Raves are the only place I ever see a crowd and no one has their phone out these days. The culture is still there. It's just much harder to find a proper rave.
I was single digits. Discovered this era of rave around the turn of the millennium at the age of about 14/15. If only I'd have been born a few years earlier.... But still, this music is timeless and I'm currently in the process of introducing my 4 year old niece to it. Boom!
Too young at 16 ?? I started raving in 94 when i was 16 had no trouble getting into the raves. You should of gone mate you missed out there. I used to go innersense at lazerdrome everyweek no one got asked for i d.
Real rave, real underground. DJs and producers were building their names with their work not forced marketing. People went to parties to have a good time not to tag themselves for social media and show their outfits.
YOU HAD TO BE THERE TO GET AND TO FEEL IT THE MUSIC WAS GOOD THE PILLS WERE GOOD THE PEOPLE WERE OUTSTANDING AND YOU COULD TRUST PEOPLE BACK THEN WISH IT BWAS LIKE THAT NOW ADAYS BIG RESPECT TO THE RAVE CREW FROM 1992 THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
I'm a 2000 kid and it think I'm the only one who wanted to live 10-20 years earlier. Idfc about smartphones. Gimme some fcking shit, some good music, some nice people and I'm happy. Would've loved to witness love parade and Co myself 😕
@allanlister3322 ur comment don't make sense.....the rave scenewas the 90s ffs durrrrr. ..88_95 best years ever ....i also adore the late 60s and all of the 70s were FIRE 🔥
There's lots of new good tracks available like stuff by Total Science, Technimatic, Sully, Fixate, Sam Bing, Sinister, Heist, Mark System, Tim Reaper, Dwarde, Kid Lib, Paradox, Equinox, but sometimes are hard to find because of all the unnecessary subgenre.
Had it good? Hell yeah, we fucked up a whole generation of kids man. They never left the ere, we all still liive it daily and come back here to top up! lol. Man, you missed it... best times I ever had, I miss it so much.
@Cat Hill The previous two posts were a nod to the fact the initial comment's user name is rogermellie1969. Roger Mellie "The man on the telly" is a comic book character from Viz magazine and one of his quotes is "Hello, good evening, and bollocks".
I was the loneliest raver on planet in 92, 11-12 years old and going of my head in my bedroom, used to get all the newest tapes off my older mate from down the road, got my energy from the sugar on my cornflakes.👍... great video.❤️🙏💪
scott forsyth I’m sure there are dozens or more people reading this that can relate. I know I can! It was so frustrating having to listen to raves on the radio (Dream FM, etc) or weeks later when borrowing a tape pack from older friends who had been there. I only got my fake ID when I was 15 (1996] and by then this scene had died out. Luckily I was around and clubbing at the start of the UK garage movement and that was also magical. ✌️
Yup, right there with you on this. I had the fortune of having an old Record Player/Tape Deck/Radio tuner unit in my room. Countless memories of listening to all sorts of radio golds and recording to the tape deck. Parents would go out to these kind of nights every now and then. So when they did I got excited, because it meant I could sit in my room away from babysitter and at the time annoying younger brother and record off the radio and bop along! The irony being that I had no real clue that my folks were actually going out to party to it! 1991 - 92 I was 11/12 years old.
Same here mate. Born in 1983 I missed the actual raves but got all the tapes from my mate at primary school's sister. My time was 2000-2006, got to see all the legends at old skool reunion nights even though by then hard house and hard trance were a big part of my life too.
can't believe how much time has passed and i remember it like it was yesterday. i miss the freedom of youth, it was such an epic time to be around. thanks for the memories
I just want to say a MASSIVE thanks to all of you that have taken time to watch this video I made back in 2011, and for all the lovely comments too! I'm chuffed it has brought back so many great memories for a lot of you :) I've also made a 1991 Rave one too if you haven't seen it yet - th-cam.com/video/BS92uRvtHEg/w-d-xo.html Big love to all of you and keep the vibe alive! Faydz X
Best times ever the 90s sadly today's music isnt anything like back then today's teens dont know what they really missed I'm 42 and grew up with all these amazing tunes a big thankyou for putting these classics together brings back a lot of good memories
I loved all these tunes in 92, when I was in my early 20's, and raving constantly. Unfortunately, I have heard them all about 10 gazillion times now, and I can't play them anymore. Thankfully, there are tens of thousands of other oldskool tunes, that haven't been rinsed to death, and I play those instead.
I enjoyed the 88-89 Acid House era, and then the 90-93 Rave era to the maximum, having been a DJ since 1980, and still DJ to this day. While I loved most of the tunes in this mix back in the day, I find I can't listen to them nowadays, as I have heard them so many 1000's of times. Fortunately, there were about 30,000 other tunes released, which haven't been 'rinsed to death', 'caned', 'hammered', and plain killed. I urge ravers to go on a journey of discovery, get yourself on Discogs, look through all the labels, and start collecting the tunes which were NOT anthems, because it will open up a whole new world to you.
These were such magical times. I’m glad I got to experience it all, but a bit sad to see how different the world is now in such a relatively short period of time.
Excellent work, love this music. I was 16 when these songs came out, I'm now 45, thanks so much for the nostalgia, these were the best of times, happy times without a care in the world.
No your wrong it's better now, you can go to different Marches and virtue signal with a banner. Just think how great it would be if you could have missed all that shite, and been young now, you could shout scream and virtue signal for BLM, LGBTQ. Non binary people. Transgendered kids. Theres a whole smorgasbord of causes you can get indignant about. And I bet when your 50 and its 2070 and you have no Halcyon days of nostalgia to get you through hard times, just memories of a waste youth moaning and winging about how offended you are, you wont want to kill yourself, because you would still live at home with your parents and they an give you a cuddle.
A j a perfect reply mate and your bang on. I said only the other day to a friend about the differences of them and now. I probably didn’t even know who the prime minister was back then. I didn’t care about what colour anyone was, if you were a dick you were a dick if you were alright you were alright. Never heard of climate change or any kind of activism. Life was just for living. These young people today have no idea what life could be like for them if they just tried to live it. 👍👍👍👍
