While I do like this, I thought it was really cool how in Tekken 4 how Hwaorang and Jin spoke to each other in English in one ending since that was a language they both understood and could speak, even though its not their native language. It felt more grounded. Granted Tekken is anything but grounded these days, it's fully embraced the insanity.
Considering how weird was Asuka's ending in Tekken 5, I wouldn't be surprised if neither Harada or the developers knew what to do with Asuka in the whole Mishima story.
I've been in a situation where a soldier was at my job asking me a question in spanish. I replied to him in English. For some reason he refused to speak to me in english and we just had a whole conversation of me speaking to him in english and him speaking to me in spanish. I found the whole thing funny as this was going on, and there was another soldier with him, a white guy who just kept quiet, smiled, and looked fascinated at the whole conversation.
I really wish more media does this. Its so silly and fun. The only other thing I know that does this are the Hololive skits where we can have people speaking in japanese, english and indonesian to each other.
You know, I think this is the right place for characters to be wearing their alternate outfits. Does Hwoarang have to walk around with his Dobok everytime?
NOTHING will beat the conversation between Marduk, King, and Armor King in Tekken 6. King: “Grrr Roar Snarl!” Armor King: “Growl Purrr Roar!” Marduk: “LIAR!”
They say that the First Mishima persevered in building the Tower of Babel, and successfully made the tower to heaven, in defiance of God, by simply not caring about the language barrier.
Zafina also doesnt speak a language from her home country. I think Xiaoyu gets japanese because she actualy spend enough time in Japan to learn the language and maybe got used to speaking that more then chinese (also the voice actress may not be able to do both japanese and chinese so they stick to japanese) Fun fact, it is MUCH easier to learn to understand a language then to speak or write it. You dont need to master a language in it's entirely to be able to understand somebody in a different language. We could learn to understand multiple languages in the same time it takes to master one language in understanding/speaking and writing. So if these fighters are like ''I want to be prepared to deal with all my rivals and be able to understand what they are saying'' they could learn to UNDERSTAND thrice if not more the amount of languages then if they would want to learn to speak it as well. While it's silly to think ALL tekken fighters would bother to learn to understand ALL the languages spoken in the tournament, it's not as far fetched as it may come across. If you can learn to master 3 to 4 languages you can most certainly learn to understand 10 or more languages. As long as you have enough exposure to the language. Understanding a language is the first step of language learning in the natural learning order of things (look at little kids learning the meaning of what their parents are saying without being able to talk or write yet).

It's kinda cute seeing Asuka like "thanks for caring for my older bro..... wait, no he's not my brother!!!" 😂
She’s not like “wait no” she’s more like “SIKE, you thought!”
@@dabgurlacc8458 yeah Harada explained it was a Osaka dialect thing, they go along with what's being said before denying it afterwards. To quote him if you were to give a banana to someone from Osaka telling them there's a call for them, they'll actually answer it before going "wait that's not a phone, it's a banana"
This is what mass effect would be if you had different aliens talking to each other.
It was explained in the game that they were using a translator though
Asuka steals every scene she's in when she opens her mouth!😂😂😂
0:21 Im the only one who wants more interactions between Jin and Asuka?
Right there with you 😞
Me too
also Xiaoyu 😂
It would turn incest
All fun and games until Asuka goes "neesan"
I love Asuka’s tsukkomi act with everyone. She really is a country girl surrounded by a bunch of meathead global fighters, so she’s like the only voice of reason around their fists
Isn’t she one as well?
King of the Iron Fist Tournament Entry requirements
1. Know martial arts
2. Have any kind of issues
3. Can speak at least 27 languages
I very love asuka voice the way she talk so cuteee
Asuka speaks in Kansai dialect since she's from Osaka, which is why she sounds different from other Japanese speakers, even to people who don't speak Japanese.
Always nice to see Jin and Asuka's relation acknowledged
0:19 Hwoarang: (talking to Asuka Kazama) "Huh 🤨? *Were you, like, Jin Kazama's sister or somethin' else here* ya, darlin'...🤷🏻♂️?"
0:21 - 0:26 Asuka Kazama: "Thanks a lot for *taking care of my big bro Jin Kazama... N-N-NOT* 😂! So... Now *you're on the Jin Kazama-aniki's side, by then* ...😃?"
jin’s honest reaction to that information:
I’m glad we live in a world where King, Kuma and Panda can roar and we can all understand exactly what they are saying.
But stupid Ogre just has to ruin everything by speaking in Wingdings…
Don't forget about the Kings
People can understand *Azazel* , but not Ogre. Let that sink in.
Well..... according to Tag 2, he (it?) is an alien
Ogre is Alien Tekken is universal but doesn't include Zetans language despite that all Ogre's doing is speaking Japanese backwards
@@Doralga Ogre a grongi?
This is the exact reason why I love the tekken series!! It’s so diverse. I wish some rpgs did this
All the characters are multilingual and can understand each other. They just choose to speak their native language. It's honestly dope af
I honestly wish Hwo's ending in this game had him speaking broken English with Jin again, I think I might've died laughing
I low-key love it though. makes them world feel whole, its kinda cute
That's just Tekken being Tekken..
I took this quote from a Great Dude name senpapi gabe, and I couldn't agree more.
I love asuka voice she's so cute
I wish more games would take the multilengual approach.
The amount of work and organization to handle voice acting from multiple countries is really impressive, especially for a game that only has one dub.
Im so glad Hworang and Asuka interacted, they are my head canon ship and tag partners
It's Star Wars rules, you can speak your native language and understand what the other is saying
Better than "the entire galaxy speaks english for some reason"
Perfect
🎉Happy to see more Tekken characters engaging with each other.
It feels like watching another Tekken movie.
Really wish the real world functioned like that. Everyone understands each other with very little misunderstandings.
0:33 Ten years in the joint
well it's because "Martial Art IS The Universal Language"
Cause Fighting is a universal language kids.
I think even the audience in the colloseum understands them too
Fun Fact: Hwoarang and Asuka have fought each other before but never met
Asuka and hwoarang love history
What? lol
Source?
Wait what? How could they have fought without meeting each other?
@@AnonymousC2218 fought in a game battle but never met in Story lol
Off topic but i love that Asuka call's Jin her big brother
Hwoarang claims he's not Jin side. But he end up his side at all.😅😅😅😅😅
Asuka gives off big Tsundere energy this game. Sucks she's not more important despite being related to Jin
I still remember in tekken 4
Hwoarang and Jin speak in english to talk each other

