If you struggle to stay consistent with your workouts then you need to watch this video. I will show you four steps that you can do to learn how to get more consistent with your workout routine. This is incredibly important because no results can be either obtained or kept without a dedication to remaining consistent with working out.
To start, it is important to describe the two types of consistency that are needed in your workouts. The first is voluntary. This means all of the decisions you make to consciously start following and sticking to your workout plan. The second is involuntary consistency. This is out of your control unfortunately, and at the mercy of your health and requires that you stay injury free in your workouts.
That said, your involuntary consistency depends on the quality and soundness of the program that you are following or the person you are trusting to give you workout advice. Remember, consistently following bad advice will give you consistently bad results. So it is important to understand that being steady with your training without a solid plan is not going to cut it.
As for the voluntary decision to get on track with your training, you will need to pay attention to four things if you want to succeed long term. First, you must stop setting goals. I know this is contrary to the advice you have likely been given or heard from many others. Setting specific goals is just as bad. The problem with goals is that they describing the “what” of where you are trying to get to. They are the daydreams of what you would like to be or accomplish without answering the real question of “why” you want to achieve them.
Without answering the question of why you are fighting to achieve a certain goal you will likely fall off track during the process. I made a video on this exact process as well and linked it in the video for your easy reference. Back to this topic however, you next need to learn how to start scheduling your priorities rather than prioritizing your existing schedule. The most successful people in the world do this all the time. If there is something that matters to them, they make the time for it they don’t hope they’ll have enough time for it.
Next, you will have to stop attaching emotional feelings towards your progress. This is the fastest way to make the process something other than just a process. Now you not only stand a better chance to stop on the way to progress but you will be too hard on yourself in the event that you do. This will make it very difficult for you to get back on track and make gains, even in the face of the fact that perfection is not needed to see great results.
Finally, no matter what you do, you have to simplify your options if you want to make progress. Paralysis by analysis is the bane of every successful person. Find someone that you trust and adopt their methods wholeheartedly. As you watch your physique transform before your eyes, you will know that your efforts combined with your decision to follow a smart training plan will the the key to your success. Keep it going and never lose sight of the process along the way.
For a complete workout plan that will guide you step by step and meal by meal to your greatest body ever, be sure to head to athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System.

1.- stop making goals (goal is the "what" but without the "why" is nothing). the "why" is the fuel you need.
2.- "do not prioritize your schedule, schedule your priorities" select a specific time in the day, to workout.
3.- take away your feelings, it will help you to not feel guilty or sad for not working out some day "wherever, i´ll do it tomorrow!" BE PRAGMATIC.
4.- remove the options, too many options are killing your progress. select one that you believe in, and stick to it.

For Me , This is by far the best video Jeff has ever made !!
I watch this one often. I just turned 50 this year and have been following Jeff for a little over a year . Prior to watching Jeff I have never worked out and I was a mess ! I had Diabetes and suffered from severe depression, therapy, medication and even attempted suicide ! It’s all gone ! No more meds , no more depression , lost over 40 lbs. of fat and feeling better then I have in 30 years , not just physically but in every aspect of my life ! Finding Jeff on TH-cam has been the greatest thing that happened to Me !
I want to meet him and thank Him personally some day !!
We don’t need universal health care, We have it already and it’s Jeff !!

I've watched over 100 of his videos the last 5 months. I've lost 27 pounds and I'm at the strongest I've ever been in my life. I'm pretty sure I've lost more than 27 pounds of fat because I've never lifted so much in my life. I even almost have an 8 pack. 5 years of no exercise more than made up for in 5 months. My shoulders, knees, and back have never felt so strong and healthy. Jeff gives great advice and I've never been so motivated to workout before. I feel like he is my personal trainer. I say things like "Jeff told me..." I can't wait to see what results I get after a few years of following his lead.

"When a woman has scholarly inclinations there is usually something wrong with her sexuality." -Nietzsche
You are going to women? Do not forget the whip! -Nietzsche
One-half of mankind is weak, typically sick, changeable, inconstant... she needs a religion of weakness that glorifies being weak, loving, and being humble as divine: or better, she makes the strong weak--she rules when she succeeds in overcoming the strong... Woman has always conspired with the types of decadence, the priests, against the "powerful", the "strong", the men-- (The Will to Power - 864) -Nietzsche
"As Leonard Lawlor and Zeynep Direk point out, "What Nietzsche says -and repeats with hysterical insistence- is that woman is the source of all folly and unreason, the siren figure who lures the male philosopher out of his appointed truth-seeking path."
      Nah, fuck Nietzsche.