Back in '92 I was too young for this scene... quietly waiting for my turn. 1998 to 2005 I hit the scene super hard. Pills by the bucketful. Crazy all nighters, lost weekends. Now life is quite.
I was there during this time, parties going on everywhere, it was an amazing moment,, well about 6 ish years of my life!!!! Still got cassettes with original mixes on from this, and still have moments to this day. I think once something has been such a pivotal part of your life, it never leaves you!!! Thanks for the memories!! 😁
PAULIE FPV Every year it gets more proliferant. Look around now, you’ve got all those ravers who are now adults, most of them still smoking and taking coke casually. Then you’ve got their kids, taking all sorts of stuff. As time goes on more people take drugs. The 90s was good, it’s a treasure, but the past is the past. Onwards and upwards.
@@mrdjr6544 have to disagree with that. Drug use has come down, look at the faces of young people at Tomorrowland etc then compare it to those vids from the 80s/90s raves.
Just had a J.. don't know how I got here. Don't know how to get out but bouncing round like a very bouncy ball now, rifts smacking my consciousness to all the places and people that I've danced to all these tunes with. So much love and excitement in this year. Such bloody good tunes! Thanks x
1992 was the best year of my life, 17 years old in Wigan and living in the moment with not a care in the world. Pier every Friday and Legends on a Saturday. The world was a much better place back then. Hard to believe it's 28 years ago.
did they play hardcore like this in the US ? I always thought you guys liked detroit techno ?? I must add dutch techno was harder and......... well .....just..... better😎 made american stuff sound daft .... apart from Lenny D !!! he had it going on 😎
WOW! sat watching with goosebumps. Absolutely mint times the early nineties. Still got the passion even after 30 years, from a 47 year old raver, thank you DJ Faydz.......
I'm 55 been on here a few years never seen this b4 wow the work what's gone in to this amazing take my hat of to you sir wow memory lane for me tears and a smile at the same time
These tunes have such a spirit and energy. I can't put my finger on it but the production value sounds organic and not cold and surgical like today's tunes.
it was all made with analog gear back then. it had more of a warmth compared to computer made music. 90s was the golden age. my absolute favorite is 96-2001 progressive house and drum and bass. prodigy, chemical bros, the crystal method, orbital, underworld still did live shows at their peak. no cell phones in the crowd. good times.
Oh wow. Makes me feel my age but makes me feel brand new again. Back when music had soul and community. Plenty of random people dancing in harmony. Back when we had innocence and a freer sense of 'freedom'. Back before mobile phones and social media. And long before social lockdowns. Ahh, the good ol' days!!!
Wow, so many memories....left me feeling melancholic. The days when 2's were enough to keep you going all night. Proper MDMA. The crap they're taking now you can take 20 of the damn things. lol.
One of my favourite tracks I always thought it was a female singer on Run Tings - Fires Burning but the lyrics are samples from MidWay - Set It Out, also an excellent song.
Nonsense screaming tears of indignant rage about a bloke I never met called george, and trying to topple a statue, with a hysterical middle class ugly pig faced leftist student is much better than your 1992 raving, I even went back to hers and slept on the floor as her Chad boyfriend came round, I think he was choking her during sex, funny that as she said she was a feminist? Greatest days of my life!! 1992 indeed tut tut tut...
Started with Electro one then early house, then rave, them German techno, American Garage and Disco House. At the grand age of 49 I still have my 1210’s ...... DJ Faydz absolute legend bringing this stuff back with incredible skills on the ones and twos...🔊🔊
It was still 11 years too early of me being born. You guys had mad raves. And wicked music. I love jungle so much and hate the current mainstream ‘dance’
Jodie Reddington I was mainly brought up on trance, also a genre I love. Jungle was something I stumbled across one day by accident, and I’m glad I did
All those memory's flooding back. I was there at the very Beginning, almost a Year and Half before It got to the General Populace. Mark and Chris lived just down the road from Me. And I was doing Mobile Disco's then, They bought along some tracks they had been working on for Me to play. I loved the Detroit sound anyway so that Is probably why they asked Me. They were called Nexus 21 at that Point. That Is where It all started, Just pulling up to a Closed down factory cranking the doors open setting up and just playing all night. It started to go round about this new thing Detroit Rave, shortened to just Rave when the Media and the Radio Stations got hold of It. It was Illegal Warehouse party's at first. I still have the Records that were played here on the video and more all signed by everyone that attended those early days. Just Heavenly and never get them back I do Vintage Video Mobile now. But If they want to Rave, I'll just switch the Switch on and be 18 all over again and Rave the F**k out of the room. Top One, Nice One, Get Sorted!, Go Mental In The House. You Know The Score.
Unbelievable 7 minutes. During these troubling times, music truly is an antidote. Big up, DJ Faydz! My jaw aches and I could have sworn I was hallucinating.
The 90s a journey I had so many experiences I lost count but you're never gonna see full generation out there middle of no where with all ur troops on a mission snowballs at the ready that golden ticket in your hand feeling the bass and u no ur nearly on that journey into a mind fuck of a night rip too ma boys who never got to see where the music took us for bless and that old skill saying rave to the grave and a big respect to all the promoters bringing back the memories t c to all who made it happen !!!!!!! Hoppy fae bonhill oi oi
1992 was for me the best year in scene for top drawer tunes they kept coming thick and fast I was a raver from 91 to 94 what a time I had thanks for the memories sir 🙌🏻
WOW ,these tune boy,BEST TIME OF MY YOUTH IN LONDON,was a foreign student but met with the rite people from North, east west London, respect to them people they made it an unforgettable moment, yess still got some tunes on vynyl still over 30 years. Its ALVINSA from Mauritius 89-93.MASSIVE respect to the crew. London is the kicking place, went to other eu countries not the same.
What a belter video mate, looking back at these times almost brings me to tears. tips hat big time and a blinding track list, how good was Sub Base though💫👌🏼 thanks for memories man,

