That avatar was ridiculous. Good job. I think funny looking avatars are great for speedrunning, since immersion was never even on the table. Just cut loose and enjoy! And I did enjoy this. ;)
This was so fun to watch live! Chronos is really good at explaining everything as he goes. I found him through his bg3 speedrun tutorials, learned this exact run to get the honor mode achievement. Both a great runner and teacher!
I already spent about a thousand hours in this game why not spend another watching Chronos dominate this game again. I friggin love this game and the speed runs go crazy for this game for how fast it got busted open
It sums up what it intends in a single word, so it gets the job done. You aren’t gonna see Skyrim-esque running through the skybox, and see something closer to a “real” playthrough of just trying to play the game really fast
speedrunning is almost always an unintended solution in itself. there aren't that many games where the dev's goal is for you to beat it as fast as possible, so you're always going to need to do unconventional things to achieve that goal. the arbitrariness is going to seem doubly true for a game based around the story, making the speedrun look nothing like a casual playthrough. glitchless just means there are no glitches, which is accurate here. for example using "enhance leap" in conjunction with "feather fall" is an intended mechanic, not a glitch, the runners have just figured out a way to use it incredibly efficiently if well practiced. plus, if a community gets too granular with their category naming they can end up with an unorganized mess
@@GeoffRamler Isn't using the bombs in the way they did to kill Ketheric a glitch? I didn't think they were supposed to explode like that when thrown in a stack. (I generally prefer glitch allowed categories so this doesn't bother me, it just seemed inconsistent)
the weird thing about the gortash situation is that in my honor mode run finished last week i used a lot of chronos strats towards the end of act 2 and onwards, from the orin fight up to the upper city portion i mostly did what he did however when i went to speak with gortash, after the first set of dialog(coronation) instead of talking to me about the alliance he just left(i had the stone) and then i went upstairs exactly like chronos did in gdq but when i entered the room he just talked to me normally and we did the alliance 🤔
Good lord the screen tearing is terrible, assuming it's not just an upload issue big kudos to the runner for dealing with that and providing an otherwise entertaining run!
He killed Orin before the coronation, so Gortash expected him to have the Netherstone. Not having it means he thinks you didn't accept the alliance, so he attacks.
@@KaitouKaijuIt’s a fair question for a speedrun. Tons of runs end with a warp to the credits without even seeing the final boss. It’s silly to pretend a speedrun is exactly the same thing as a full playthrough.
@@RealLockheedMartin This is a 1h speedrun of a game that can take 100h in a casual first time playthrough. Their question is a legit question. They could be skipping 99% of act 3 and since this guy probably doesn't know act 3 they wouldn't know what about the 1% left is a spoiler or just random stuff.
Very fun run to do, thanks to everyone involved! 🌱❤🌱 Big shoutouts to bisc who arrived at the last day to help commentate and my Halo 3 coop crew!

Yoo great job dude! I dig your personality on stage ✌️😎
I still cannot believe you ran this category at a marathon. Fantastic stuff and congratulations from all of us in the BG3 speedrunning community!!
Thanks Mae! Really appreciate it and hope to see you at another event as well!
@maeeeeeee and @ChronosReturns both of you do very fun runs! Good job! Thanks for the work!
CHRONOS THE GOAT. NICE DRIP SAPLING AND AWESOME RUN
God Damn, that was my time inside the nautiloid ship
Was my time spent on opening game and listening to soundtrack.
That’s impressive! I’m 3 hours in and I still haven’t chosen a name for my character.
all my time in character creator yep
Only speedrun where you get roasted for being single by the literal god of death
What a machine, also explaining the whole run the whole time, great job Chronos!
Man, I love Fauna
Chronos runs to many things amazingly. All the way from fps to turn based. And is an excellent narrator.

Congrats Chronos, I remembered watching your speedrun submission 3 months ago. Thank you and everyone at GDQ for the event as always.

Bisc asking needed to know questions is so good. I loved him on the couch

Sapling represent. 🌱
I love how the most replayed portion of the video is presumably from people trying to figure out how the heck he did so much damage.
my first playthrough that i just finished a couple days ago took me 125 hours
this is insane. lmao
For real I'm at 204 and just hit act 3. Clearly, I need to jump more.
Man I Love Chronos (and Fauna 🌱)

lol I've always thought glitchless categories are pretty arbitrary, this run impressively still manages to be 100% unintended solutions

Nice speedrun and great charity to support❤
That was so much fun to watch! Using the fireworks to end it was peak BG3. Congrats to Chronos and to the community for reaching all those goals.
never thought this is possible in GDQ. nice run

another sapling!
This speedrun is what running in my dreams feels like
was waiting for chronos to just say "makin my way downtown" several times throughout
Dude runs TES, Halo, AND BG3. What a god.
the smoke powder bombs against kethric are just exploding in my face
Neat. Love Chronos
Is audio out of sync?
It's a twitch thing.
boulders gate
Holy screentearing
kudos for speedy upload

Bro I took an hour to create my character, what a run.
He created his character before he was on stage, that's the trick
Me entering Baldur's Gate at hour 112: 👁👄👁
The character reminds me of that painting where the face is made up of fruit
lmao, i forgot that withers will literally call you maidenless
45:55 bryonato had me dyin
Congratz !
This was True "gaming" 😄
I killed karlach in my first playthrough because my devil overlord bid me too and that made Shadow heart my best girl.
The screen tearing is painful
Fauna shoutout, let's go.
I think I made it off the nautiloid in my first attempt in less time than this game took to play - but I'm not sure.
The knock spell in the temple of shar was patched out. What do speedrunners do now?
❤❤❤
Wasn't expecting a shout out to Fauna and Saplings uuuuu
Minthara best girl.
real
Damn I didn’t realize I was the only one who liked shadowheart the most 😭
this guy could beat the game on steam for achievement and get a refund...
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Did anybody notice straight away at 2:16? Absolute-ly
Bolders gate 3
is the gale bomb ending slower than going through act3 glitchless? that feels crazy lol
and i'm idiot play this game 120 h+.. I'm so stupid....
Ugh if Larian ever setup a gofundme for Baldur's Gate 4... 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I wishhh
laezel the best girl tho
Why did Gortash attack him there?
He killed Orin before the coronation, so Gortash expected him to have the Netherstone. Not having it means he thinks you didn't accept the alliance, so he attacks.
I want a new game plus added to the game.
Now do it on console
What is the point with speedruns? Do please explain the point with it for me.....
The point seems obvious: to go fast
Is this super spoilery for act 3?
There's definitely some spoilers don't watch a playthrough of a game if you care about spoilers
maybe don't watch someone play a game if you don't want to know what happens in the game