Lili : French
Asuka : Japanese
Hwarang : Korean

Hotel : Trivago
Wish it was like this irl. Everyone just walked around with close captions
Im so happy that Hworang's eyes were healed from granade fragments damage, it's a true miracle!! 🤧
このシーンに限らずみーんな母国語で喋ってるのが鉄拳の魅力🤣
I know, I love this about this game but I still find weird how they can still understand each other...
@@ihatehumans487まさにその通りですよね!

Se podría decir lo mismo de éstos comentarios :^
*Insert Baalbuddy comic here*
This is genuinely my favourite thing of Tekken and I love they kept it.
i wish i could understand every language like this irl and speak what im comfortable with
I miss Hwoarang's Tekken 5 design, that drip defined my taste in clothes basically.
С этим я соглашусь
Imagine the real world if we could somehow do this
It'd be wild
Setuju
Plot twist: they're just acting as if they understand each other so it doesn't get awkward
Hwoarang really needs his biker vest for God's sake 😭
Нам это очень нужно
She's Jin's cousin and wasted story potential that's peaked in Tekken 5.
After her cousin "accidentally" put his head in her boobs, i understand why.
Same clan, Jin is Kazama Clan's Main Branch.
More like a distant relative
Considering how weird was Asuka's ending in Tekken 5, I wouldn't be surprised if neither Harada or the developers knew what to do with Asuka in the whole Mishima story.
@@TheZetsubouBilly I actually prefer Asuka over Xiaoyu 🤣
If they can communicate with bears, this isn't as impressive. Yet still impressive at the same time
Doctor Baskonovich 5 minutes later: Простите, молодой человек, но вы сели на мое место
Hwoarang is the strongest human in Tekken lore canon wohooo
its Paul
You get so good at reading your opponents moves you can anticipate the words of another language.
Why wouldn’t you talk to him in Spanish? You’re clearly Latin
Asuka so fiery cute
I really wish more media does this. Its so silly and fun. The only other thing I know that does this are the Hololive skits where we can have people speaking in japanese, english and indonesian to each other.
Kuma:*bear roars*
Every other character: on god bro
love asuka's kansai ben
That ending in Tekken V where Wang is speaking to his dear friend Jinpachi in Mandarin.
They all eat Doraemon's translation jelly before tournament begin
It's even better how King is straight up just growling and roaring and they still understand.
You know, I think this is the right place for characters to be wearing their alternate outfits. Does Hwoarang have to walk around with his Dobok everytime?
I love tekken because it never tries to be anything else and it works every time
NOTHING will beat the conversation between Marduk, King, and Armor King in Tekken 6.
King: “Grrr Roar Snarl!”
Armor King: “Growl Purrr Roar!”
Marduk: “LIAR!”
ong bro how tf did marduk understand 2 furries speaking at each other bro😭

Gotta love Howarangs energy of "Nah i didn't come here to cheer for my friend, i am here to beat up his dad."
Lili: French (I think)
Asuka: Japanese
Howrang: Korean (I think)
And they all understand each other no problem.
Lol wym you think? Isn't it obvious? Hwo in particular reps the Korean flag on some of his gis I'm pretty sure
@@azdart I thought that the important thing here was the language, not their looks
I guess
Lili is Monegasque and Monaco is generally a French speaking country, Hwoarang is indeed Korean as he is a Taekwondo fighter.
She is speaking french
to think a world with no language barriers you would at least think the mishamas can talk about their differences
They say that the First Mishima persevered in building the Tower of Babel, and successfully made the tower to heaven, in defiance of God, by simply not caring about the language barrier.
of course, their fists speak for them, and they are fluent in all languages.
I'm surprised they didn't switch Xiaoyu voice into Chinese since Xiaoyu technically Chinese 😅
Xiaoyu is living in Japan. And she is student of mishima high school. That's why she speaks japanese.
Zafina also doesnt speak a language from her home country. I think Xiaoyu gets japanese because she actualy spend enough time in Japan to learn the language and maybe got used to speaking that more then chinese (also the voice actress may not be able to do both japanese and chinese so they stick to japanese)
Fun fact, it is MUCH easier to learn to understand a language then to speak or write it.
Plus she's in love with Jin so she's speaking his language
@@amberanimeI think zafina is from Egypt
you're way too late. She can speak Japanese since Tekken 3
at least they understand each other
Man, imagine what the world will be like if everyone understands languages and animals
