I know it doesn’t happen often but when it does the show is usually legendary. All in the Family, The Golden Girls, Will and Grace and most recently Schitts Creek. Those are the major ones.
@@sweeney60 I was coming to say this. And there's a pattern: The cast of All In The Family completed their wins in 1974, 14 years later the cast of The Golden Girls completed theirs, 15 years after them the cast of Will & Grace completed theirs, and 17 years after them the cast of Will & Grace completed theirs. Based on this pattern, it will be 16, 18, or 19 more years before another series completes their wins.
Honestly Debra Messing’s Emmy-winning performance here is one of the all-time best across the genre. I remember seeing it as a teen and being completely blown away by the realism of her acting, it stayed with me for a long time after.
100% agree. That entire scene was just so wonderfully written and brilliantly portrayed. Debra was able to show true versatility by NAILING the carrot cake joke smack in the middle of arguably the single most intense scene of the entire series. 👏👏👏
Because they've been such best friends for so long that no one could Imagine them no longer being together. This scene shows that that could be a possibly that they go their separate ways after all and that reality shocked and upset all of us, myself included. It even hit me again pretty hard just watching this clip Plus, the fact this show had always been so funny with their lines and comedic acting. It's distressing when, out of blue, it becomes deathly serious. That's something that no one ever expected either. That right there is what makes this scene so powerful. It took everyone by surprise with it's hard-hitting seriousness on several different unexpected levels. Completely brilliant writing actually, as painful as it was for us to watch.
Eric's eyes and brow are so on point with the emotional context. Debra was the perfect punching bag until she wasn't. Regardless of how it uncomfortable the scene makes me, it brings me back to marvel at the quality of the work which I have force myself to step back out of the emotion to observe.
Will McCormick is definitely under appreciated. I love Debra, but she owes some of her win to Eric because he was so real and authentic as her scene partner. It’s not said often, but scene partners are so important to really bring out the raw acting from their fellow actor.
Debra’s win is my favourite scene in the entire show. It’s so good and shows how talented an actress she is. My only gripe is that it’s not a comedic moment. I feel like comedy performances are often won for serious moments rather than when they’re being funny.
Debra messing absolutely killed it in that scene. ❤ that scene has been with me for years. I think it’s one of the peaks of this show if not the highest of them all. Amazing acting. Still give me the chills.
All great scenes and deserved wins. The scene with Mr. Stein is a personal favorite, they were all funny and had me laughing from beginning to end, RIP Gene Wilder 💖
But, it was a dramatic performance in a comedy show. If you think, almost every comedy show at some point in their run had at least one dramatic scene. They become so much more powerful because no one expects them in a comedy series. This one in "Will and Grace" is phenomenal.
I get what you're saying, and Debra's win I would emphatically agree with you. But both Sean & Eric's wins are from absolutely hysterical episodes where they have some equally as iconic comedic lines & moments to go along with the more dramatic clips they chose to share here.
I love that every supportive gay parent says the same thing, "I always knew..." 😂😂😂 I got the same speech from my mom when I came out. And then my response was, why didn't you tell me?!" 😂😂😂 and she was like, "I was waiting for you to say something..."
I never knew that they were awarded for specific scenes. Always thought that it was for their whole body of work over a season or something. The cast and the writing and everything was so good… to me, it would be impossible to pinpoint a specific scene (either extremely comic or the droplets of drama sprinkled thru the episodes)
Gene Wilder was a guest actor, that's amazing. He still looked young back then. They all deserve awards. They made me laugh and still today make me lol 🤣😆❤❤❤❤😊
The scene where Jack comes out to his Mom was the most sincere, all jokes aside, he ever was again in this series. I liked it. I wish he had more scenes like this - where he wasnt silly - in the series later on.
Him coming out made me cry. My mother passed in March and this show helped her accept me when I came out. Except she responded "Wasit something you ate?" I also love how defensive Karen got when he told his mom and she was running behind them with a "dont mess with me" look.
I mean, the show itself is a comedy. The categories for awards can only be so specific without it seeming too pretentious. Think about it: "best lead actress in a comedy series but for this award she's being serious." The award is for ACTRESS who just so happens to be in comedy series. It makes sense.
Iconic. Don’t care what anyone says. Some folks criticized the show because “Will” wasn’t gay enough for them. Now as then, ironically close minded much?
Oh, I adored this show! R.I.H. to Gene Wilder,Leslie Jordan & Debbie Reynolds.😢 I am so happy all of the principles in this cast won Emmys, and we can enjoy their scenes like this.❤❤❤❤
Exploitation of anyone is horrible, but children are more vulnerable than adults, which is why I think what Balenciaga did is more horrible than Dior. And I wouldn't be surprised if other luxe companies are exploiting their workers...
Debra should have won one for the season one episodes where she takes on a mortgage and tricks the British guy into making bigger discount with her tirade of someone calling her MA'AM at Bloomingdales :D
Grace paid the price for the oftentimes she took Will for granted when Leo cheated on her and they got divorced. Will was a better friend to her than she was to him the majority of the time. Sorry Grace fans.
The fact that all 4 cast members earned a Emmy…. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

