Im 43 mate. I was just little to young. Had probably 4 mix tapes per year he did back in the day. He innovated, and best bit i liked he didn't really get those bad mcs over the top. Time machine would be handy. One love😂 unity.
Putting a bit of card in bottom of tape to record over some commercial cack. Hope slipmatt has a big mansion and has easy enjoyable lifestyle. He brought all the fun. Would be as big as any artists nowadays easily. One love dude. Still keep the rave alive 😁
The godfather of hardcore, old skool will never die, 50 & still love this scene, still rave around the front room, great tunes, great people & great memories, the time when raves were raves, all love by everyone, these nowadays don’t have a clue about raving

The reason for that is this was the very early days way back, late 80s, early 90s , this type music, electronic dance music was all very new, very different and exotic to people and was mainly underground. And you had the XTC mdma which was very pure and genuine. The era was very different from today , different vibe, buzz and not taking nastalga into consideration here but all things ware just genuinely better back then than they are now.
53 years old and still remember the real mixers.. Trust me! SlipMatt was one of the elitest Masters... If you are my age, and was a serious raver, you'll know ♥️🙌🏼✌🏻

What a mix, had and still have several Dreamscape tapes of Slipmatt that I used to listen to at highschool on my Walkman. Was always a bit young to go to actual raves (was 14 or so when I started getting into this music at high school) but the love for it has never left. ❤
Love Slipmatt the DJ legend and an idol of that era ❤ this is a great set! Captures the feeling of that golden era! Takes me back to Bagleys warehouse, King’s Cross where he used to DJ and the whistle posse were absolutely in the house!! 🙌👍😊🎧
Saw the man called Slipmatt for the first time at a Mansion House party 'Regression' pony tail, gold chain, bracelet and sovereign ring playing a slamming vinyl track possibly original bad boy what a legend I had my little time in the sun thanks to the godfather of rave and that experience peace to you brother Respect to the VIP vinyl posse
I had to go to school from 88 to 93 but we got all the cassette tapes from the older crew BUZZING!! Ide play the tunes in the piano room on a lunchtime Gutted i wasnt a couple of years older I missed out on the biggest cultural revolution of the 20c Hardcore will never die
I'm 60, and still enjoy listening to this while cycling, the last time I saw Matt was at the Aquarium in the late 90's. Lucton boys school, oh the horrible memories.
Wow I’m 62 now and I used to do all the outdoor rave in hidden places in Omaha Nebraska . At the gym now and still listening to rave all day long . Best of times for me . All that Raving kept me in shape up to now . Inject it with a poison
Summer '92. Best year for hardcore. Also the year I started raving 14 going on 15! I went down the Jungle / DnB route, but love oldschool hardcore! The 90s were banging!
These tunes inspired a whole generation & dance culture.. back in late 80s breakin has basically died off.. but through the hip hop oriented breakbeats, techno , house in the early years brought it back, it brought the B-boy out in me.. by 93 the dancing cyphers were insane.. this mix, for me brings incredible memories.. amazing, thank you!! Still dancing strong, I’m 49 years old ❤
64 year old, thanks for this ace mix my man, tape of similar favourite mix chewed up long long ago!Yeah 30 year olds also raved back in those fantastic euphoric days !!😁🥰
Picked up my kids from school the other day after doing some MDMA all night, first time since 96. Pulling gurns infront of the mums - holding it down. You never lose your Hardcore

Saw SL2 play at Keele a few weeks back and they made the night! I saw a bloke with a home printed Slipmatt t-shirt saying "The Godfather". He should seriously get that put out on eBay. Quality dedication to the man behind the decks. The energy and enthusiasm these DJs had for the music in their set was infectious... even after all these years. Watching DJs absolutely loving it as they are playing shows the passion they have for their art. SL2 were up there with the very best both now and then. When you look at how many tracks they have made and produced themselves it shows you could have a top set just from their own back catalogue. Hardcore legends.
