I heard this in the car on CBC Radio 2 today. I immediately had to look it up when I got home. It's beautiful. Thank-you.
spectacular
When this video popped up, I've always had my attention to you, Mike as pretty-much perfectly established accordionist who mastered this incredibly sophisticated instrument. Everyone must note, when Mike is playing such LONG and slow accompany you cannot feel bellows when they contract or when they expand almost just like in the pipe organ! It takes a LOT of time and practice to master bellows with such perfection. DEFINITELY not every accordionist is as perfect as Mike -- seriously!
Wow, what an amazing pairing of instruments for this song, bravo!
What an incredible performance. My wife and I watched it tonight and not a word was spoken by her the entire run time. That never happens! 😂
Stunning. Especially the shoes and the dress. I’m guessing the left hand on the accordion was all played in free bass. Just too subtle for stradella. The original was for piano and violin, but of course is now more often heard in the orchestral arrangement. I think the accordion gives more sustain in the accompanying chords, which suits the piece better than the piano, yet allows an intimacy of touch which the orchestra cannot achieve. If you ever record this I shall be queuing up for a copy.👍🏻❤
Dayam! With that hodgepodge of buttons on that accordion, it is remarkable that Michael Bridge can play anything!
Your lack of knowledge of the chromatic button accordion is exceeded only by your apparant lack of logic - something in which that instrument excels.
@@DrakeN-ow1im Dayam, I was complementing Michael Bridge on his mastery of the instrument, and got a slap in the face for that!
