Serious hatchers want to do autopsies on the eggs so that we learn what happened, and work to improve our hatching capabilities. When you know what went wrong, you can try to avoid them in the future.

Also we have a disabled duck. She is lonely. We have eggs from her sister and her boyfriend. We would love to get her a baby from her sister to keep her company, she is separated from everyone bc they are rough with her. Her hip is broken and can not ever heal. Hopefully they are better at costumer service then their dad. Jake is one rude man! He just sent me a lovely email after my Post Office had trouble locating the box of eggs. The box was NOT labeled "fragile" or "live animals", so it was in the back with the rest of the packages being tossed around. I was provided with a tracking number that had a "status not available" message. I honestly wasn't upset until Jake sent me an awful email wondering how my post office didn't know there were eggs in the unlabeled box. I was truly concerned for the eggs and just asking how long they can be in a box before the incubator. Instead of helping me he went off on the "state of the world" and "to blame everyone." Good Lord I just wanted to make sure the eggs were going to be ok. I don't suggest doing business with White House on the Hill, but if you do, maybe request that they label the box so the post office can handle it with care. Seems like common sense but not everyone has it :)

That incubator is so cool! I'm in Uganda, teaching, and the kids and I tried to build an incubator with a 4L jar, cotton, warmed with sunlight and a heating mat. The eggs actually developed until day 7! but we couldn't regulate the heat well enough, and they didn't get any further. The kids would LOVE to see eggs hatch. In Uganda, everyone has chickens, but they are always hatched by the hens, so the kids have never actually held a chicken!

Thanks for opening the non hatched eggs - it’s good for learning and the soul! Yes, it’s sad- but very interesting- I appreciate all you create and post!! I grew up in the city- didn’t even know backyard gardening was a thing let alone chickens!! Last year I stole and incubator from my daughter in law and a bunch of her eggs, I hatched our own flock of chickens with my twins when they were home from school (thanks covid!! We had fun and learned a lot)…. I love my birds! They are all unique- they all have a different personality and I love them!! We just got a couple of ducks that a chicken apparently stole and hatched. They are two weeks old today and living their best life in our bathtub for now. Goal is to eventually move to ne Arkansas/sw Missouri in the near future! I can’t wait. Until then I will continue to watch and learn!! Thanks for everything!!

I have fond memories of the times my dad and uncle would pull out the tubs with the baby chicks. You have so many beautiful birds and your children are lucky to know where animals come from.

That incubator seems amazing, would love to have one of those!! I was wondering if it would work for goose eggs, I saw that you can remove the barriers to make bigger or smaller eggs fit, but I'm wondering if a goose egg is too large for it height wise, because it seemed a bit crowded with the raised platform. But i guess you could always rotate them manually and use the lower platform right? Anyways, hope y'all have great day, and greetings from Puerto Rico!!!

If I got the incubator I would give it to my mother. She spent her whole life taking care of my sister and I and the family. She worked hard for her college degree when I was in HS and has now worked many more years as a medical assistant. What she's always wanted to do though was to breed and hatch birds/chickens. She's now buying a little chunk of land and I think this would help her start her dream of hatching chickens on her own!

I'm from the UK and have finally got my kids attention away from Technology by growing our own plant and food. We have talked about hatching eggs of our own for a while so they can have more ways to explore, learn and enjoy nature. They are all mow fascinated by thing they never gave much thought to before.

The quail are so cute! I grew up in AZ and we had Bob Whites and gamble quail that lived wild on our land. We loved to watch the parents followed by their chicks. It was one of my favorite childhood memories.
I just got my first pair of Bourbon Red Turkeys and I am hoping to raise some of them. I am also about to start my flock of Silver lace and gold lace Wyandot Chickens. Because I live within the city limits and don’t have 5 acres or more I have to keep my flocks small. So the little oval incubator would be perfect for my needs.
