I planned on making something like this back in 2008, but didn’t have anything like the scorpion engine… My country doesn’t allow plagiarism to be consider a civil offense it’s criminal so I can’t make anything like this without permission
Great gameplay. You didn't mention it in your review but in case you missed it, this is like a spiritual sequel to the classic Master System game Kenseiden, even if it borrow elements from the Shinobi series.
Oh the Original Kenseiden title music! This brings me many memories playing Master System. Also memories playing Revenge of Shinobi as a kid! Seems that this will be an awesome Kenseiden Fan-Sequel.

Final verdict.... Hayato: Kicks a lot of Demon Ass. Gets a lot of thanks from rescuing the weak. Gets the girl in the end. And of course....if he gets sick of your shit....DIE. This seems better than the game it was based on (Kenseiden).
Is there a list somewhere that tells where each graphic asset was lifted from ❓ The worm things in the second part of level 1 are from rygar and I he boss in the thumbnail is from the willow arcade. It would be fun to find out more 🤷
I doubt anyone except the Chinese will touch this given it rips off so many games… Limited Run Games would never be able to touch this because of that. If this things gets a LRG release I’ll officially quit the games industry.

Wow this really is a good top notch homebrew game!! Congrats to the developer, it feels like a golden original of the past. Also, great playthrough!
Kenseiden was one of my favorite games to play on my Master System. So many good memories beating all the stages, bosses and training rooms
When it came out almost nobody bought it because in the 80s nobody cared about samurai, only ninjas.
First big samurai boss is from Revenge of Shinobi. I think the horse riding background is from Shinobi III.
The most impressive thing than this title, is that you mastered the boss patterns so quickly.