Quality video, shame it’s not 3 hours long!

I was 21 in 92
88-94 what a time to be alive
Exactly. I danced all those years! So much fun
No mob. and smart phones. Everybody is dancing. Those were days.
Phones destroyed society mate tragic!
Raves are the only place I ever see a crowd and no one has their phone out these days. The culture is still there. It's just much harder to find a proper rave.
@@thomasyates3078 Germany is still very much like that. Berlin, Köln, Karlsruhe has a great scene. People just go to dance
141 tunes in 7 minutes and it flows. That is an achievement.
Here Here my old friend
I was 16, too young for raves but old enough to have a walkman and a bunch of mixtapes!
Th3OmegaPoint you weren't too young! I was 16 and 4 days. Raves let you in pubs didn't.
I went to my first Acid House party in 1988 i was 14 , youre never too young to rave

Yes, unlike this video.
The real raves are still exactly the same. I'm always struck that parties are now the only place you never see people with their phones out.
Well said 💯👍👌

There's lots of new good tracks available like stuff by Total Science, Technimatic, Sully, Fixate, Sam Bing, Sinister, Heist, Mark System, Tim Reaper, Dwarde, Kid Lib, Paradox, Equinox, but sometimes are hard to find because of all the unnecessary subgenre.
HOLY BALLS!!! Nice to see an awesome channel I'm subscribed to loves this music

tinylilmatt wankers not a propa raver
Where has time gone. Feel sorry for the young generation of today when you compare the era we had🙂
can't believe how much time has passed and i remember it like it was yesterday. i miss the freedom of youth, it was such an epic time to be around. thanks for the memories
Absolutely banging times back then...... just turned 50 and I still have a couple of old skool nights every month in the house....

