I started bawling listening to this. This song reminds me of my grandpa and describes him to a T. He's my hero and the one who has taught me everything I know. This song also reminds me of myself and the lifestyle I love. It's so sad knowing the cowboy is dying and the lifestyle is being forced back. Everyone who is a rancher, farmer, or country lover should hear this song.
Its truly sad when people like country thats on the radio like taylor swift, hunter hayes, band perry etc. when this is what real county is and is what it stands for. having a truck doesnt make you country or listening to the "country radio" its a lifestyle. im glad people like country music more now a days but this is what should really be on the radio. its simply true talent in paul and singing about what everyone wants to be but few have ever lived. Paul thank you for singing great music i hope to hear mor from you in the future.
Ya dude... there is a huge difference between being country... and being a cowboy... out here where im from all these folk to to be country and forget their cowboy roots... we do things way different out here in the west
ELK STALKER6,1 funny things is, i dont even know any of those people you mentioned. i only know the REAL country, like this, and furthermore, i dont like all the crap that people now days call music.
What a beautiful palomino. Lord, I wouldn't want for another thing in this life if I could only get a peice of land that can sustain a handful of cattle, and a good horse under me...Till then, nothing will ever be enough. Just got to keep on workin' like a workin man do.
True song to anyone in ranching, cowboying, or farming all over the world. from the nights that have no end waiting on cows to calf, ewes to lamb, or combines to roll on, through to the days when it cant get any hotter. we may never get rich, but by god, we are rich in so many other ways
Amen to that brother i might be a young buck with a little 22acor patch of hevin but i got my hurd of angus and sharlay i got my chickens and a good dog and the love of my wife and a truck to help keep the work going i aint rich but thare aint no better life for me no matter how much money is in my acount
this is the best song ivee ever heard. it was a torched passed on to myself growing up on a horse a cattle farm and i also will pass it on. great song!!
That is the BEST country song i`ve heard in years... it rings so true i cant say it enough idk anything about paul bogart or where he is from but whoever wrote that song knows what its like to work your ass off for your family and never stop even in the negative 20 degrees to the 120 degree hay loft. very good song
Yeahhhh... Chris Ledoux is certainly showing a big smile on his face upstairs!!! Finaly one more great artist to keep the line of brave cowboys singers! Keep working like this, Paul!!!!! You made a preatty good job!!!!
You know your treasure lies over that next rise; just keep on riding west. Seriously the most perfect song... Story of my life... and I hope I will always be able to carry the torch I've been handed.
An amazing artist with a great voice! Saw him play this last weekend and he came off stage on a break to visit with us. He puts so much heart into the music and is a genuinely nice person. Can't share his work enough and I hope to see him perform again!!
years ago, i had the chance to work with a friend who owned a ranch in Idaho and i went to help with the herd. by the time i got back home to SLC, i was pretty worn out but it was the best time i ever had in my life. that's the one time where i felt like everything fit like a glove (pardon the pun). if i had to do it all over again, i would have gone after that kinda life after i finished school...i woulda been a lot happier with my surroundings and way of life, to be sure.
You ain't much on crowds But you're at home in a heard You love the feel of good leather And a jingle in them Spurs There are days that you wonder Why you do what you do But it's torch that you were handed Not just a lifestyle that you choose You were born to carry on Hot 'n' tired and dusty and cold to the bone Through the wind and rain and lightning Through the blowin' snow Sitt tall in that saddle If you tired ache You were born to carry on So carry on the cowboy way In the morning you cuss And swear your getting old When you saddle up and leave that barn You'll be riding that new coup You don't trade stock on wall street That ain't where you invest You know you treasure lies Over that next right Just keep on riding west Hot 'n' tired and dusty And cold to the bone Through the wind and rain and lightning Through the blowin' snow Sit tall in that saddle if you tire ache You were born to carry on So carry on the cowboy way You were born to carry on So carry on the cowboy way
anyone can be a cowboy/cowgirl, its not about being lucky enough to be "handed the torch" its about working hard and being yourself and being honest, humble, and loving GOD and one woman. its about being willing to break your back to take care of your family. having a true pride that allows you to still ask for help when you NEED it but also be able to help those in need. its not just about owning a farm/ranch or cattle and horses. being a cowboy is a personality not just a way of life
Sometimes, it isn't land and cattle you inherent from your family. Sometimes God hands you the tortch and puts it in your heart to graze cattle to heal the land.
A beautiful voice along with a nice composition.........really liked this track........I am from India and have always had something for this kind of music.......all the best to you and keep on rockin' in the free world........
being a cowboy aint about riding horses or herding cows its away of life being ur own man taking the lead and not being a follower i thank the man up above for wild horses and the cowboy way of life i treasure the way of life that i have grown fond of and thats the cowboy way of life its not about boots or hats its how ya live and yall take it easy im taking a camping trip and for the fellow cowboys out there sit tall in the saddle and hold ur head up high
The difference between Country Music and Western Music is that in Country you sing about loving you best friend's wife; in Western Music you sing about loving your best friend's horse.
I was born into generations of farming too. Lived out in the middle of nowhere all my life and when i went off to school i moved to town...im talking little square town of 600 people tops. There are kids here who are like "oh my god we are drinking well water!" and im still processing that there are street lights and that i can see my neighbors house lol It is definately about how you treat people too and manners that really separated farm kids from city kids You're right they cant match it..
I love this song and the video. I think its great that you showed fixing fence, bcs there's a lot more to being a cowboy than just riding a horse. Thanks for this. Makes me homesick tho...
I love this song I havent heard it in a long time, its making me want to go ride right now, I wish I could but im in the hospital! its been so long since I have ridden but I cant wait to get back to riding and working at the barn!
this is just a wonderful video and song, i am glad that i am a farmer cause when i get up in the morning to help my pa i swear but i know i wouldnt have it any other way. i know i put in some 16 and 18 hour days, but its the only life to have.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels like I was born on the wrong side of the fence. I was raised in Ga. but thinkin about moving out to Arizona or Wyoming
Love your tunes. Have been a fan since 2008/ 2009, this was the first song of yours I stumbled across while sitting in my landscape design and greenhouse class working on an assignment in high school lol. Your music Hits that "bone" that reminds me of the life style i was brought up in but was never fully tought. And this being the life i keep trying to build around but even though money hinders my ability to keep that life style (money has also caused the inability to grew up in 100% )due to the sad truth of it being expensive to do even though its a simple life to lead. Your music brings me back to the roots that are deep with in myself and keep me pushing through alot of struggles. Thank you for that. Keep the music coming, and i hope that I can catch a show if you're ever close enough to WI to do so. :)

