I schooled in Kilifi but never got to see Malindi but I can see now that Malindi is the place to be and properties are not very expensive at the moment. Very enlightening video. Thanks Cham's media.
Malindi needs more investors in the retail industry more than hotel/holiday homes industry. We should try and get away from reliance on tourism
Malindi just needs processing and manufacturing industries
4:15 agreed. But then you have the gentleman saying we need tourists essentially, while the piece says 50% of tourists are Kenyan.
This is not luck of civil education but lucking understanding of your own business.
Tourisms doesn't need to be international, priorities actually matter, so does eggs in one basket, so I have heard.
COVID-19 is one such basket from his own words.
Beautiful. Malindi is very unique.
Malindi needs to be its own county. From Kilifi to Malindi the distance is quite long and it makes sense to make Malindi its own county starting from Watamu. if someone living in malindi and needed services from the country they will have to travel all the way to kilifi.
Malindi is quite developed and growing it also has its own international airport. On the other side, the next town is Lamu which is 137km. So if someone lived on that stretch or between Malindi and lamu they will have to travel far away to get services in Kilifi instead of Malindi. Malindi has a lot of room for expansion between Lamu and Malindi.
Lamu is much smaller in size and population than Malindi yet Lamu is a county.
What malindi needs is an expanded runway to receive direct flights from abroad. the govt should prioritize this because this means more tourists landing in malindi creating more jobs. And if possible have a runway that can recieve direct flights to diani and lamu. This completes the coastal region and watch the coast grow further. Lamu, malindi, Mombasa and diani will be well covered with air transport covering the entire coast region well.
And become more expensive for the locals
Woow congratulations❤
I just see mixed locations malindi watamu and mtwapa
I was excited to see a clip focusing on Malindi, however, it is crucial to use respectful and inclusive language when referring to people regardless of their race or ethnicity. Terms like "whites" or "blacks" can be perceived as derogatory or insensitive. Using terms like "Caucasian" or people of European descent and "African", "African American", or "people of African descent" is more appropriate and respectful. Additionally, it's essential for journalists and content creators to be mindful of the language they use and strive for accuracy and sensitivity in their reporting and storytelling. Lastly, a tourist is a person who is traveling or visiting a place for leisure or pleasure, this is not reserved only for people of European descent, thanks.
Their intention obviously wasn’t to be racist.
Àdu a nyŭmbã loading in malindi for the last 6yrs
Been here too now my 6th year. So far so good
Yes I recently bought land in Malindi 2yrs ago
Half the photos here are not of Malindi at all, but of Mtwapa. How can you have shots of The Moorings floating restaurant in Mtwapa and claim it's Malindi, when it's more than 100 km away
Is mtwapa in msa or kilifi county?
@@patrickmuriithi47Mtwapa is in Kilifi county
@@patrickmuriithi47but mtwapa is not Malindi😂
This entire video is just a poorly disguised ad for Ocean Beach Resort and is hardly informative of Malindi.
Like this is the only Malindi vlog he has produced
I think it's a paid for feature...so they had to do it😂
@@kariukigicira6137 Exactly.
Malindi can be Kenya Ibiza or a thriving coastal city destination for congress and etc
Nah, we like it calm and relaxed. Just the way it is.
My hope is that one day, malindi will go back to its glory days, the days when one in every 5 or so people along the beach was an Italian.
Local tourists are the salvation.I saw in Diani about 40% of tourists are African.
@@Pmooli currently, the economy of Malindi is mostly pegged on remittances and real estate, not that much on domestic tourism.
@@samsimwa7922 We cant depend on foreign tourists forever, Kenyans have money too they can go to those hotels, and if we have to look for foreign tourists we should look for African ones, they are less likely to engage in the pedophilia that these European tourists bring to Kenya
@@PmooliAnd they don't spend much compared to white or people from abroad.
The guy is indian or Pakistani
😢does it matter
He is a Kenyan 🇰🇪
I prefer Kilifi town, especially if Malindi is full of italino-albinos 🤢🤡
Italians are running away from Malindi ,more concentrated in Watamu
Why have they run away from malindi?
Probably too many blks there 😜
Watamu>>>Malindi
Malindi is Malindi, it is Swahili and Kenya. Not 'little Italy'. You would never hear Italians calling Milan or Turin or Florence 'Little Malindi'. You take so much effort to cosy up to people who neither like or respect you.
and actually very recently a German national was convicted on Paedophilia while staying in Kilifi. Respect yourselves.
