    There is such freedom in crumb quilting. I've been using my serger for so long to do my crumbs, that I forgot all about the chain stitching. Your video reminded me

    Wow Lori! You’ve opened up a whole new quilting world for me! I am trying to sew straight seam allowances and have all these four patches and HSTs and didn’t want to throw them out, but didn’t want to throw them in the pet beds either. I’ve been sewing log cabin and strip blocks and never had the need for those lil blocks….your clever system is just what I need! Thank you for your time and effort❣️

    I really like your idea of low volume crumb sashing. Looks gorgeous ❤

    Love your crumb blocks. They look coordinated even though it’s just crumb pieces. I have fabric crumbs all over the place in my sewing room. I also have a friend that makes pet beds and gave her a bag since I had so much. I like to make my blocks 12 1/2’ unfinished. I do enjoy watching your videos and inspiration.

    I like your use of the word 'generosity' quilt instead of charity quilt. It suits my soul! I have cut my creations into 5" squares. But I think now, they are not as big as I should have made them. I plan on 5" sashings between each long column of 5" squares columns. It's a good thing we do not always plan on showing our artwork to be judged!!

      If you don't think they're big enough, just add more pieces to them, or combine some pieces and shop them down to the size you want.

    I've been cutting up my scraps, using your method, since January and I'm accumulating quite a few crumbs. I'm trying to use crumbs as my starters and enders and decided that I need to try making one crumb block a week. I have one done for the first week of July and am surprised at how fast it came together. It's also really fun and I'm using all colors and tones at this point.

    I wonder how this would look if you did the blocks by color story

      That would be Fabulous! We'll have to try that for sure!! In fact, I have a couple of scrap bags sorted in purples and in reds which I can use to begin this project! It'll be fun, won't it?

    If you need more crumbs, contact a local quilter through maybe an organization or fabric store. However you do it, a lot of those Quilters are just throwing their small pieces of fabric away it's been my experience that they are more than happy to give me their scraps

    What is the smallest size scrap you use, and how would you quilt it? Love you tutorials.❤

    • @quiltingwithlori
      @quiltingwithlori  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Typically the smallest crumb I use is around 1” to 1.5” or so. Smaller pieces get thrown in my pet pillow for stuffing! So glad you are enjoying the tutorials! Have fun!
