Thanks to my close friend Mike, I borrowed his OP 41 for this presentation. What is even cooler, is his son Cole created the music for the intro. You guys are awesome!
This watch makes a solid case for a 'one watch' type of collection. Provided you don't rely on a date complication. It is hard to beat in terms of comfort, versatility, and reliability. I take a fair look at the actual watch in this review- not focusing on availability or appreciation. Let me know what you think!

I have the OP41 in the black dial, and it is fantastic! The light play on the dial is mesmerizing.
The Stella colors are more fun but this one is way more understated and wearable. I have it on order from an AD who accepted a deposit. It may be one of the few models we can actually get on a wait list for. Great look at this dial. Thanks Bruce.
In this current time you cannot order this piece, I got lucky on mine a month ago. My AD hit me up with the exact watch, and I’m loving it!

I have worn Rolex for years and bought quite a few, based on which models and dials I like best. The sad part of the hobby along with the difficulties in obtaining several brands now is that Rolex demand is heavily biased to resale value rather than enjoyment. Take this blue dial for example. On the datejust and SD people cannot get enough of the blue dial, because the self for more on the grey market. Remove the date (the OP), and the blue dial lover's suddenly become a green or turquoise dial lover and have no time for the blue. Because that is what sells for the most. For collectors, seeing people behave increasingly this manner is like watching the death eaters on Harry Potter sucking the soul out of the hobby.
Is what it is now, watches have become the new diamonds 💎.
Great review and have considered this one or the black dial. I have the blue OP39 in collection, but I don't have the issue of associating with the Seattle Seahawks as am in UK.

The colour changes so much depending on the light and the angle. Everything from a dark blue to almost a bright grey-blue.
Despite the other colours being more sought after, this was and still is my first choice for wearability.

Do you feel it’s very easy to pull off in a more dressy/fancy setting? Or does it still look too sporty in those types of settings? OP 41 vs DJ41
@@edelmar17 I’m convinced it could be used in a fancy/ dressier setting as well.
This is the Rolex I wanted. My AD could not get me one, however she did get me a Datejust 41. I agree on the bracelet taper, it looks and feels great. Wonderful watches. Thin on the wrist, so well made, and incredibly accurate and robust. I love mine.
How are you liking the datejust compared to the OP? I am in a similar situation and not sure if I should just wait or switch over to the datejust.
@@fog561 I love my Datejust. The date complication and cyclops are incredibly useful. The hour markers are more symmetrical than those on the OP. The PCLs on the bracelet make the watch look very upscale. I am 100% satisfied with owning a Datejust vs. an OP.

I am in a similar situation. I fell in love with the OP41 but due to availability, the DJ41 might be more accessible than the OP41. I love how the DJ41 looks in blue with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, but my concern is it might be too dressy to pull off in a “GADA” situation, which is why I loved the OP41.
@@edelmar17 I agree and that is why I got a DJ41 with smooth bezel and oyster bracelet. It looks great dressed up or down. I do love the fluted bezel/jubilee bracelet look but thought that was a bit dressy for a GADA watch.

It is definitely a do-all watch. You used the term “disappears”. That’s spot on. It blends in to the wrist like nothing else. I prefer the DateJust 41 to the OP but if you want a no-date option.. it’s awesome….. if you can get one….. at 5900 retail. Good luck with that.
It looks amazing, but I still prefer the silver one with yellow gold marks.
Waited this blue 41 OP over a year - still 1-2 years of waiting left. But I think it will be worth of it. Love this watch!
A very nice everyday watch in a great dimension. This is what I consider a perfect size. For sure this model is my favorite in the whole Rolex line up.
When I’m alerted that Bruce Williams has created a new video I look forward to watching it. But when I see it’s regarding Rolex, the brand that is overhyped, impossible to buy, and the brand that AD’s have the power to deem whether I’m “worthy” of owning or not, I’ll just hide it or scroll on.
Bruce, you’re better than that. Don’t give em the time of day.
Oh, and btw, this is not sour grapes. I’m the owner of a couple of subs, one blue and one black, but have turned my back on them. They don’t deserve my loyalty and the sooner real watch enthusiasts realise this the better
I'm very glad you enjoy the content Michael, I do try to cover a wide range of brands, and that will never change. But me covering Rolex will also never change. Not only do I personally enjoy many of the models, but the topics are very relevant to today's collecting scene. I just bought another one and am excited to cover it on my channel :)