Bravo great cast great show hysterical funny love the show all in the family and golden girls all legendary
"You might have made him gay, but I made him good at it." Dang, what a line.
Honestly Debra Messing’s Emmy-winning performance here is one of the all-time best across the genre. I remember seeing it as a teen and being completely blown away by the realism of her acting, it stayed with me for a long time after.
I agree. It makes her acting level in the reboot all the more disappointing.
couldn't disagree more
So beautifully put. Exactly that
100% agree. That entire scene was just so wonderfully written and brilliantly portrayed. Debra was able to show true versatility by NAILING the carrot cake joke smack in the middle of arguably the single most intense scene of the entire series. 👏👏👏
"Stan is sending a helicopter" - priceless delivery of a great line.
The scene where Will and Grace have their big fight, I always have to skip it. It’s so believable and makes me anxious.
It makes me cry! Like why?
Because they've been such best friends for so long that no one could Imagine them no longer being together. This scene shows that that could be a possibly that they go their separate ways after all and that reality shocked and upset all of us, myself included. It’s like watching mom and dad or your best friends fight 🫣
Me too! I hate it.

Megan Mullally won 2 Emmys for this role.
Shelley Morrison should have won an Emmy too.
May she rest in peace.
RIP to Leslie Jordan. He was one of a kind. My favorite line, he said, was, "I thought I smelled Gin and regret. "
Beverly Leslie you look more like a woman every time I see you
Where is Megan's second win and clip??? It's for the final season where she sings Unforgettable with Sean on the piano. Absolutely beautiful 🥹
No, it was for the episode where Jack finds her secret nursery.
Will McCormick is definitely under appreciated. I love Debra, but she owes some of her win to Eric because he was so real and authentic as her scene partner. It’s not said often, but scene partners are so important to really bring out the raw acting from their fellow actor.
I always appreciated Veronica Cartwright’s homage to her role in The Birds by wearing Tippi Hedrin’s ensemble.❤
Beautiful that the entire cast has won one that is true talent across the board
Except for Shelley Morrison the actress that played "Rosario".. totally unexceptable..God rest he soul
Loved all the scenes with Beverly Leslie. Sleep in peace, Leslie Jordan.
I had the honor of meeting Leslie one time. He was a true sweeheart.
Debra’s win is my favourite scene in the entire show. It’s so good and shows how talented an actress she is. My only gripe is that it’s not a comedic moment. I feel like comedy performances are often won for serious moments rather than when they’re being funny.
I mean Sean and Eric both won for coming out scenes, not comedy either
I agree. 3 of them won awards for serious scenes. So i find that weird.
Debra messing absolutely killed it in that scene. ❤ that scene has been with me for years. I think it’s one of the peaks of this show if not the highest of them all. Amazing acting. Still give me the chills.
I'm so grateful to know the episodes they won their Emmys for, too. Thank you!!!
I remember that the big fight between will and grace shook me lol
All great scenes and deserved wins. The scene with Mr. Stein is a personal favorite, they were all funny and had me laughing from beginning to end, RIP Gene Wilder 💖
“Hey, look who it is, it’s Will and Grace!” 😂😂
Soooo funny 😂
I'm glad everyone got an Emmy. I wish Molly could have gotten one for Crazy Val 😂
Was she at least nominated? Cause, I agree, she should have won too
