I’ve been on crutches for almost 4 months now (super bad ankle/leg break) and this is the best how to video I’ve come across. I couldn’t figure out going upstairs without a railing, thank you so much!
I had to figure so much of this on my own. At the hospital they just handed me the crutches and there were no instructions attached that I grew to despise crutches particularly with one leg non-weightbearing but now I am comfortable with them.
I have had to use crutches on and off quite a bit due to a knee problem that up until recently, they had no idea what was. Never once have I saw or heard that your arms need to be straight. Your arm is supposed to be at a small bend. Or at least that's how my doctor's showed and my physical therapists as well.
I remembered using a walker going up on a curb that I went up forward. Even using on these steps towards a restaurant. The steps are small steps only 3. It was easy for me to do. I notice someone was parked in the handicap spot on the passenger side that I want to get out. My father did parked in a normal spot. I used my walker on the stairs going up. I did manage to go up.
Those crutches in the demo seem to be uneven, the one on the lady's right (left as you look at it) is lower than the other one and both seem too low for this case.
thank you for this video. much appreciated, now i understand it better. this was a big help for my upcoming exam. thank you very much for posting this.
Iv got limb girdle muscular dystrophy and it's got to the point were I can't walk my left leg is really bad I need something that is high enough for me to lean on 'my back needs to be locked as well so these walkers won't work 'you need strength for all of these things what happens now ?
I went from 50% weight bearing to none weight bearing in a boot after ORIF TI/ FIB . I just got on with it ditched the crutches no cane used , walking normally except for the boot . looks like you must come across some real wimps in your practice
This is very use ful..but i want know abt the gaits..

very very useful demonstratin
Too cheap to film a video about using a walker with stairs? Wow. FAIL!
Walking with one foot
Don't forget that you are putting weight on the cane instead of your bad foot/leg. That is not mentioned.
Why you not showing how to go up and down the stairs without weight bearing
I wish I’d seen this video couple of months ago!
THANK YOU for showing the bad foot with a bandage on it.
few mistakes...but ok
Those crutches are too low, wrong.
Shouldve shown how to adjust height for crutches. Axillary pads were way too low

So, everyone's situation is the same as yours? You are just making yourself look stupid.