I love the current OP and the older 39mm version. For me the one that works is the silver dial (I know a lot of people may consider this boring) but at my age I can't pull off the wonderful bright fun youthful colourful dials. In silver (more like champagne) it's timeless for me, a classic.
Less is more. I own the 36mm 2021 Explorer. For me it's my one and done for now and for a long time. However, I would get the dark blue/Navy blue 36mm OP.
@@Milofchg I am tempted by the Explorer 36, I tried a Tudor Black Bay 36 the other day to try and get a view of how a 36 would look on my wrist. I was very surprised how well it fitted and looked. I think you made a wise choice with the 2021 Explorer.
Me too, just love the standard silver dial OP41 or Datejust 41 first choice with no hesitation. Grey market Prices are a little beyond me at the moment, hopefully I’ll find an AD with sensible wait list duration.
I told the AD I was open to any color. When I finally got the call from the AD, she offered me the 41 OP silver, so I went with fate. It's a beautiful watch. Thing that wowed me the most was the 18k yellow gold plated dial hands-so elegant.
The 36 vs 41 debate seems to be reminiscent of the iPhone Pro vs iPhone Pro Max debate. Personally, I was coming off an 44mm Apple Watch and the 36 seem like a women's watch. I'll trust the 36 is just as elegant as everyone makes it out to be, but champagne colors of my 41 achieves this just the same.
I was so fortunate to receive the call from my AD recently regarding my enquiry on the watch featured in this video. Someone ordered the watch however, unfortunately due to personal circumstances he was unable to purchase the watch. My AD contacted me and I was able to purchase my beautiful Rolex 41 MM Oyster Perpetual with stunning Blue dial within 2 weeks of being on the list ! I was absolutely delighted with it.

I saw a 36mm OP black dial at my AD over the weekend and was really impressed. The dial is beautiful! The pics of the dial online definitely do not do it justice. My only “complaints” were the hands (I simply prefer the Mercedes handset) and the clasp (the lack of the folder over lock is not ideal). Overall, it’s a great piece and could definitely be someone’s only watch. For me, the Explorer still beats the 36mm OP.

Yeah I wish they were a bit bigger, just too small for my wrist. Nice for guys with medium / smaller wrists though.

Hard choice!!! I love that green, but ultimately I think the Explorer 36mm will be a better every day watch... Easier to read the time, small and subtle...Safety clasp...Great looking little thing...Classic...

At the moment bought a vintage 6100-8000 Seiko Skyliner for £280 from Japan and honestly it looks like a vintage datejust or patek... it is amazing what you can get in vintage Seiko world
But yes in a few years maybe black dial OP36

Love this case shape from Rolex. They wear beautifully. There are some things you don't get from many of the other big brands out there. Talking retail prices of course. The Rolex is nice and thin and will run nearly perfectly. I love, say, the Globemaster but it wears like a brick relatively. A patek Aquanaut is 22k and doesn't even hack or keep as good of time (great looker though). This is an awesome watch for less than 6k. No longer entry level Rolex, I think the OP's are a good value.
I really dig this watch and would love to buy one unfortunately at this time my daughter's wedding is more important, so my funds are spoken for, for a bit.

