Love the trick for cutting the seats in the rafters. BUT would have like to have seen how you measured the sloped uprights in the side walls. I get that you fixed then removed a plate to underside of rafter. But then the uprights just appeared. Shame.
Probably held the board up against the side where it will go then just marked where the plate hit the board. That'd be my guess on how to do it with no measuring.
So if he knew the pitch of the roof 3/12 for example , those all correspond to an angle in degrees of bevel on saw , then you plumb up and mark either the long or short point of the angle . Measuring in place is very doable in this situation so definitely the easiest.
I took woodshop in school in the 80's. I had no interest in it really, my friends were just in the class. Wish I could go back and slap that dumb me and tell him to pay attention because this stuff is cool.
Yes do it yourself mate, the bought ones are too flimsy. I made my own from reclaimed timber using 3 by 2 studs, got eight foot lengths at only 1 pound sterling each but needed de-nailing. You will be much more proud and experienced if you build it yourself.
Nice that you used diagonals, this is pretty rare nowadays, but i still see these as very necessary. I think the structure have to be stable itself not with sheeting.

Very cool video! I like the idea of the V frames in walls; not typical around here to do that. Always makes me laugh to see work done in centimeters. This is going to sound silly but I wish I could build stuff in metric. In Canada, everything is in metric EXCEPT construction. I just can't get my head around those fractions man...
Here in the UK we use centimetres and millimetres in construction. I was the last year in primary school to learn inches and feet as well as metric so I can do both. I live in a 200 year old house and believe me I can spot a metric measured piece of wood the minute I walk in a room. There isn't a single straight wall or regular length in the house. The man who floor tiled my hallway was so panic stricken by the job I told him to put down the tape measure and do it by eye so it looked right. The hallway is exactly as wide as it needs to be so a human can walk down it comfortably. It wasn't measured, it isn't straight and it works. They just did it with paces, arm lengths, thumbs and hand widths.
You inspired me to build my shed. Unfortunately I ordered my lumber from Lowes and got complete junk. They failed to pick it up as well. My dream is mostly ruined but I will try and salvage what I have. I'm going to Home Depot or a local lumber yard for future lumber.

Thank you for the great instructions you provide. I really enjoy your videos. However, I have a question. How do we weather proof the sides which back up against the back wall. I’m anchoring my shed to the wall of my house. I have a brick veneer house, but the concern would be the same regardless of it being weatherboard or brick veneer. My concern is when it rains directly in that area (back house wall) or when the wind pushes the rain in that direction, it will rot out the back wall. Does anyone here have any ideas or suggestions to deal with this? Thank you guys in advance 🙏
The only thing I'm going to comment on is that you didn't overlap the top plates to lock in the walls that was the only item I didn't see performed here
Anyone know what model that handheld cordless Makita drill is? It's got an 18V battery on it, a rear handle and it can cut at least 1.5 inches deep. It's not Makita's 6.5 inch circ saw or their 12V 3-3/8 circ saw. Is it Makita's 5-7/8 metal circ saw?
Is there a video that shows what you did in minutes 1 through 3? I know you were leveling, I see the purpose of those wedges. But how do you level something that already has nails in it?? Do you take the nails off and reposition?
It's quite flat already so it's just about adjusting it to level. Even if it is was twisted or not very flat the nails are soft enough to bend in place by itself when adjusted.
That trick for the birds mouth without a square rafter tool was incredible, thanks!

Thanks, It's actually a Makita circular saw, it's very light and nice to use. The compound miter saw is Metabo.

Attach the back wall sheathing to the framing and paint it while it's laid out on the floor.

Put cross bracing inside the framing and you won't need to move them to the inside when you go to sheath it.
I notch cross bracing in the studs, so that is not a problem.

Very nicely constructed shed! Which Metabo nailer is that you are using? Any problems with it?
Thanks, it's a Hikoki framing nailer (34 degree). Never had any issues. Around 10 000 nails so far.
