The Lark has been my favourite piece of music for over 40 years now and this was a novel version. Elena's performance was sublime (ranked amongst the very best performances I've heard). The choir were also excellent but I couldn't help thinking that 'forcing' the words of the poem into the choral part didn't work, becoming in many ways a distraction from an otherwise beautiful performance. Maybe it will grow on me the more I listen to it.
