I had read that the way she was cut in half was consistent with a specific surgical technique known only to doctors at the time; so I definitely think it was Hodel. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Hodel's son pointed out in his book that the way ES' corpse was displayed mirrors an image in one of his father's favorite artist's paintings. This artist and Hodel were close friends; and Hodel's son believes ES's murder was his father's malevolent tribute to his friend; giving "life" to his friend's art. So yeah, I'm with you on this one Karine; Hodel did it.

Poor Elizabeth went thru complete hell and torture her last days and hours of young life....the person who did this was EXTREMELY EVIL...he basically was a REAL LIFE MONSTER....and I believe that MONSTER definitely was the doctor who had killed her!! Unfortunately, that bastard was NEVER charged and was able to live a life of total freedom until his death 😡.....so this case will NEVER be officially closed and no one will ever be able to be prosecuted due to the killer being dead long ago....but at least we know, that the doctor or whoever killed Elizabeth is now BURNING IN HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!

When I was in my upper teens, I had a morbid fascination with death photos so I spent a lot of time on a now shut down website called bestgore and I've seen death pics of Tupac, MJ, Monroe including Black Dahlia. Her death pics are what made me never look at that kind of stuff again because what her murderer did to her was the most horrible thing I'd ever seen. I won't be describing any of it, all I can say is that if it was possible to wash those images from my brain, I definitely would do that. No one deserves what was done to her.

I'm amazed with this video on Elizabeth Short you've made! I'm so happy you made it because I've seen several crime shows and documentaries cover the Black Dahlia but not Elizabeth Short. I've heard that the media back in Short's time was brutal and cruel in their coverage of her and her family. Like reporting right after her death that Short was a hooker because she went on dinner dates with men or at the least, she must've been a loose woman - which I don't believe she was loose or a hooker at any point and even if she was it doesn't make her any less of a human than anyone else. I also heard Short's mother found out about her death in a terrible way as well. It's exactly as you said. So sleazy and scummy it makes feel like I need to bathe in bleach. I heard what the movie Black Dahlia was like from someone and was disappointed it didn't focus on Elizabeth Short at all. I think women going to work and starting to explore independent living may have been on the rise then and sexist reporters may have partly spun Elizabeth Short's murder as a cautionary story to other women then along with sensationalizing the story to sell papers. I like to refer to Elizabeth by her actual name rather than morbidly sensational title the press then gave her as a victim. Still part of me wonders that if victims were given names like that and we stopped giving those names to criminals, maybe more people would remember the victims instead of the killers. It feels icky but I'd rather we remember the victims and put them on a weird pedestal rather than the killers simply because some people start killing because they want to be famous for something even if it's for killing. Not sure if such people resort to that for fame enough to warrant that though. And obviously while it may help people think of the victims more so than the killers, it is still dehumanizing to the victims even if we do so after their deaths. I don't know how society can improve itself in the way it treats victims and it's very tragic all around as Elizabeth's fate and the handling/portrayal of her afterward reveals that ugliness lurking in human society. But what most don't realize is that it's not limited to California, it's already widespread, has been for a long time if not already there form the start and really nowhere (& no one) is safe from it. Wherever humans go, that darkness will follow.

This one is almost as fascinating as the Jack the Ripper cases in England and also the Zodiac Killer and D.B. Cooper. I feel like because of her promiscuity, the cops really didn't put much effort into finding her killer. She was an up and coming actress and model, who was relatively unknown
She was practically a "runt" in the industry, meaning she didnt get any type of work that put her on the map. Sadly, instead of being an actress and finding a husband, she became known as The Black Dahlia because the few people who did know her said she wore black alot, her hair was dyed jet black, and wore dahlias in her hair a LOT. The cops were lazy and the story was too popular that they wanted to just put it to rest and move on. I used to think it was someone of Irish descent because she had the "Irish Smile", but more mutilated and someone who was maybe betrayed by her. Like I said, she was promiscuous and someone even once said she was a step away from being a paid escort, aka prost*tute. Whoever it was.....they wanted this girl dead. 0:25 this picture isn’t Elizabeth Short. It’s already been identified as Ruth Spalding. Steve Hodel is a narcissist who does anything for a book sale and attention. It’s really disrespectful because there’s no way he actually believes all his own BS; then again, narcissists have a way of mental gymnastics to convince themselves. Anyways, there’s no link anywhere between George Hodel and Elizabeth Short.

Everyone mentioned Elizabeth was striking, really beautiful woman. Her image is radiant and iconic , had she been given a real chance she could’ve been a great actress or model. I like that Karrine covers Hollywood icons and the dark side too, you can’t just talk about the good and not mention all the bad. Cautionary tales are important.

The mother was not walking through a "park." She was walking on a sidewalk on a property which had not been developed! You get too many of the facts incorrect. Which disallows your entire presentation! You spend your time making these videos. Research them, and state the known facts. Otherwise all you are doing is disseminating the wrong information. Which is horrendous.
