Cool video! Brings back memories of when I used to go to Pick-A-Part in Sun Valley, CA almost every weekend way back in the 80's. I picked up one of those 4L80E's a few years back from a '99 Suburban for $850 so you got a great deal on those.
Check those Express vans. Non
LS case early 4L80, leave it, fools gold.
Nice score, To bad that Nova's rearend is gone
Would the earlier 4L80 be better bolting up behind an older 454 vs the newer? Is the earlier one you found not an "E" I'm thinking about adding one to a Chevelle and was wanting the strength of the 4L80 over a 700R4. Any idea what kind of power a stock one can handle? Thanks!
You will need a TP sensor if you are using a carbureted engine. Which transmission you use depends on what is controlling it (stock PCM or stand alone). In stock form they can handle a lot of power.
1 broken, 1 older version, no discount, haven't looked inside, but a huge score?
4l80 score the bad part 4l80 very heavy !
looks like Oceansides LKQ yard.
how can you tell if you have a 4l85e from the outside?
