- I took my friends Kan from @levelasianpod and @itstheresale on a tour of Cambodian food in Cabramatta! Sydney only has a few Khmer restaurants, and they're all pretty much here. We tried Phnom Penh noodles, nom banh chok (a fish vermicelli noodle), chicken curry noodles, deep fried intestines, and even some Lao desserts at the end.
A BIG thank you to Theresa for filming and editing this video! Please check out her channel / @itstheresale and show her some love!
LOCATIONS:
Battambang Restaurant on Cabramatta East Side - Phnom Penh noodles order the dry, large bowl with mix of egg and rice noodles), crispy fried intestines
Phnom Penh Mini Restaurant - num banhchok (fish vermicelli noodles), chicken curry vermicelli noodles
Siem Reap Restaurant - the one that was closed, but another great place for num banhchok and they do lemongrass BBQ beef skewers
Kaysone Sweets - Lao desserts

Biting a chilli when eating num pachok is a warrior’s way
😂
I’m also Cambodian and grew up in Cabramatta! These restaurants are also my childhood and I love eating there. That Lao place is also my fav fruit shake place! Thanks for repping Cambodian food Kev!!
One thing I always order at Battambang is Mi Gatang!!! Have to have that and Phnom Penh noodles every time I’m there haha
Oh I've never tried the mee katang there before! But I do like it at Dong Son, they have an awesome peanut satay sauce
Glad you enjoyed the video and glad I could help showcase our family and community!!!
Never know Cambodian food. It looks yummy
Thanks for watching and learning about Khmer food!
Fantastic video Kev. Great to see you promoting the best food area in Sydney. Would love to see you expand maybe do a full video on Lao food in the area. Also a video on the "dark side" of Cabramatta that is the plethora of vegetarian restaurants that exist here. I know vege is not everyone's cup of tea but people need to know how good SE Asian vege food really is and how it is very well catered for in SW Sydney. Keep up the greats vids mate.
Great video man!! I myself, grew up in Cabra too. Cambo food definitely underrated

So nice to see you do a Cambodian food video. I’m Cambodian and a lot of people I know have never tried Khmer food - have introduced them to Khmer food and they all love it. You should come down to Springvale in Melbourne for more Khmer food videos.
My dad actually takes a bite of chilli and follow by nom pajok after so it is a Cambo thing! 😁
I would love to visit Springvale one day!!! I'll probably feel quite at home there 😁

How good is it! Wish that third restaurant wasn't closed so we could've eaten some BBQ beef
Great vid Kev ! You are right about the Intestines..It's a popular bbq dish in Korea and they need to wash out and soak for a long time to get the taste out ..Also same for Korean intestine soup...
Thanks heaps mate! Making me crave Korean intestine soup at this hour 🤣
I need to go out there for KNY
You know you should be doing food tours & charging a fee. I would love to attend

❤❤❤
❤❤❤
As a fellow Kon Khmer, You made me so proud that you said the Vietnamese took Cambodian idea of that dish 😊 and made it into something similar. I can tell that you are a proud Cambodian, Thank you for your contribution of putting us on the map again. Cambodian people should be more proud of who they are, we are one of the first one of the original, and it’s time to rise! Time to show the world! Our history and culture dates way back 3000 years, torn and broken up by invaders. So evidently all of SE Asian country was influenced by my beloved country Kingdom of CAMBODIA Kampuchea Khmer empire 🇰🇭 ❤

7:09 Ok the red soup one isn't curry. Cambodian also has curry but that's not it. I usually just call it red soup and I prefer it to the green.
Its quail egg
can we get a spanian and sydneyfoodboy collab pls?
If he wants to hahaha
I think that's unlaid egg, not ovary
