    Look at his eyes when he says "It gets to a point where it gets so intense, that we both want to win"....you literally see the intensity in his countenance.

      Yeah, I have only seen a very short clip of him playing in high school ini the come fly with me documentary. This footage is better. Apparently there just isn't much footage of MJ in high school playing. I appreciate the footage as well.

Micheal didn’t get a college offer for Basketball till his Jr year summer going into his senior year. I know you know, he wasn’t even playing varsity his sophomore year of High-school, let alone ranked to be noticed.

    Jordan was born to ball
    He had long arm huge
    Hands with natural athleticism
    Off the scales of anybody
    He had a 49 inch vertical
    at a time when sports science
    was not so advanced.
    That a god gift.

    • @JoshOkoye
      @JoshOkoye 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think he really had a 48-49 inch vertical. That is really high, like head 6 inches over the rim high. Jordan never did that

    • @alsimmonshellspawn6021

      Wilt chamberlain was more athletic

    • @billj4525
      @billj4525 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alsimmonshellspawn6021 Track and field wise yeah, but Chamberlain was a track and field athlete who specifically worked on those things. Jordan did not. I wouldn't necessarily define athleticism through track and field type activities. Jordan was the GOAT player, which accounts to being a super athlete. Bird had very little athleticism the way you're discussing it, but based on his skills he should be considered a top athlete of all time is what i'm saying. Wilt was a freak of nature when it comes to speed and jumping ability. No one in history had him beat. Even his strength was unbelievable. Obviously the 600 bench was complete BS since logically that made no sense for a basketball player especially during that time, but I would think he could hit 400 or over,he was still stronger than any other NBA player by far.

      @@JoshOkoyecould be a Mandela effect but he has been said by a plethora of sources to have a 4.38 40 yard dash and 48inch vertical.
      To this day the closest jumper I've seen to him in the league is Ja Morant.

      It's very rare, Kevin. However, I believe that this is the McDonald's Capital Classic (03-26-1981 - Landover, MD). MJ had 14 points in a 91-85 win. You may be thinking of the McDonald's All-Ameican Game (04-11-81 - Wichita, KS)? MJ had 30 points and hit clutch FTs to seal a 96-95 win. That said, I welcome your input / corrections!

      I was gonna mention this. I graduated the same year as MJ and followed his career since I heard about him in 1980. Street and Smith magazine was the Bible of basketball. They used to have about 6 teams of the top HS players. MJ was not listed on any of those teams. He was an honorable mention. Brick Oettinger was a big time HS basketball journalist in N.C and tried to get MJ on one of those teams of top players, but Dave Krider, who did the H.S section in Street and Smith said the magazine had already gone to print and was unable to get MJ on any of the teams. Back to the MVP snub ( which I feel is a bigger diss than him not making varsity as a sophomore). There were quite a few players who were ranked higher and more touted ( but not necessarily better)than MJ back then. Here's some of the names off the top of my head........Milt Wagner, Nigel Miguel, Ennis Whatley, Aubrey Sherrod, Adrian Branch, Anthony Jones to name a few.
      The game was played in Wichita, Kansas ( where Sherrod and Greg Dreiling were from). Morgan Wooten was the coach of DeMatha H.S ( where Adrian Branch went to school) and also was on the committee of the McDonald's game player selection. This game had Co- MVPs......guess who? Branch and Sherrod !!!!! I heard MJ's mom was LIVID and had to be held back from going down to the court to give them a piece of her mind. So as you can see MJ wasn't always that guy. Just a country boy from Wilmington, NC who worked his way to being who he became. And some of those names I mentioned earlier.....most ppl still never heard of. It's not how you start, but how you finish.