Love Paul Bogart's voice...

William Beattie couldn't of put it any better. The farm life is the best life.

Paul is the real deal!
this song was my granddad's favorite song and was played for his slideshow at his funeral
That is the BEST country song i`ve heard in years... it rings so true i cant say it enough idk anything about paul bogart or where he is from but whoever wrote that song knows what its like to work your ass off for your family and never stop even in the negative 20 degrees to the 120 degree hay loft. very good song

Amazing voice and song. It is nice to hear true country once again. Please keep true to the roots of true country music.
hat's off to you. this is a fine piece of work
I met Paul at Connors State College, he sang with the college band-----I thought he would make it big--and I told him so. Quite a success story.
An amazing artist with a great voice! Saw him play this last weekend and he came off stage on a break to visit with us. He puts so much heart into the music and is a genuinely nice person. Can't share his work enough and I hope to see him perform again!!

What a song! Im proud to be a cowboy"! Arriba Chihuahua Northern México and Tx

Just a phenomenal voice for true country music!!
You ain't much on crowds
But you're at home in a heard
You love the feel of good leather And a jingle in them Spurs
There are days that you wonder Why you do what you do
But it's torch that you were handed
Not just a lifestyle that you choose
You were born to carry on
Hot 'n' tired and dusty and cold to the bone
Through the wind and rain and lightning
Through the blowin' snow
Sitt tall in that saddle
If you tired ache
You were born to carry on
So carry on the cowboy way
In the morning you cuss
And swear your getting old
When you saddle up and leave that barn
You'll be riding that new coup
You don't trade stock on wall street
That ain't where you invest
You know you treasure lies
Over that next right
Just keep on riding west Hot 'n' tired and dusty
And cold to the bone
Through the wind and rain and lightning
Through the blowin' snow
Sit tall in that saddle if you tire ache
You were born to carry on
So carry on the cowboy way
You were born to carry on
So carry on the cowboy way
From the desert’s son to the cowboys
God bless you and bless everyone
Beautiful song ♡
it was my destiny to become a cowboy, after fifty years i made it!
Awesome! I was born in a saddle, lol but glad ya made your dream!
That is so cool! Where did you become one at? Did it take awhile to learn how to ride?
