  • Hello friends, this video is about the build of lathe machine. In this video I have made a mini lathe machine for metal working. I have fixed my drill machine in this lathe instead of spindle. this lathe machine works very well on materials like iron,aluminium,wood,mild steel and plastic. the lathe bed is made up of iron pipes and the rails are made of metal sheet 6 mm thick. I have made a 4 way tool post for this lathe because it has a good grip on a cutting tool and it can also hold 4 different tools in its 4 slots. Moreover, this lathe machine works very accurately.
    NOTE: This video is an official video of APS tools channel, the reuploadation of this video in any way and by anyone is strictly prohibited.

    Well done! You are a fine craftsmen, I enjoyed every minute of your video. Subscribed and the bell on, going to watch some of your other videos now. Very impressed with your skill!!
    And to see that you did it on a table without a lot of fancy tools makes it even more impressive. I would much rather watch a guy like yourself building something amazing than a guy with a million dollars worth of tools, it proves how good you truly are.
    Don't even listen to the negative comments, most of them are out of pure jealousy at your skill level,

    A lot of experts at work here giving negative feedback... i am sure is is not the safest or best built in the world but this guy literally built it with scrap pieces using a drill and a screwdriver practically on a kitchen table....
    don t get discouraged by the “experts”, everyone started somewhere and then learned to get better, keep up trying (and wear some safety equipment.😉)

    Nice idea,people don't understand that this idea in not for professional work, but good for DIY guys like me, was searching to get easy idea for lathe so I can make aluminium pullies, and seems this will work, I'll use half hp motor instead of drill to mill aluminium, nice idea👍👍👍 god bless you

    1st off; don't worry about the negative comments. Just ignore them.
    Personally, I think it's a pretty cool idea. Maybe just a couple changes to the base ( good, strong welds, instead of bolts), and definitely a better motor. Just some constructive criticism. I'd love to see another video of it, after the modifications are done.. Definitely a cool project.. Thanks for the video..🍻🍻👍👍

    You need to add gibs made from brass or a softer metal that you can put between the ways and the cross slide. That will help improve the accuracy. Great Idea. I'm going to try my own now!

    This guy is a true engineer, in every sense of the word. You've made a wonderful product that will stand the test of time, but I dont think I could count the number of times you just bring out some new component that youve made by hand and all you do is indicate that this part goes on next. I mean, I think I can do about 85%-95% of everything youve done in this video, but I would have a LOT of "practice" pieces and "do-overs". Even after all of that, at the end of MY project, I would still have about a dozen things that I would just have to learn to deal with! As far as seeing a cool project video with an awesome shop product at the end of it, this video is fanastic! But if you're looking to build your own lathe and don't have a ton of experience, maybe just start smaller or look elsewhere!

  • @rinooneone3

    Le daré like por el trabajo realizado aunque yo le haría algunas modificaciones como: No utilizaría un taladro directamente tal y como lo hizo si no otro motor donde fijaría el mandril de un taladro. Le haría un sistema a la coordenadora mas robusto y mejoraría el sistema del riel principal para tener mayor precisión en la operación y por ende un mejor trabajo. En términos generales buen trabajo y buen aporte, da buenas ideas. Saludos!!!

    I just made a wood turning lathe powered by a drill, and thought that it was pretty useless. Made me look around for softwood to turn because I couldn't get good results with hardwood.
    I think using a drill might be okay if you use a couple of big bearings to separate the drill from the work you're turning. That way, you can save the drills weak bearings from axial load and get your larger bearings to provide rigidity that people are complaining about. I'm gonna try that on my lathe.

    • @Louis-op4zj
      @Louis-op4zj ปีที่แล้ว

      At what point do you just pull the motor out of the drill, or set up a proper fixed motor?

    • @BrassLock

    • @BrassLock
      @BrassLock ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Louis-op4zj OK.
      I misunderstood your comment to mean that the motor from a hand drill could be taken out (like a motor from a desk fan) and used to power a lathe.
      But you mean to remove parts and service them. Yes, of course you can do that.

    • @Louis-op4zj
      @Louis-op4zj ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrassLock if you can take it apart for service or repair. Then you can take it apart to break it down into seperate parts.
      Would it not stand to reason, once removed, you could then repurpose those parts. Circuitry, motor, and chuck?
      Then, I dunno, fashion some mounts to use the parts, without the rest of the drill. To use the mechanical/electrical drill internals, but with a better mounting set up?

    Impressive what you built with so little tools, but designs not so good, because too much strain on drill, that drill chuck and bearings are gonna be gone within a week of use, if not sooner. You need to figure a way to support that drill chuck, and remove working pressure from it.
    Still a thumbs up!

    I'm not overly interested in what he built , But I see his gift for ingenuity ! Also his enthusiasm ! But a lot of people couldn't see this ! They are blinded by their anger and jealousy so they complain about all the wrong they can find cause that's all these people can see now ! That's what being hateful does to you ! I know cause it happened to me , But then a good friend was able to reach me and point out these faults to me and made me realize . I am almost Certain that this comment will only get more anger from the people I spoke of , But that's to be expected. I hope that if it even reaches just one person an shows them ,.... Then its worth it. This evil hate has infected a whole lot of people , You see it in the comment section like here for an example . I wish people of today could take 20 minutes to look at how people acted in the early 1900"s to see the huge difference ! People back then were so considerate to one another ! And people got along so much better ! Just look at how well behaved the children were back then !!! Can't people see we have changed for the worse !?!? The only people that can fix this is us ! Our government can't fix it and they don't want to either !! What if people just took 20 minutes to look at the way people of the early 1900"s acted ? What if we figured out we are slowly killing each other off ? what if we changed back to the way people acted back in the early 1900"s ? Ask yourself this ,.. Do you like the way people are today ? Do you trust anyone ? Good luck and God bless.
