They shouldn't be able to outright fly like that of course, but gliding gracefully through the Gotham skies should be doable by only using his cape. It's cool, and it makes sense for a character like Batman to have multiple uses for his cape. Fireproof cloak, gliding, enemy distraction during fights. He shouldn't wear that cape just because it's cool. Let's make it practical and useful.

You misunderstood, instead of the Playboy Batman in Dark Knight, Battinson is a Batman that reflects Batman's style and atmosphere much better, especially his detective side. Since Battinson's Batman is a new Batman in this business, it can be considered quite normal for this to happen. Not only that, he has a few more such his offsides in the movie, but he is more of a NEW Batman than the other Batmans. That's why it's normal for him to be like this, which is also very important for character development, so I hope he corrects these mistakes in the 2nd movie.

This concept isn't new to Batman as a character and is implemented to further the grounded nature of the films. It was a creative decision you're more than welcome to either like or dislike.

I actually loved this Batman movie. It was a young and inexperienced Batman, but he was still capable and willing. The fight scenes were great, so was the detective side. If anything this gliding scene showing how tough Batman is, and how he is willing to do things he is a little scared of.

Keaton was already Batman for years at this point. Bale’s Batman was equipped with military grade equipment designed for what he was going. Pattison’s Batman was starting out and trying to develop this stuff himself.

He was using wingsuit glider for that scene. Batman sucked with his equipments in his early career, remember when he was chasing Chronos through time with Blue Beetle in animated series? Although no one can help you if you are determined to hate a movie or an actor.
I think its clear to understand it I mean the whole theme of the movie was about Batman trying to understand what he is stand for or if he is just your random thug in suit . it is safe to say that batman was a bit inexperienced also had some struggle with gliding or other detective stuff.

I actually loved this Batman movie. It was a young and inexperienced Batman, but he was still capable and willing. The fight scenes were great, so was the detective side. If anything this gliding scene showing how tough Batman is, and how he is willing to do things he is a little scared of.
