    Hey there, cheers from Germany...the algorithm brought me here. Cornwall looks amazing! I love cycling too. I have been in Denmark by bicycle, with my wife our son and dog. I put a few videos on my channel with englisch subtitles, if someone is courious. Take care, Volker
    Ceep up the good work, it was fun to watch and keep smiling :-)

    I grew up near Redruth, it's really wonderful riding round there and the mineral tramways project makes for some great gravel riding.

    Great video. Me and a buddy are planning to do this in spring 25. Great inspiration, thank you.

    Great to see you tackling Cycling UK's newest route so soon after its official launch. It always surprises me how few other riders you encounter, given their popularity.

      I did think id see a few more people doing this route as i did it over the weekend, but only met 2 people doing it, and they were locals. I think cycling uk released it a little to late for most people and its quite annoying to get there on the trains.

    Interesting route and big thank you to the people who put the hard work in devising this new route, and others like the Rebellion Way in Norfolk. My steed is a little Brompton, so I’d take an on-road option sometimes, but a lot of the better gravel and grit tracks are doable even for the Brommie. I’d like to give these new routes a try, probably doing them over a week to allow for leisurely days and all the hike-a-bike sections. Thanks for showing us the route 👍🏻🙂

    I had never thought of riding a bike in Cornwall and didn’t realise there was any off road routes.
    But this looks fun apart from the unrideable bits.
    Nice distance too, though I don’t like camping 😂

      Yeah, there isn't that much off-road riding in Cornwall, but the pasties make riding there totally worth it 😀

    Do we not think a nice xc hardtail would be more suitable for these kinda bike packing trips. Just a little easier on the rough, and a little added comfort

    thanks so much for this. Planning this for this year with a mate. Wasn’t too sure of the terrain/mileage we could expect to do as had heard some reports of it being really hard. this was super helpful but also just fun to watch. Next time get your pasty in Redruth-a couple of cracking options there!

    Really enjoying all of your video's. Seems you exist on Ginsters which is no bad thing but, do you ever take cooking gear with you on the longer trips?

    would not a mountain bike be better suited to the terrain? less hiking?

    • @KeepSmilingAdventures
      @KeepSmilingAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      nah the gravel bike was perfect for this ride, there was very little hiking. a lot less than i expected, the small sections of hiking, you would be hiking whatever bike.

    Really like this route dude - except that massive puddle of pain! Did you train it to your start point?

    • @KeepSmilingAdventures
      @KeepSmilingAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After walking through it I’d say I could have just ridden through to be fair. I took a train from Bournemouth to Dorchester then rode from Dorchester to Axminster then train the rest of the way to keep the cost down.

    • @RoadyPacking-CyclingAdventures
      @RoadyPacking-CyclingAdventures 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KeepSmilingAdventures best to be safe than sorry dude.... Typically there would be a narly pothole lerking under that brown water!
      I've never taken my bike on a train before....is it hassle free? Any hidden costs etc? Cheers 🤘

    • @KeepSmilingAdventures
      @KeepSmilingAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah for sure i did expect it to be more boggy.
      I wouldn't say its hassle free, you need to book your bike on, which for the most part needs to be done at the station in advance. Gwr app does let you book it when booking your ticket but it doesn't always let you. There is no extra cost for your bike though. Most of the trains use stupid hooks that dont fit anything other than road tyres.
