I bought mine band7 a few days ago, and was wondering if it was really that good, your video helped a lot, never saw any reviews like yours, you’re the GOAT man, thx for the help!!!!!!!
I'm not a fan of wearable tech, but I needed a watch that's under 60 euros for tracking my activity, and seeing this perform better than the whoop which is very heavily sponsored and much more expensive , I'm happy with knowing it's not going to be a bad performer. the detail in the video is incredible so thanks for putting it out there !
Just found your channel. I'm planning on replacing my Mi Band 5 and I've binged several of your reviews. My Mi Band has disappointed me a lot, especially since they changed the app (from Mi Fit to Zepp Life). I've found your channel to be highly informative. I hope Huawei addresses the sleep tracking issues since I'm in love with its HR and step counter features. Never thought Amazfits were that bad, considering how good they look. Thanks for the info 👍🏾
As someone with multiple degrees in exercise science, I am loving the analysis of these trackers. This is significantly more insightful than other reviews which really only tell you the features, and nothing about the efficacy of the device they are trying to make you buy. You really should have more subs.
Exercise science?! Damn, I never knew, that that was an option... Always thought, that rehabilitation, surgery or endocrinology is the top choice for a broad and medical education in exercising. How is studying it? What do you study? Can you explain Stimulating Reps theory, for example? How knowledgeable do people really end up after graduating? Please tell me, I am so interested in your experience.
Im following your video for about 1 year ago and thank you so much, even im not buying smartwatch/band every single product release, your video still entertaining for me, keep up sir !
I want to add about step counter. Huawei apps also count steps taken by phone sensor. It would be great if you do both: with phone in pocket and without phone at all to check if it's more accurate if the phone is inside pocket
I really appreciate your hard work, quality content and I must say you help people make a better purchase unlike the other TH-camrs whom smack features and read pamphlet from the manufacturer, thank you
I'm surprised Band 7 didn't outperform Band 6. That's a pity! Still, there is a chance after updates Band 7 performance will be improved Thanks for a great review!

Amazing review! Huawei watches seem to be quite good on most tasks, but fall short on sleep tracking. I've been wondering if using Sleep for Android app to take advantage of these watch's sensors would make for better sleep tracking, have you ever experimented that app?
Sadly Huawei watches cannot be used with Sleep for Android as I realized a bit too late after buying. Their sdk does not allow you to interact with the watch directly, only indirectly through their Health app, meaning you can't use the watches data on its own but only the already process data
I love and appreciate your work in analysing the accuracy of modern watches, but I made an astonishing experience, that might be worth to think about regarding sleep tracking. When checking your experience of sleep tracking of the Amazfit GTR3, that watch is pretty perfect (and even better than the Withings Sleep Analyzer) regarding only the total or complete(!) sleep time, meaning the time between falling in sleep and awakening. And my experience is exactly the same: That GTR3 is pretty perfect when measuring the complete(!) sleep time. But wait: This Huawei Band 7 on the other hand is measured by you as one ot the worst regarding complete(!) sleep time. So far, so good. One could resume, that you should not take this Huawei Band 7, even if you are fine with only the complete sleep time. But now my experience: I wear the Amazfit GTR3 on my left hand and the Huawei Band 7 on my right hand now for a week, and I noticed, that both watches measured always(!) the same (+/- 1min) total sleep time ! How is this possible ? When checking a lot (but not all) of your videos regarding the exact tracking of sleep stages, I noticed, that every(!) watch has some problems, measuring the right stages of sleep. Even the best systems like the Withings Sleep Analyzer lacks a lot of accuracy: None of them tracks sleep stages in a range of 80% or better. Only regarding total (or complete) sleep time, there are a few watches (like the GTR3), which are pretty near (say more than 98%) to the actual complete sleep data, regarding your measurements. So how is it possible, that you measured the Huawei Band 7 different than the Amazfit GTR3, but I noticed, that they track complete(!) sleep exactly the same ? Well - maybe we do have different sleep habbits. And some watches do track well the sleep of one person, but have trouble, tracking the sleep of an other person. My conclusion: Tracking sleep stages is still mostly only a rough estimation, tracking total or complete sleep might be working much better, but even there, the accuracy might be different from person to person.
I am curious about the stress measurement. I use this band and whenever I do massage to clients (I'm a massage therapist) my stress level will go high 😂 even though i don't feel stressed at all.
Just a personal advice. I got the band 6 (maybe it is the same with the band 7). I used it in the pool and it broke, probably one of the connectors with the button. So maybe be careful with that. Thankfully Huawei replaced mine when I took it to their service. There is a video on youtube of a guy that says clicking the button under water damages it (wich is what I did). He also says that his band revived after drying out for a few days (mine did not revived, it got stuck in a reboot loop). But who knows, maybe mine was just a defective device. Other than that it has been a good heart rate sensor and sleep monitor (just for the total sleep time and nap time). Also, thanks Quantified Scientist, you make a great job here, next time I'm definitely buying whatever you recomend.
I searched for a group of Arab videos that talk about the same topic, and I only found the satisfactory explanation in your videos, 'Thank you for your effort.
Superb video again. Your hard work shows in the detailed analysis. One thing I noticed, the Huawei Band 6 though quite accurate as a step counter seems to have a mind of its own and counts steps even while the person is totally at rest and not even wearing the Band.
That was informative. I was researching all over for the sleep tracking accuracy of huawei band 7 and it is off my list now after watching this video. Thanks
Oh finally the wait is finally over! I was a bit worried last couple of weeks, I was thinking like "What if I buy Huawei Band 6 right now then immediately Huawei Band 7 is released days after I'd be fucked up", and now I have update the wishlist 🤣👌
Hey Rob! I was one of your first subscribers :) It's good to see that the channel is growing so much! Wanted to ask: what are the best budget sleep trackers in your opinion? Thanks for the great work!
Hi Amanda. Just to clarify, no brand has every paid me anything or sponsored me for a review. My opinions are my own. Happy to discuss if you disagree with my conclusions, but the data I present are the actual data I collected, and no company has any influence over them.
@@TheQuantifiedScientist Thankyou for reply Rob! I alreadt bought one since this is on sale in my country haha. Hoping the heart rate tracker of the watch fit 2 is comparable on the watch gt3 as you mentioned on yoir previous video
Hi Rob. Great review as usual. Keep it up! Have you considered reviewing a COROS device? They've just released na interesting update which claims to detect the REM stage and I'm sure we would all love to hear your opinion on that...

