Thanks for starting this channel! I've watched your drill videos many times over the last year or so. Your new sparring videos are excellent, and I'm excited to see Destreza content in English becoming more common. Italian rapier is widely available to learn at most HEMA groups, but Destreza is uncommon here in the USA; most of us are learning from the books. If I could make a request, it would be for some videos with more detailed descriptions of the techniques. The technique of line in cross, for example, is highly debated. Academia de Espada has some clips demonstrating techniques and atajos from Rada, but they are very short and don't have a detailed explanation. Seeing how to do them slowly in practice and then at speed during free fencing would be excellent! Thanks for the kind words and apologies for the extremely late reply, TH-cams notifications do not show up unless specifically clicking on the video. I will produce some videos on the techniques and base concepts of destreza in the coming weeks. We recently produced a video on the basic atajo 1-8.
This is super cool. I’ve been practicing the vulgar fencing from Godinho’s Arte de Esgrima but I’ve always wanted to practice Destreza. Who knows, perhaps if I see something here that I like I’ll try it in free play/sparring. As a side note, what master’s text are you studying from?
Glad you like the content, we use Rada mainly but we also adapt a stance of what works. Adapting a few different concepts into our practice. We will have more videos coming out soon on some basics and more advanced concepts. If you have anything in particular you would like to see let me know and we will try and address it.
i study fma. a topic i would like is the positive negative affect destreza had on the world. and the subcultural indigenous arts that borrowed concepts from it.Escrema philippines, Esgrima Criolla,Colombian Esgrima. really looking forward too your content.
