All the nominess are amazing.....but John Lithgow is in a league of his own. Nobody else is in the same league as him. His brilliant High Commander role in 3rd Rock propelled him into one of Hollywood's all time great actors. He was so good in 3rd, it is as if he was born to play this role that make us laugh and smile with delight. I admire your astonishing acting talent john Litgow. May you continue to have a long and healthy life ahead of you. 3rd Rock will always be remembered as the best Tv Sitcom Series ever in the history of TV.
I never really watched 3rd Rock. A Few episodes ehre and there. Maybe I'll watch. Actually, I remember John Lithhgow as the Main as the Main Villain in the Sly Stallone Movie- Cliffhanger. He wasn't very funny in that Role, but pretty Chilling and Evil.
That category is one hell of a fight. Winning in that group is an amazing accomplishment with those dudes nominated. High calibre, hard hitting comedy TV legends.
I disagree I think the first four seasons were good. But season 5 was when it went downhill. I agree with you on season 6 aside where they went to Manhattan and maybe the finale . Season 6 was kinda unmentionable
Season 1, the show was still kind of experimenting and finding a path. Season 5 and 6 (with a new writer) went sour whenever the comedy tried to be “self-aware” and spoof itself. Actually, throughout its run, the show often blundered-William Shatner and Jan Hooks’ characters are obnoxious, and episodes that wander into sci-fi land tend to be insultingly stupid (think: Venusian takeover; alien baby; Monkey World plot). The show might have lived longer had the writers not lost sight of what made the premise funny.
3rd Rock from the Sun is my favorite sitcom EVER! Bravo John and Kristen for the Emmy wins! Joseph Gordon-Levitt, French Stewart, and the rest of the cast were all so brilliant!
