I swear he's the most underrated artist of all time I straight up cry every time I hear his music because I know I'll never see him in concert that would be a dream come true, he's my favorite artist and always will be
@@joshuabrooks4907 I spent a couple Summers on my aunt's oil/cattle ranch in Oklahoma, steering bull calves & chasing the herd on a kawasucki dirt bike ("We're MODERN cowboys! No need for horses anymore.")
The imagery in all of Chris LeDoux’s songs is fantastic, but this one is extra special. It feels like I’m there. I can almost “smell the sulfur” and “feel the Longhorns brush against me”. Love the ending!
Yeah. I remember back in the 90s, there was something written by a music citic talking about how Chris's songs can really make you feel like he IS the character who's singing. And with him having been a rodeo rider, he had much authenticity with such songs. It's rare, but not impossible to find similarly real feeling artists nowadays. Every so often, there's a resurgence of that type of music. It will never die out fully.
Not all of Chris's songs are upbeat in overall tone. But that's life and Chris very much sung about life. He's got many that are feel good songs, too. He's the guy who a lot of artists wanted (and still do want) to be. He brought an authenticity to his music that someone who's had a more posh life can't do.
I fell in love with this song as a kid, and for years I just couldn't find it as it was on a compilation cd owned by someone else.... Right now, today I found it again... and MAN! Does it still KICK ASS without any favors!
As a guy who has worked the job... old Chris is probably the only one who can make me say yep that mans a real cowboy! Kind of like putting together an authentic song... sometimes it's not the chords or the melody... sometimes it's the tone!
Bought my first Chris tape from him sitting around listening to Chris play sitting on the tail gate after a Rodeo many years ago. Bout every cassette he put out, and it always takes me back to that rodeo, that night just Him and his guitar and a bunch of cowboys.
One of the greatest songs ever & great video production to go with it.Thanks,Chris, for all the cowboy music & the cowboy way of life that needs to be preserved
Pois é Carlos, eu também curto muito as música do Chris, que pena que ele não está mais aqui entre nós, grande cowboy e uma das mais lindas vozes da country music. R.I.P CHRIS!!
The closest I came to living this video was when I fell off some barges on the Mississippi River and saw them coming towards me. Neither Mark Spitz or Michael Phelps could have caught me swimming clear that night.

I just love Chris. I bet todays "country singers" couldn't have spent a minute in his boots. Most underrated singer ever in my opinion.
Chris and Ned are 100% Top 5 underrated singers.
So true
Especially remembering that he was a working Cowboy and pro rodeo competitor. Gotta love Chris.
We loved him long before Garth found him...I am glad Garth did...But Chris was gonna make it alone with out "G. BROOKS".
He was the best!
Completely unmatched
Rest In Peace there's one hell of a cowboy in heaven
And that big rodeo in the sky
There's one less tornado in Texas

Ned is his son following his music career, and he is awesome in concert.
This cowboy lived his songs
True
Yep
Yes he did
why the hell does this song only have 1,277 views? it is such a great song, performed by a legend! RIP.
it's the tragedy these days
It has 420k now
12 years later now it has 441k but is still underrated

Anyone that's ever dealt with cattle knows that the only thing to be afraid of when dealing with them is a stampede.

Went to one of his concerts, best concert I ever went to. We were dancing in the isles and singing right along with him. Great man and music

FOREVER AND ALWAYS CHRIS FAN!!
He was what Garth, aldean, and the others wished they could be!
Garth admitted he borrowed Chris' style. Mr Ledoux had the greatest stage show ever. I threw at least a dozen cans of Cope on his stage.
