I'm way younger than FF7 and I was surprised by the twist, because it's no longer public knowledge, as much as you may think it is. You also have to take into account how many new gamers there are. My girlfriend, for example, only played FFXV, and has no idea about the major twist of FF7. It's a completely new and fresh experience for her. Wouldn't you want other people to have that same fresh experience we had? FF7 tells one of the greatest narratives ever, and it deserves to be enjoyed the best way possible.

BIG FF7 1997 SPOILERS BELOW - - - - - - - - - - - I have always wondered what would had happened if Cloud revealed himself to Tifa in this mission. Say if she was ranting and raving about not being able to go in and so he showed her who he was to calm her down, or, more accurately, if he never wore his helmet to begin with and Tifa knew he was there from the start. My guess is that we will never know but with the whole new multiverse reveal, I think it would quite cool to see a spinoff novel which gives this ‘what if’ scenario in another timeline, the game wouldn’t happen but I’d love to see where Nojima would take their lives until 5 years later

Both this game and the last of us both in two parts. There are so many remakes nowadays and new games that use a similar formula but at least so many new good indie games come out as well. Kinda makes me realize what companies still live in the past.
