- It's that time of the year again, the time where I go for a new CC pb. This time I wanted to finished what I started last year and get the sub 2:15. not much to say over all a good run it had it's good and bad moments and by no means is perfect. If everything goes to plan a sub 2:10 is possible I juts don't see it anytime soon with 1.6 around the corner.

Im pretty sure they don't speedrun on the latest version because in older versions explosive ammo is cheaper, a long with some other reasons.
1.6 is adding late game content stuff. I dont think it will change early game tooooo much. But maybe there are a few more ways to get weird and specific items?
@@KingQ. this video is on v1.5, as "Guarantee Year 1 Completable" (added in 1.5) is visible as a game start option at 0:45. Not sure exactly what conveniences 1.5 offers though.

It’s not “meta gaming” he has 5k+ hours and a lot of it has been doing speedruns an and trying to play optimally. I don’t think anyone else really even comes close to that much experience/practice at such a high level.
Animation canceling is one of the bigger time saves once something has been properly routed, everybody knows how much time it saves. Haboos animation canceling is second to none, there’s no hidden knowledge the dude has just practiced that a bunch.

Animation canceling. You’ll need to rebind some keys to do it.

@@ceptember.the dev coded an obscure key combo into the game for debug purposes that cancels the period of time after using a tool that the character is stuck in animation. the keys in the combo are strewn too far apart on the keyboard to use generically, but some people use software to bind the combo to a mouse button or singular key press. they can then press that button/key immediately after a tool action is registered to cancel its cooldown and save a lot of time overall. it’s pretty difficult to get really adept with the timing like Haboo though, to the point where you can even lose time when you start learning it.

I noticed u seemed to finish it on year 2 fall. me and my bf are playing our first playthrough together and we barely know anything about the game but completed ours spring year 2. idk how we seemed to complete it so much earlier than you (maybe we just got lucky with the traveling merchant)
I really want you to try a challenge on mobile. I think it will actually save you time in the long run.
You can just Bluetooth connect a mouse & keyboard so you don't even need to worry about touch controls.
Do note that touch controls let you do stuff you otherwise can't, like enter the bus from the rear by holding your finger over the door, and reading signs from any distance.

Me and a buddy are learning to speedrun this in a coop and how do you have the animations for the farming and such to be so much faster?
There is a built in 3 key combo that cancels out of animations.
If you do a youtube search for "stardew animation cancelling" there are guides that explain how to do it.
If you press right shift + delete + R after each tool animation it cancels the animation. He has all three keys mapped to spacebar to make it easier.

animation cancelling: basically cancels the tool animation after the tool is used, so that the tool can immediately be used again, resulting faster time between tool usage
it can be done by pressing Right Shift + Delete + R as soon as the tool has been used. it's hard to press it by default, but I believe Haboo remaps some of the buttons to the thumb buttons on his mouse (I personally remap R and Right Shift to those buttons), and remap the other to the Spacebar (I personally remap Delete to the spacebar). it's allowed within the speedrun rules, I believe if you want to use AutoHotKey it also still allowed, as long as you time the keypress by yourself (not using macros or automate it with AutoHotKey)
What’s the thing in the left corner mean?
I think he explains it (but not very well) at 1:35:00, if I understood it right it's splitting the run into different subcategories like catching tuna or getting the rabbit's foot with a timestamp each and it's automatically comparing how much time he took for each so he can see how he's comparing to his average, or personal best, or something.
Still impressive that he talks at all during a speedrun even if it is rambly, and he seems pretty tired too based on how often he's yawning. :D

How on earth do you get to mine lvl 14 by 11 am with only 1 parsnip for energy and barely killing an enemy.
My character out of food by this time stuck looking for a ladder down. That many floors takes all day that early on

It's the speed running splits. It breaks down the categories of the speed run into smaller parts so you can keep track of your pace better. It lets you know if you're further ahead or falling behind. It also gives a little reminder of where to go next if you need it.

No, but they are inherently big. I much prefer big dogs, but i understand the annoyance when they try to jump on people
when i was 10 i was walking my dog and he dragged me across the road. obviously it was not intentional and he didnt do anything wrong, but still dangerous nonetheless. bigger dogs have more potential to be dangerous i think is what he was saying. i love pitbulls but you cant deny they're more dangerous than a pomeranian because they can easily overpower you (intentional or not)
