I love this technique. Reminds me of the technique where you color the paper first and then coat the embossing folder with black pigment ink. I like this one better because you can put the color down and know where it’s going. Gorgeous cards!
I saw this on Splitcoaststampers and thought it was amazing, so I popped over here to TH-cam so I could give you a big THUMBS UP!! Thanks so much for sharing this technique. That mushroom embossing folder is also a favorite of mine, so I'm going to try this technique today using that folder. Finally another option for my unused EF collection!
The first few times I watched this, I convinced myself I probably couldn't do it, but I was going to try. I'm stunned at how easy this is and how incredible it works.
Oh wow! If it wasn’t after midnight, I would run down to my craft room now to try this out. I love 3d embossing folders, and can’t wait to try out this (new to me) technique. The results are stunning. Thank you
@@UnderstandBlue I have now completed several of these striking backgrounds, and I absolutely love them. This technique will definitely go into my regular rotation, especially when my mojo is running low. Thanks again!
I love this technique and even though I am in a wheelchair or recliner I can still do this way of coloring the embossing folders. And I get beautiful results! Thanks so much for creating it. Bless you!
Oh my goodness, this is absolutely STUNNING! I would have been scared to try that thinking it would have ruined the already beautiful ink blending but it took it from pretty to WOW! Thank you so much for sharing!
This technique creates super-effective cards, and yours are exactly that. I also saw other crafters use the brayer to apply black ink, perhaps it's easier than trying to be careful with the ink pad. You did a great job; those cards will bring joy to their recipients.
These Card Fronts are absolutely Gorgeous and Perfect b❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. I don't have 3D folders yet, but hoping sometime soon and I will surely make a try 😊.. Very Beautiful technique 👌 😍. Thank you for your inspiring talent and Tutorial.
How interesting! I did this technique several months ago following David Roodenburg's video: th-cam.com/video/8kLQhDSbFGs/w-d-xo.html . He just painted the cardstock first & THEN inked the embossing folder with black. Inserted cardstock into folder and ran through die cut machine! Stunning results. Look forward to trying this version...either way, it's quite an impressive technique!
Yes - I've done that as well. You don't always get full coverage and it can be a bit messy so this is a fun alternative! Thanks for the video - I'll watch it!

Thank you! Yes the other one doesn't give as good coverage and is messy!
Actually, I didn't find it messy and got great results. Look forward to trying your variation though!@@UnderstandBlue

Brayer is a great idea! You'd just want to have a light touch and work on something squishy like a MISTI mat

#Replay what is the name of the 3-D embossing folder that you’re using?
I don't know the names as they are a little older but I provided a link.
FYI, the link just goes to Spellbinders ...not the specific folders you used@@UnderstandBlue
Spring Burst is one of the names (Spellbinders)
Yowza!!!
Thanks Donna!
Can you use and black ink pad? ❤
I find the foam type I used to give the best coverage - but try what you have!
@@UnderstandBlue thank you! I will order a foamtype one. Thank you! You make it look soo easy 🌷