I've actually learned quite a lot about life just from fellow gym-goers. A lot of the advice people give you about going to the gym can easily be applied to pretty much any situation, and it's purely because it's something that has no shortcuts. Even steroid users have to work their asses off to get the results they want. You have to do the work, or you won't be rewarded.

4:53 "Working out is as routine as taking a shower or brushing your teeth!"
*I always wished this was the case.* I wish that getting in and out of the gym could just be routine and thoughtless, just like brushing teeth. You don't think about it, you just wake up and brush, no question; you don't consider it optional.
When I was in high school, we had lifting classes. At a scheduled time, you went to this class, got into workout clothes, and the whole thing was routine; simple. As a senior, I had most of my credits and could choose my classes; either I take a study hall or I take a lifting class. I had 2 lifting classes that whole year. Of course I got big!
I'm older now and fell off the wagon for years. But I'm going back to college, and I have an hour break between classes MWF. So I get my workouts in this time at the school gym. I love this! It's so simple and automatic.
I wish we could all have such a simple way to make working out simple and routine.

Crenshaw Head is there a way to work around it? Can you adjust your plan to make it work for you? Can you get a lift in your shoe for the shorter leg? Do different exercises or modifications? Listen to your body and if anything hurts (other than post workout muscle soreness) then stop doing that thing and do something different that doesn't hurt (don't just push through the pain).
I know the struggle- I have a bad left hip, weak knees, anterior pelvic tilt, and tight ankles. I worked with a trainer & did research on how to do lower body exercises that don't aggravate my hip or knees - things like no bending knees past 90, no single leg exercises or twisting, I can do back lunges but not front lunges, need to put a pad under my heels or use TRX straps in order to squat properly because of my tight ankles, need to remember to tuck my pelvis and engage glutes before performing deadlifts or squats, etc. Also do strengthening exercises and stretches to help with my specific issues.
It's kind of like he said if you're doing the wrong thing you will fail because your body will say NO. But that doesn't mean you stop, you just have to find the right way.

    • @courtneymcfarland8333
      @courtneymcfarland8333 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

YungChurro might need to switch things up not necessarily work harder- adjust your workouts, adjust your calories/macros... I struggled with a fat loss plateau for a while recently- finally broke it by increasing my protein, reducing my carbs, and actually increasing my calories slightly. I think I was in too much of a deficit before which made me too hungry so I would cheat and eat more than I was supposed to- I gave myself a little more calories and then made sure to actually strictly stick to them. Have lost a couple pounds, decreased fat percentage & even increased muscle percentage a bit in the past couple weeks since tweaking my macros. Just gotta stick to the plan and be consistent.

You cant train with motivation (in the long run), you train with discipline. If you dont have discipline, no amount of motivation is going to help you since it WILL run out on some days. Some days you will just wake up feeling like "oh its leg day? fuck my life.."

I'd like to thank you for everything you do for us. today, I watched one of your inspirational videos, the one where you are jogging up a hill, and today, I did that and beat my old time record, I not only beat it, but kept going and going and going. I was running up and down this hillside for 2 hours, my last record was maybe an hour, it felt so good knowing that I did it and completely DESTROYED my last record. thank you.

I spent thousands on x rays, specialists, kiropractice..nothing worked. Then I discovered Jeff. 4 months later, pain is almost gone, and i can bench press 200 lbs for 5x5. Jeff taught me how to correct my impigment. 5 minutes each day....INCREDIBLE.

I am on the second week of working out after a very very long hiatus. I am 50 years old. I have to forget about what I used to be able to do. I also have to not dwell on future results. Excercise should have you living in the moment. I do that I will succeed. I have to change this mindset. Also a problem is we see everyone else killing it and think why are we not them. Never compare yourself to others. Also in a world were everything is at our fingertips in a moment's notice we are not used to having to be patient.
