This is my favourite film of the trilogy. Thanks so much for this 😊

I just rewatched Sunrise & Sunset while reading the screenplays as it played. I'm in my late 20s, and have been doing some reflecting around relationships and friendships myself. I've watched these movies so many times, but only now did I really feel that sense of yearning that Jesse & Celine feel for past relationships. It's pretty cool how you can dust off a new thing to see in these movies as time goes by. That meaninglessness they feel is an important marker of how there's more to life than maybe the way we're living it. Love your essay, it really captured that

I have just literally watched Before Sunset - come on to TH-cam and here I find your review. I never tire of this trilogy and find something to relate to in all three films ( but with different women though ;) ) Probably my favourite out of the three movies , sadly unlike Jessie and Celine - I never got my Nina Simone moment :) Good review , I look forward to your Before Midnight video. Much respect from the UK.

Thank you so much! So glad you liked it! Hope you check out my Before Sunrise review if you haven't already. The Before Midnight piece will becoming this year, hopefully sooner rather than later, but I don't have an exact date. But, yeah, all three of these films (and the reviews I write for them) are all very personal for me. While it can be emotionally difficult to get through sometimes, the trilogy means so much to me. Again, thanks for watching.

@@TheCinematicPackrat1 - really liked what you said in your Before Sunrise review that how its a wonderful tonic to all the crazy stuff happening in the world at the moment. I find similar solace in Lost in translation as well and while LIT is a bit more dream like and stylised - I can relate to also. Thanks for your reply, cheers again ;)

@@scootertart Thank you! Glad you liked and could relate to that thought. Always worry that I'm nonsensical in my reviews. Haha. Cheers! :)

Thank you for making this video essay. Short and yet so heartfelt picks up every point that Ive connected to in my multiple rewatches and then presents even more. Loved it. Wishing you a lot of success and the very best.

Lovely review. I "bought" all three movies on YT during the first lockdown. I had seen BSR when it came out, being the same age as the characters.
It was the most enchanting movie I had ever seen. At that time, cinema was already somewhat expensive and special, so part of my movie going was to look at the movie posters on the way out.
I remember the guys I was with, my then bf and our room mate, wanted to march on, but I was the romantic one who kept lingering behind, wanting to soak up that last crumb of magic.
Years later, I watched BSS and was captivated by their so relatable struggles.
Until I watched the first two on YT, I didn't even know about the last one! Imagine my joy finding out by accident (?) about a third chapter of their story!
I am now married and a mom of two, and even though my story is so much different from Jessy's and Celine's, their struggles and their lives' tessellations, as well as the added perspectives of the side characters at the dinner table, I can relate. The scenes stand the test of time, being re-watched, again and again.
    Their conversations are ours.
The Before Trilogy is a brilliant masterpiece of writing.
Thank you for reviewing the movies.

Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story. It took me a long time to watch the films, but they mean so much to me now. They hit home in more personal ways then I can probably ever describe.
If you're interested, I also did videos on the first and third films as well.

Can you believe that I've never seen this movie? I need to! I loved the first one so much! This review is definitely something I can relate to, especially at this middle-aged point of my life! Thanks for a wonderful video!

I'd share it if more people had seen this wonderful series. I've rarely found anybody who has seen them all or even heard of them.
