I love this sweater. I am a rank beginner just now but this gives me the inspiration to keep practicing and progressing in difficulty so I can make the hexagon cardigan. Maybe I will know enough to start it in a few months.
I’m sure you will be able to make this, if you can do a double crochet! Why not try now, you might surprise yourself, Anja x
Awesome tutorial, thank you Anja, 😊

I love your cardigan and tutorial!!! I would like to make a less bulky one with a #3 yarn. I hope it works out.
Anya I notice your ring matches the yarn you are using.❤
Haha, my ring seems to match everything I wear, maybe that's why I wear it!! Thanks Deborah, Anja x
Thank you so much . Plus your a great instructor 😁❤❤
Awwww, thank you very much Charlotte, Anja x
Hallo Anja du bist sooo sympathisch. Kannst du ein sexagot auch mit einem anderen Muster machen. Das ist toll mit den Ärmel. Danke😊
Thank you for watching, Anja x
I’m a recreational with crochet for years. I am finally delving into learning all the abbreviations for stitches and undergoing projects that call for stitches that I had not yet used. I was always a basic few stitch creator of things, blankets, slippers, hats, shawls that’s it. Now I’ve branched out beyond ss, sc, 1/2dc,dc,tc, c1 lol. Clothing is what I’ve always wanted and certainly cardigans. This video tutorial you made would I be able to exclusively watch and crochet along and be successful? If I can and do well I want to purchase your pattern for future projects in the future so I have a pattern tutorial also.
About how long does it take to make this cardigan?
Hello kindredinspirit, how long it takes really depends on you, how much you can do at a time, how fast you crochet etc, it is very difficult to say, I'm sorry.
Thank you for your interest, Anja x
Like your work thank you for sharing
So nice of you Renee, thank you for watching my videos, Anja x
Hi Anja, such a beautiful hexagon cardigan. Love the colors in the yarn you used. Can you recommend a similar yarn without wool in it? 🧶🫂
James C Brett marble is 100% acrylic Dian or you could use any chunky yarn. www.opheliatalkscrochet.com/james-c-brett-marble-chunky-200g-all-colours the link to Anja’s webshop and yarn 😊
@@juliemurray4719 Julie, thank you for the link, I did not realize the JC Brett did not have wool.
How many skeins would you need to make a size large? I love your tutorial and beautiful yarn.
Thank you, I used 4 balls for mine which is a medium so possibly another 2 maybe 3 more…Anja x
Hi Anja, just so pretty! I definitely want to try this beauty! Have never made a cardi before, like the dc cluster granny patterns a lot…
Is your chunky yarn considered a size 4 weight in U S??? Or a #5?
Also are you using a hook size 6 J in U S???
Your designs are fabulous!! Love the outdoor scenes you select to model!! So glad I’ve found you!! You are a delight!💗
Hi Val, the US comparisons for the chunky yarn I used are a #5 weight, and you are correct with the hook size. Good luck, Anja x
@@OpheliaTalks Thank you so much! I’ll make this as soon as I can! Have Christmas items to make first!!!
Hi Anja. I love your version of the hexagon cardigan. I just finished one following another crocheter's tutorial. When I did mine, I chained one between each cluster of three and chained two on the corners. Does this make much of a difference to the finished cardigan? Is there a reason that you did it without chains between clusters of three? I would like to try it your way. I like the way you decrease sleeves, which are normally way to big. Thank you!
Hi, because of Anja’s personal tension she finds she doesn’t need to chain 1 between her clusters
@@juliemurray4719 Thank you!
❤
Hi Anya, can I ask how you end the last row of the decrease? Is it a Custer of 3 double crochets? Thank you
Sorry, I misspelt your name. Anja
I've made a hexagon cardigan in the past with worsted weight(#4) yarn and felt it was too heavy and hot for me. Could I make this in a DK weight yarn?
Hello Patty, you could, but the measurements and stitch counts will all be different, so make sure you take that into account, or you'll be making one to fit a child!!
Thank you, Anja x
Learn a easy crochet blanket pattern, step-by-step for a baby crib,
Thanks
Are you asking? I have a lot of small blankets on my channel here’s just one of them th-cam.com/video/j04TqKHOdX4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TIO1dqDLu0t31P_v
I love this cardigan! I’m about 10 rows into first half. Could you give a measurement for the length of the sides when you are at the fourteen rows? Without a gauge swatch I’m not sure what the measurement should be. Thank you! 🦋
Hello stitchaspell, this is a garment, and I measure it against myself, so there is no standard way of how big it should be. It should be the size you require it to be so keep on trying to make the sleeve by pinning it together and just sliding it onto your arm to see to where it comes!
I hope this helps, thanks, Anja x
@@OpheliaTalks Yes I see. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your instruction. Very helpful. I absolutely love a cardigan in Pinterest that doesn t have a pattern or a tutorial in English that I can understand. Would you please consider doing a tutorial for this one also? How do I send a photo to you from Pinterest?
@ejuneh I would suggest you try and find out who designed the pattern and ask them, copyright rules etc! Thanks, Anja x
@@OpheliaTalks it’s from another country and language
Is this a 5 weight yarn?
Depending if you're in the US or Australia Michele, it's a UK=chunky US=bulky AUS=12 ply. I hope this helps you. Thank you, Anja x
Hello!
Thank you for your master class.
But can you help me?
I don't understand how it could result in 9 clusters if 1 cluster is removed with each reduction. Logically, it should result in 10.
Which part?
@@OpheliaTalks 20:08
Hi, I cannot wait until my cardigan is finished. Can I ask how you end the last row of the sleeve reduction. Is it a single double crochet or a single double crochet?
@@lisadickinson6747 Hi!
Sorry, I don't understand what you are asking. Please check your question again.
I do the same as the first row of the single crochets with the reduction technique
I would like this pattern but with a #2or #3 yarn. Any suggestions?
@ejuneh I'm not sure what you're asking, please can you clarify? Of course you can do this in other yarn weights, it's just that you'd have to adjust the stitch count, or it will come up small enough for a child!! Thank you, Anja x
Would it be ok to use an aran yarn instead of chunky for this cardigan? I'd like to make a campfire cardigan, but I don't like the baggy sleeves that most of them seem to have.
Heather, remember that the different weight will make a difference to the size of your garment, but yes it's fine to make it in Aran. Thanks Anja x
How many rounds for a 40 chest please 😊
@user-eh7jw4jg8k that is difficult for me to say, your tension will affect the size, the best thing to do is lay it on an existing garment that fits you. Thanks, Anja x
I need some help I would like to buy the marble chunky yarn and live in the USA how much would that yarn cost me
If you follow the link below the video it will take you to the web shop, there you can put the yarn in your basket and go through to the postage and packing section to see how much it would be, I hope this helps, Anja x
These are all the shades we have and more will be added in time: www.opheliatalkscrochet.com/james-c-brett-marble-chunky-200g-all-colours We ship to the USA daily and shipping is tracked and will cost you £13 or around $16 up to 2kg. It will get to you in 5-7 working days. Regards Dirk
Hi, what brand crochet hooks u use? Thanks
Hiya Hiya: www.opheliatalkscrochet.com/hiyahiya-crochet-hooks
@@OpheliaTalks thanks, ur tutorials r the best
I'm not sure what Anja means by skipping on the sleeve portion. Do I keep decreasing till I like the fit?
I'm sorry Carol, I'm not really sure what you mean, out of context, please can you clarify? Thank you, Anja x
