We are ready to expand our quail brood, and so we purchased a new Nurture Right 360 Incubator and 50 celadon quail hatching eggs from Southwest Gamebirds.
This means we have upgraded our incubator to one that is more precise, and in this video we do a review of our initial findings with this incubator.
In this video we also show you our standard coturnix quail eggs vs celadon blue eggs. These new eggs that we purchased are a rare variety where the coturnix quail have a recessive gene that lets them lay eggs that are blue instead of the typical tan/brown speckled eggs.

I just discovered quails and i am obsessed its the best thing ever and they live in an empty room in an apartment little to no noise and the smell isn’t bad either so far i am loving this i got a first hatch got 6 just tried to get an idea ended up with 2 femals and 4 males i butchered the 2 males and left the females now i get eggs every day and i got 20 eggs in my incubator i love this journey
We have the nurture right 360 too! We absolutely love it because of the external water thing, the fact that it includes the turner, and the built-in fan. We get great hatch rates from it too!! We’ve gotten 100% hatch rate a time or two. We’re trying it on jumbo and celadon quail. I highly recommend it to everyone one looking for a table-top incubator.😁

I have used this incubator and it works wonders..my hatch rate was always above 80% I would have 42 quail eggs at a time .. for snowflakes and bonwhites
That is a very nice incubator! it looks like incubator technology has really come up since we last had one. Will be exciting to see what hatch rate you get in the end! The quail certainly are a good fit for your yarden space!
Yes, they seem to be really improving incubators. I wonder what people who were hatching eggs 30-40 years ago would have said about the new technology. :)
Yeah, I don't know why coturnix corner hates the nurture right 360 so much. I've used it for many hatches now and as long as I'm using a second themo/hygro to adjust the real temp it works great. Not perfect but for $150 it is great.
We will know the results in about 4 days (or should) but so far, it really seems consistent. We will update once we get everything hatched out. :)
I agree, we've had pretty 80% and up consistently with this incubator, its not perfect, but I think its a good entry level.
They also frown upon govees

hello my quaill egs are coming today i am usung this incubator how do you controll humidity ? do you just make sure the humidity is allways full
Do you have a thermometer/hygrometer that you can keep inside the incubator throughout the hatching process? If yes, I would keep one inside the chamber. The Govee works great for remote monitoring. I would also recommend testing to see what the humidity level is with one port filled versus two ports. We had some sudden drops in humidity (on our first run) so you will also want to monitor the levels closely. To really bump the humidity levels up even higher, a clean damp sponge works great. We definitely have a lot of room for improvement and it is a great learning process.
I dont trust places that dont gauruntee their product but great video and i appreciate the incubator review
It's impossible to guarantee shipped hatching eggs. The shipping process can damage them regardless of how well they're packaged.
@cerissemincey1763 everywhere I've ever purchased eggs shipped or otherwise have always been guaranteed and my quail, turkey, and duck eggs shipped are guaranteed also so I don't understand how it can be impossible if most reputable breeders do it.

I ordered 40 from myshire farms and only 4 hatched. Found a guy on craigslist. Bought 12 chicks and 40 eggs for less i paid myshire and todays the first day of hatching and already have 5 hatching.
Oh no! We are sorry about your low hatch rate. We have not hatched quail eggs from Myshire, but we know that shipped eggs have a much lower hatch rate. Please come back an give us an update on your second hatch. Were they shipped eggs?
Yea they where shipped. But 4 out of 40? Is crazy. I was expecting at least half. This is the 2nd day of lock down and have 25 out for 40 so far.
@@williamjenkins8566 Yes! We would recommend contacting Myshire to see if this was an outlier. We are sorry you had to experience such a low hatch rate, even if it was your first.

You do know that myshire farms has a 50% hatch rate guarantee? Ask them about it
This might be a dumb question but did you set the eggs for 24 hours at room temp, pointed end down, before incubating? Often times the air cell will become detached or misshapen while in transit. I once only waited 9 hours instead of the full 24 hours and my hatch rate went WAYYYY down.

What was your hatch rate?
Hello Satine, It was not great. We ended up with only 11 birds, but we are going to do a video to talk about it. We don't believe it was the Nurture Right as we have had another hatch with a very high rate since this one. Stay tuned for that video soon.
