to use it.)

    Thanks for the video. How do you keep your DMD and back LED matrix from reflecting on your playfield glass?

    • @AllPinballFanatic
      @AllPinballFanatic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a 1m86cm tall so I don't see a reflection of the dmd in the glass, if I were 15cm shorter then I would need to figure out something.

    But does 64-bit *play* any better than 32-bit?

    • @AllPinballFanatic
      @AllPinballFanatic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      VPX suffer from memory leaks, so if You play single table for a longer time or You have a very long game then it can run out of memory - crashing, freezing, loosing SSF sounds - it all happen to me with some newer, more demending tables... because 32bit VPX can use 4GB memory only. 64bit app can use a lot more.

      @@AllPinballFanatic Is anyone working on the memory leaks?

    • @AllPinballFanatic
      @AllPinballFanatic  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they are not, as there is new VPE in the works those memory leaks are probably not taken care off. Switching to 64bit makes it leak for a longer time before crashing than on 32bit thought ;)

      @@AllPinballFanatic is this the Unity Pinball I am hearing about?

    • @AllPinballFanatic
      @AllPinballFanatic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the new VPE is gonna be Unity, I hope there will be something playable at the end of this year in the new VPE, but we will see how's it's gonna go.
