On particularly brutal parts of the Baja Divide, she has plenty of enemies who curse her and Nicholas for designing that route! Of course, those feelings do subside once one has finally rolled into somewhere with a cold beer or shower.

❤ Go Lael! Wilcox & Houle families raised in the same Anchorage, Alaska neighborhood - a block or two apart. Yes, the Houle boys “old man” gets inspired by your videos-started bike packing & Gravel racing all because of you!! By the way at my age winning is simply not finishing last!! You go girl!!
One of the most beautiful human beings, well alive & kicking - American National Treasure - Lael Wilcox - she did it again: 16 days, 20 hours. Lael, you're a huge inspiration for thousands of us, right now and for years to come!
Hola Lael, I hope everything goes great in the race! I was going to say the biby looks like one I used to own from Mountain Laurel Designs... I also used to own a pad from Klymit (Inertia x frame) which only needs 5 breaths to inflate (literally) but you might already tried one in the past ;)
I'm not sure how ingot, here but I'm glad I did! I learned something and had a great time watching. Wishing you the best of success with your goals and race!
Such an inspiration. Love the energy, positivity and stoke … especially in a male dominated activity. Good luck, Lael… hope you end up crushing your goals this time around while still enjoying yourself and being safe!
Thank you for sharing this with me. I ride a stationary bicycle in my garage. However; I feel your video will be a real good informative for my niece who is an avid bicyclist.
Somehow I think your packing is very well organized, although you aren't giving yourself a whole lot of credit. LOL! Thanks for taking the time to share this and actually pulling out all of your essentials. Watching the tracker, and of course you are doing well. Thanks Again!!
Very cool to see that 3Zero Moto wheel. I was wondering if they were still a thing. I really like the idea, except for the spoke heads protruding into the tire.
Can't stress this enough: Wear the tracker on your body. If you crash and become incapacitated you may not be able to reach the tracker on your bike to hit the SOS button. (I use breathable Hi-Vis vest with some handy velcro tabs to fasten a Spot on my back just below the collar. Good view of the sky, comfortable and always on me.)
For other riders yeah. I think a) Lael may have film crew with her often and b) she may have an alternate form of wearable tech that has accident awareness. not sure if wahoo can do it. many modern phones and gps navi devices have it as an option on the top tier stuff.
Hi Lael, best of luck, beat your record! This lady is such an honest athlete, I live on route as Trail Angel, put water out for all. Lael did not know, it's dark now and asked can't cheat, Lael your not cheating the cooler of water is right there and I've seen all riders from last night and today. Thanks for the pictures!
