My favorite part of PrimeVsPrime is that he seems to be the only toy reviewer who actually let's the figures shine. He doesn't just show them standing and then transforms them and is done, no, he goes above and beyond in posing them and making them feel alive and dynamic! Was cancelled in WFC Kingdom. But thanks to the Legacy multiverse portals, Gears finally makes his long awaited return in Legacy United. Looking forward to his reuse as the leak listed Gobot Small Foot, and as Swerve somewhere down the line.
You mentioned thinking they'd make Gears from the Brawn mold but you might actually be thinking of Outback who is typically the Brawn redeco. Which personally, I'd not mind seeing. Been a big fan of the G1 minibots since I was a kid and I cannot wait for a Powerglide.
I’ll never quite know why reviewers so often insist on slipping in a backhanded “but only because of transformation” when talking about articulation. With all of these figures having a strict parts budget to stick to, transformation joints that also work usefully when posing are a mark of thoughtful design.
As someone with the original G1 minibot, I one hundred percent am loving these G1 updates throughout Legacy and SS86. Definitely going to preorder when available. Should look great next to Brawn and Pipes. Also can't wait for the 86 Commander Optimus as I never got the Earthrise.
To PrimeVsPrime, I think it would so cool if you did a whole ranking of g1 figures of all the lines. I think it would be cool to have g1 inspired figures over all the waves and compare them. I hope you see this.
Man, Gears here looks excellent, by the looks of it he might just be my overall favorite Minibot so far. Now if only I could find a tiny symbiote Spider-Man figure roughly in scale with him to homage their brief but memorable crossover shenanigans in the OG Marvel comics...

Thanks for the videos! I love those rocket blast effects. Did you get them from Cyberverse Starscream as well or from somewhere else? I bought a 2nd one just for the blast effects, that and it was only $5 at the time. That Starscream the best Cyberverse figure I've seen so far. Oh and I cant wait to get a deluxe Gears!
Eyyy up PVP!!! Love the way Gears looks but honestly I hate peg on wheels, they look ugly and feel cheap…..I miss the days when they used pinned-on wheels but apart from that Gears looks like a mini Masterpiece!
This is an awesome figure. Considering in S2E7, he was all grouchy, but when megatron took his circuit, he was acting like good-natured. I will definitely get this guy.
Please Hasbro, give us Outback and Swerve already. On that note maybe they'd be put in a 2-pack as they'd need extra accessories such as the blaster on Outback's back and the My First Blaster for Swerve.
Before Huffer.. we need Seaspray, Windcharger, and Powerglide... ...please? Maybe also a wider release for Cosmos, because that was just stupid. Regardless, happy to FINALLY replace that Swerve retool from like 10 years ago that never really fit Gears at all.

I had the toys of Gears and Brawn back when I was a kid, so I'm not surprised they gave Gears a unique mold instead of retooling ironhide. They had a similar stocky look and both turned into blocky trucks, but their original toys were quite different from each other as well. Thanks for the video, I feel like I need Gears and Brawn in my collection after seeing them side by side like that, and I hope we get a comparably good Windcharger soon, too.
There's a KO version of SS Leader Fallen, and he's huge. Idk where to find it but based on the packaging, check Baewei, he even gas finger articulation. And he's about the size of the Three zero jetpowered Optimus Prime, maybe a little smaller, and makes the real future look like a core or Deluxe next to it.
So far, the Minibots have been absolutely amazing. The worst one is Netflix Bumblebee, who I think should get a new, updated mold in the SS86 line. However, the Minibot I really want to see next is Tailgate. There is no good figure of Tailgate except the one from the third-party Hurricane and Rear End upgrade kit, which I don't have.
something im curious about is how we havent heard about an Outback or Swerve yet.... usually the obvious retools are same year or a year later and so far no word of either. judging by how long Brand managers stick in place, transformers .. is it BMac? , the last one was only there for like around 7 years or so... and Bmac has been 6 years .. feels like we're in a race against time.

Does this guy realize that weapons have been hanging off the altmode since at least the Combiner Wars trilogy? Basically 9+ years. How is it that it's only becoming a complaint now?
Legacy Gears is definitely one of the highlights of the year for me . Can't wait for Wave 2 in my region. The only thing I would have liked for the secret panel under the chest could have been painted silver or have been great plastic to stand out more , although that's me just being a little ungrateful , since it's amazing the feature exists in the first place at all. Also find it a little strange that his dome head would have articulation. Kind of looks a little strange to be honest. Although having articulation of the "head/Face" in the dome helmet instead would have probably been too hard to do , especially for a deluxe.
Haha 'blow smoke up gear's a$$' - this figure look so fun and you're right, very refreshing not to see so many hollow limbs and the lift up chest panel. Really nice figure. Hope more releases are like this.
Honestly, I'm torn with this figure. Why? Because I already own Mechanic Studios MS-16 Rocke and to be honest, he still scales well with Netflix Bumblebee and 86 Cliffjumper. He also looks closer to the animation. Truck mode and bot mode. I can't see why I'd want to pick this reviewed Gears, up.
Let's be realistic, they remodeled Huffer to Pipes so it would not surprise me that Brawn gets remodeled into Outback and Gears gets remodeled into Swerve.
Now we needed Windcharger to complete the 1984 Autobots.
And Seaspray and Powerglide to complete the 1985 Autobots.

Huffer is a really crappy design. Should have stayed in the mothballs. The cab just doesn't work entirely right.