Great review. I really like you videos! I think you could more indeep comparison between 6 band and 7 band of Huawei, or against their competitors like Mi band 6. Once again, thank you for the great video.
Hi! Have you ever considered testing the Fossil Hybrid HR? It's an interesting hybrid watch using e-ink, claiming to have a 25-day battery life while also having fitness features. However, I'm not too sure about the accuracy. Appreciate it!
Hi, your reviews are amazing and very specific. Thank you for the work you do! I would all like to advise you to add the accuracy of gait tracking when you do sportwatch reviews: it would be interesting to understand, in addition to beats and GPS accuracy, which device is more accurate in recording the average pace (it can be done either cycling or walking while running). Indeed, it seems that the various smartwatches are very different on this point!
Good job, but just add RAW EEG spectrogram to somnograms compairing slides (on top of as example)! It will be much more informative and answered to many questions about relevaiting of your compairing.
Wow, Rob! Your videos are incredible, and so helpful. Thank-you so much. One thing that I find frustrating with this Huawei band is that it does not count side steps or backward and forward motions that are not full steps. For example, when I am working on our canning line, I am constantly side stepping and back stepping. I have done that for hours at a time without the Huawei band logging a single step! It seems a little unfair since I am always getting a workout! My Fitbit always logged those steps. It's a rather big anomaly that I thought you might find interesting for future videos! On the exact same type of work day, the Fitbit would log over 20,000 steps while the Huawei Band 7 will give me 3,700! Why the big difference? I know that the Fitbit tends to give you some free steps, but that discrepancy is crazy. Is it in the type of sensor used?
Amazing and detailed review. It's a bit disappointing that the Band 7 gets slightly worse accuracy than Band 6, I was looking to upgrade from Honor Band 6. But as you mentioned, both seem to have the same sensors, so maybe it's a matter of software updates and the Band 7 will get better at tracking. Still on the fence whether I should wait for Band 7 or get the Watch Fit as it's even better than Band 6... Though it's more bulky, I love the small form factor of Huawei bands, you don't notice them on your wrist.
It's always nice to see HR testing during activities, but what about testing HR measures outside activities? Some watches I had was giving fairly accurate measures during activities, but was totally unacurate outside activities when I'm looking at my real time HR at a glance.
Hello many thanks to have spent time for show all that , here are datas very interesting... you're the best , please continue like that . good job thanks.
Thank you for this! I am thinking about getting this for my mom because ae need to monitor her oxygen levels and you gave me a lot of help in deciding if it is worth it. ☺️
I am quite happy with the Huawei Band 6 I bought in March 2022, your review help me decide... that and also a great deal at 30€. I did not get it for the sleep tracking so the under performance do not bother me much, that mentioned not being able to set up the sleep time range is bad and if you are working on a night shift the band is 100% useless as the sleep time is considered as naps and you do not have any details. But again for what I got it (steps, some activities, heart rate etc...) I am ok and will not upgrade to the 7, maybe to the Watch Fit but I like a small wearable device as I am always wearing an automatic watch and will never stop. Also as an iOS device user, I have to say that you do not get the SMS and that's a shame.
Mr Rob, for the casual ("poor") athlete, best sportwatch with GPS: Huawei GT 2e (TruSeen 3.5) x Huawei Band 7 (TruSeen 4.0) x Huawei Band 4 Pro (TruSeen 3.5)?
Thank you very much for the review! I'm in thoughts of buying these watches and was not sure if sleep tracking began to be reliable compared to 4-5 years old models. The testing cleared everything I've been doubting about!👍
I love your reviews. Why don't you do calories measurements. Because I have bought this band 7 and the calories counter is so ridiculously low. I'm disappointed
It cost me 30 dollars to buy a band 7 meanwhile samsung watch 5 costs about 260 dollars. And i heard that samsung watch 5 has the same sensors as before so its a no brainer to get the band 7.
I had decided to buy this Huawei Band 7 but I reminded something decisive to me. Spo2, heart rate, step count and other details are pretty important to me, but what about stress sensor? I mean, Huawei Band 7 has it? Have you checked it out on another video? It'd be pretty nice if you had it 🙏🏽✨ Really pretty thanks for these videos. I was going to buy Xiaomi Mi Band 7 but I saw Huaweis better (for my necessities). You are the best dude. 🙏🏽