@@toramenor Yes she was nominated in one of the reboot seasons.
deffo better than Bobby
@@TonyLeadholm her moaning and being in pain at the same time on the elevator was so funny
I bet Rosario never got nominated 😮
I liked it when they were serious every once in a while
I did too, especially that scene. First time I saw it, I was shocked they got real like that, but I was for it and wanted more of it, lol
That’s so beautiful; the serious moments are what makes a comedy, a comedy.
My favorite show forever and always! The cast-the writing- is everything.
❤❤
Megan was robbed so many times. She deserved much more than two Emmys.
She was one note. No depth of character. Let's recall the show basically ended because she thought she was the star.
@@brianborchardt7198Wrong. The two leads wanted to move on, so the show finished.
The scene where Will and Grace fight over the baby is spine chilling. Hard to watch and anxiety conjuring, but so good.
I am in full menopause and I would love a personal cooling system. I am on my 4th neck fan 😂😂😂
Megan should be on here TWICE.
megan shouldve won like 7 times
@@carljohns3411Having watched the episode submissions of every nominee in that category from 2000-2006, Megan really should have won 4 times.
yes!
This is a gay bar? 😂Can't get enough of Leslie Jordan.
I love the way he says lemon drop and his little jump off his stool in this scene. He really was a fabulous comedy actor.
*I was so happy Willy Wonka won that Emmy in 2003 for guest roll on Will & Grace. My we sure lost a treasure w/ the passing of Gene Wilder* 💜
"Looking back on it....... there have been clues" hahahahha
Megan Mullally you comedic genius😂
Jack's mom played the little girl named Cathy in the 1963 Hitchcock movie, THE BIRDS.
She also had a very nice stint on the series "L. A. Law."

3/4 won the Emmy for what is in reality a dramatic performance
But, it was a dramatic performance in a comedy show. If you think, almost every comedy show at some point in their run had at least one dramatic scene. They become so much more powerful because no one expects them in a comedy series. This one in "Will and Grace" is phenomenal.

Debbie Reynolds should've won at least once.
First saw Bobby Cannavale's 🎭work,
in the 2003 film "The Station Agent".
Looked forward to him, since then.
Thank you for this! I always wondered what episodes they won for. 😊 You missed Megan's second Emmy in 2006.

The dramatic moments between Eric and Debra were always the most riveting. Debra really brought it with the fight over having a baby with Will.
All of them are/were such amazing actors ❤
Tissues on hand for this lovely scene. The musical score in the background is emotively wonderful. I adore the TWYLT song. ❤❤❤❤
WELL DESERVE!!! WILL & GRACE SHOW WILL BE LEGENDARY

Gene Wilder, with the limited time he had on the show, left an impeccable mark on it. RIP
RIP Leslie Jordan. For real this time.
Didn't Megan Mullally win 2 emmys
Yes she did
I am just so glad that Leslie Jordan got his emmy!
I think this is only sitcom in history that all of its lead characters who an Emmy award.
Golden Girls, Schitt's Creek, Mary Tyler Moore, ....others?
@@beaellie9766not Mary Tyler Moore. Gavin McLeod didn’t win. The series are; All in the Family, Golden Girls, Will & Grace and Schitt’s Creek
Seinfeld would have but Jason Alexander was always against Michael Richards and Michael won them all!
I can’t imagine what it must have been to be in the audience, watching Debra Messing give that performance.
Kinda sad that Hayes and Messing's comedy Emmy's were only won when they went dramatic. They were both worthy of Emmy's for their funny work.
I’ll say

If you close your eyes Beverly Leslie sounds just like Blanche Deveraux