Yep, 41 mm is too big for my 6.5" wrist, but 39.5 would be just perfect. This will be my next Rolex. Hopefully I can get one in 2022.
Trying to get my first ever Rolex. After research, I’m having trouble deciding between. OP36 or DJ36. Hmm.
This is a lot of watch at AD Price. It has a great presence and same movement of a submariner no date. Best value Rolex. Unfortunately they are so in demand that paying double or triple retail price doesn’t make sense. But definitely a great piece to own. Great quality on the video
Dig it, but did not fit my 6.5 inch wrist. The end links extend wide with minimal downturn. The 36 wears better but it’s a little small.
I agree the 36mm wears better on wrists less than 7 inches.
I reaally wanted to be in the OP36 team, as I like understated watches. I had the opportunity to try both the OP36 and OP41 that were already allocated, and was surprised that the OP41 was the most appropriate one looking at a full-sized mirror, on my 7” wrist. That is the one I decided to get, if I will ever get it haha

I own this watch and it's perfect! In my opinion it looks better with my business wear than my casual wear. But that is my opinion.
Does any other ‘higher end’ brand does the markers and indices in white gold?
Great watch at 6k. More than that on the gray market? I think there are better options.
Great looking every day watch. I personally would love to see female end links on more bracelets or have it as an option. This makes some of my watches wear so much better.
I want the dark blue in 36mm. I hope that will be easier to get than the bright colors dial variations. Not a bad price for a Rolex.
Hi Bruce , nice video . Just a small point AR coating is applied to the underside of the crystal on this model and I believe all the new OPs and I’d imagine new subs etc .

One of the few Rolex watches I like and want. Could be your main or only watch. What alternatives at affordable price, Monta Nodus , many Similar Seiko Persage models or the Tissot Gentleman.
My favorite modern OP is the white grape colour of the previous version as it is the closest 2 tone version for modern OP which does not launch 2 tone or gold anymore.

OP 34, 36 or 39 for a 16cm (6.3") circumference wrist? 50mm across.
Mine is 6.5 in, I'd recommend 36mm

Bruce, I saw somewhere written that Rolex measures the case between 2 and 8 or between 4 and 10 (same thing), not between 3 and 9. Can you check what is the size of the case if you measure the diameter diagonally?

That is the exact Rolex I wanted. I was planning to wear it very regularly. It was impossible to get at my AD, so I bought a Datejust 41. I don’t wear it as much as I would like, I’m scared to scratch all those polished bits. It’s sad that we can’t just walk in an AD , try on an entry level watch an buy it.
Put protective stickers on it. A little pain to apply but besides the bezel everything is pretty well protected.
I'm on a waitlist for a black one. This is my favorite.

The OP 41 is awesome and I would love to have one! But, the Omega AT is also awesome, cheaper, comes in some great flavors and it can actually be purchased.

I’d love to do the same for my mum, but not where she lives. I’ve no doubt heartless thugs would violently mug her on the streets for the watch in broad daylight without hesitation. I’d hate to put my mother in that situation.
Datejust 41 also measures 39.5. Go figure.
Isn’t the date just 41 nearer 40 . Think I’d get a date just plain bezel and oyster bracelet, that way you get the essential cyclops eye 👁 for me anyway, I love the cyclops, wouldn’t have a Rolex without it 🤩👍🏻🤔😂😎

I can't believe I've been waiting for almost a year for an OP 41 (not even one of the new color dial variants) and a few other models that aren't even the most sought after. I'm seriously starting to look elsewhere at this point.

I don't know what kind of filters you used to convert the video, but the watch doesn't look like that, unless it's some kind of fake watch? It lacks the dynamics it has. You won't see such a bright dial in all its glory on this model. Where do you see Royal Blussy Blue here? It looks like you would want to make Bright Blue a version of Mint Green.

@3:26 is it just me or what, it seems the dial isn’t lining up right. Pay attention to the white block between the case and the 1 o’clock indices, note the gap from the edge of that white block to the case, compare the same spot over at the 11oclock side. It seems to me that the entire dial is shifted to the left.

Lack of AR coating and feeling too self conscious about wearing a Rolex is ultimately why I sold my Rolex. I'm much happier now with my Oris 65 36mm and I took a nice trip with the extra $$.

The OP is the most "watch" watch you'll ever see-- Somebody says "draw a watch" and they'll probably draw this. With that said, I literally couldn't care less about Rolex as a brand right now, as they're literally impossible to obtain at retail, and they don't really offer anything over other brands for the price. Not a bad product, but not one worth the hype or money IMO.