Thank you for the great review!!! Now i know that i can ignore all the sleep stage data! There is also something called "Breathing Quality" (under sleep section) and stress scores in the HUAWEI Health app I wonder if they are accurate.
Hi! I'm from Brazil and I just discovered your channel, I understand a little of what you say through the translated comments to get an idea which one is better in your comparisons.... my 2 doubts are the following: 1* which is the best smart band or smartwatch to monitor sleep up to about 105 dollars? 2* which is the best up to about 55 dollars? If you can answer me I would be very grateful for the help, because I want a smartwatch / smartband to monitor my sleep around these values.... You just got my like and another subscriber to your channel.

Thank you for all your reviews.
I'm confused now about these watches using the HRV ( stress ) . My understanding is the healthier you are, the higher the number is, but when they display the numbers its a low number that they consider the best number which is the OPPERSITE of what we trying to gauge?!? what am i missing here, ill appreciate any explanations please
I realize you focus your tests on hardware. Have you ever considered covering the calorie calculations that these various companies use? I have tried several fitness bands and find that none of them calculate calories burned the same. None of them come close to what the calorie calculators show using average BPM.
Lots of comments for fit adults, who are into gym, cycle riding and running. What about the vast market of pensioners who need to have note of their fitness/ activity . Plus need the motivation and warning of ,overdoing activity. You do not notice till the following day,and then suffer the pain and stiffness. Looking forward to you comment. Peter

Mr Rob, for the casual ("poor") athlete, best sportwatch with GPS:
Huawei GT 2e (TruSeen 3.5) x Huawei Band 7 (TruSeen 4.0) x Huawei Band 4 Pro (TruSeen 3.5)?
Great detailed review 👌🏾👌🏾
It'd be pretty nice if you had it 🙏🏽✨
Really pretty thanks for these videos. I was going to buy Xiaomi Mi Band 7 but I saw Huaweis better (for my necessities). You are the best dude. 🙏🏽
Stress point is calculated based on heart rate and Huawei's algorithm.
@@tienatho2149 and that algorithm is good enough in Huawei Band 7? or there are better bands for that?
I mean, I already bought Band 7 but I want to know.
Where can I see all the charts, and graphs where you could see all the other devices etc
Hello!
I really like your channel.
The analyzes are very interesting and useful.
I would like to know how to export data from huawei band. Can you tell me?
Thanks!!
Thank you very much for the information, you are so cool!
I'm choosing between huawei 7 and xiaomi 7 pro, but can't find information about this xiaomi product.
Thank you for the great review!!! Now i know that i can ignore all the sleep stage data!
There is also something called "Breathing Quality" (under sleep section) and stress scores in the HUAWEI Health app I wonder if they are accurate.
Wow! The best review!
Note: I'm using Google translator and I hope you understand my questions, thanks! 🤣✌️

Peter
Which mode do you activate in order to track weight lifting? Thanks in advance 😁