Kids nowadays don't know what they're missing!! Best days ever the 90's 😜🤑🤪😝🎤🎵😇🥰 Bring back the raves man ✌✌👌😳😮🥰🥰💙💙
I loved all these tunes in 92, when I was in my early 20's, and raving constantly.
Unfortunately, I have heard them all about 10 gazillion times now, and I can't play them anymore.
Thankfully, there are tens of thousands of other oldskool tunes, that haven't been rinsed to death, and I play those instead.
1992-1994 were the best years for the rave scene, in my opinion.
So so glad & proud to of been a part of this amazing time ❤

I wish i could have experienced this. Seems a lot more relaxed than today. I want to produce this dance sound.

1990,91,92 we're amazing years for raving 👫✌️ WHITE DOVE capsules 👌
I was there during this time, parties going on everywhere, it was an amazing moment,, well about 6 ish years of my life!!!! Still got cassettes with original mixes on from this, and still have moments to this day. I think once something has been such a pivotal part of your life, it never leaves you!!!
Thanks for the memories!! 😁
They say the 60s were the drug years...id say the 90s topped them tbh 😁😎
PAULIE FPV Every year it gets more proliferant. Look around now, you’ve got all those ravers who are now adults, most of them still smoking and taking coke casually. Then you’ve got their kids, taking all sorts of stuff. As time goes on more people take drugs. The 90s was good, it’s a treasure, but the past is the past. Onwards and upwards.
The 90s was just the 60s upside down mate........
@@mrdjr6544 not to mention that the human population is growing quite radiply
@@mrdjr6544 have to disagree with that. Drug use has come down, look at the faces of young people at Tomorrowland etc then compare it to those vids from the 80s/90s raves.
David Erlstoke that would be backwards and upside down, if you turn 60 upside down it makes 90 with a backwards 9
Just had a J.. don't know how I got here. Don't know how to get out but bouncing round like a very bouncy ball now, rifts smacking my consciousness to all the places and people that I've danced to all these tunes with. So much love and excitement in this year. Such bloody good tunes! Thanks x

So many AWESOME tunes in this mix!!! I'm glad I lived threw this era, it has such a special place in my heart!!!
This music and these beats have been copied but never matched. Real creativity, I was 13. These tunes are imprinted in my brain for life.

If only we turn back time,, ild do it all again, care free and total harmony best days of growing up
These tunes have such a spirit and energy. I can't put my finger on it but the production value sounds organic and not cold and surgical like today's tunes.
It's a rawness that only comes when something new is being created, you can't replicate the energy of creation.
TheHypernaught It really was a different era. Rough and in your face, with lots of feeling, that was the sound.
it was all made with analog gear back then. it had more of a warmth compared to computer made music. 90s was the golden age. my absolute favorite is 96-2001 progressive house and drum and bass. prodigy, chemical bros, the crystal method, orbital, underworld still did live shows at their peak. no cell phones in the crowd. good times.
Now in 2017 its all rap crap which I cant understand what theyre on about!
I'm pretty sure it was all digital
Well said,so glad I lived it large back then

One of my favourite tracks I always thought it was a female singer on Run Tings - Fires Burning but the lyrics are samples from MidWay - Set It Out, also an excellent song.
Been after that title for ages cheers. I had the 12 inch in 1992 and forgot about it.
As I read "keep the fires burning Baby" the mix reached that point.... Surreal!!

The Ratty intro from 1991/1992 NYE will forever be a classic. Nice sampling there the Faydz!
Greatest days of my life...

Shivers down thd spine and a trip down memory lane for me to Sterns!
Absolutely an amazing time. So Cal here!
Oh I love how that piano sounds! It never gets old!
Unbelievable 7 minutes. During these troubling times, music truly is an antidote. Big up, DJ Faydz! My jaw aches and I could have sworn I was hallucinating.
