So my Colt is a Match Target Lightweight with the sear block, large trigger pins and A2 butt stock. The upper is a A2 upper with a threaded A2 birdcage, and 20 inch 1/9 HBAR non chrome lined.
Hi! I have really enjoyed watching your series on the AR15. In 1978 I bought, in a pawn shop in Wilmington, NC a brand new AR15A2 Model 6532, serial number started with SP. It had a fixed handle, regular stock, bayonet lug with the birdcage flash hider, forward assist, chambered to 223. It had a fixed rear sight (not the wheels for elevation and windage). In going through the internet (TH-cam) I have yet to see another rifle like this. with these features. I paid $780. It was stolen from me in 2015. It has a very unique serial number.
This video is a huge help! I have a match target lightweight with the fixed carry handle but it has a telescoping stock and flashhider. I've been passively trying to figure out what it is for the last few years and this video is great! It's a wonderful rifle, far better accuracy than all of the other ARs
I will never forgive Colt for the assault weapons ban. If they had just stood up to the government, instead of licking their boots, the AWB would’ve never happened. And Colt still would’ve kept their contracts.
Weird I've got a m4 upper(supposedly mil surplus), the only thing off with it is the FSB being marked P7i1. Finally tracked down where the FSB was from and it's from the match target M4, however it's still got the bayonet lug dispute being post ban dated 04-03 on the SOCOM barrel. Its 1/7 twist marked C MP. I believe someone had put the match target FSB on. As the rest of the upper looks like it was combat used or dragged behind a car down the highway but the FSB doesnt have many scratches on it but still well used.
I love you guys Mr and Mrs Bartocci. I love your reviews. Only thing I am not quite fond of is Colt. Personally I feel Colt is Anti-American. But its nice to see new guns anyways.
This isn't my lane, but I remember being told the compensator does nothing for function, other than pushing the gas up to help with muzzle lift, and dirt when in the prone. But an accurate rifle does not have it. The Remington 700/M24 doesn't have one. So I find that interesting that it was banned. I remember it too. It was banned because of how it looks.
@Thystaff Thywill Exactly, has nothing to do with accuracy. Thats a very broad statement to say that "an accurate rifle does not have a compensator" and simply, respectfully incorrect.
That ban really sucked! I was 17 so I couldn't get the stuff I really wanted tell it was over. I had the make due with thumb whole stock aks with no flash hidder. Looking back i should have just ignored the ban and put the right furniture on
I remember when they came out with those match target ARs, I thought they were ugly and looked neutered to me. In the Marine Corps I was issued the M16A2 back in the late 80s. I'll keep my Colt AR15A4
SmallArmsSolutions Sweet! Love your content man quality production and so informative. I watched your video about the MK12 mod1 and I ordered a complete upper the same day lol
At least they kept producing during those times. When I was shooting camp then with an m1, I thought that the neutered ar looked strange. However, they shoot well.
@@SmallArmsSolutions if the bore was not lined or treated, does the chrome-valdium steel barrel have corrosion resistant properties? I'm assuming so since it has some chrome in the alloy. Thank you and hope you guys will also post your videos on Rumble too!
Haha, I still have AR15s from the AWB era, but about all that's left of either of them are the receivers and some of the lower parts. I still have one of the AWB uppers, I would like to tear it down and rebuild it but I have like 10,000 other things I need to do first.
Having become a gunowner in the 90s and from NY, this still gives me nightmares. My newer gunowner friends think I'm a hoarder because of that. They don't understand the consequences of not being politically vigilant.
unless you want to have reliability problems with your ar15 or even have your ar15 blow up in your face, you better buy a Colt. It's expensive for a reason, the quality is top notch.
Hey Chris, I have a question for you. I have what I think is a pretty old LE6920 with an Export Restricted rollmark and .172 rollpins. It has a low 00xxxx serial number and it was a police cruiser carbine for many years. I'm wondering if my rifle is a 1st or 2nd year production LE6920?
I have a question that u may be the only person that knows the answer...my first Le6920 has markings on the mag catch.almost like a mold number, mine is a sideways 6 or 9 .its a 2013 production..I’ve searched and searched with no answers.i have seen pics of Similar markings on other colts..1 was a commando and one was a police trade in.any info would be appreciated
I still will never understand the need to ban pistol grips and adjustable stocks....bayonet lug and grenade launcher sight I can understand the logic even if I disagree.
Because it's a way to ban semi-auto/commercial variants of military weapons without having to constantly update the list of weapons banned by name. Military weapons have collapsible/foldable stocks while fudd guns didn't (some "hunting"/"sporting" weapons now have folding and adjustable stock options). Same thing with the grenade launcher hardware and bayonet lugs. Military weapons have bayonet lugs because the military wants the ability to mount them. Most commercial guns don't. When they banned those features they didn't fear a mass grenading or a mass bayonetting. They just wanted manufacturers to be banned from pulling guns out of their manufacturing lines and offering civilians what they offer to the military. What they didn't foresee would be that importers/manufacturers would simply remove those features.

I like you. I think we would get along great, I love your attitude. I just love to hear when people give the govt a middlefinger.
Colt’s political blunders really helped open up and expand the AR market to what it is today.

I found a Colt Match Target at my local gun store selling for $500.
That was a deal if it didn’t have condition issues

great series, thanks
You should do a video about the Centurion Arms MK11 (SR25) receiver set because I respect your opinion.
DjFingerSlinger I will, count on it.

What would be the correct color for my lower on my xm4 720? I have a colt "carbine" marked lower but want to color match my xm4 720 upper. Thanks

You can look up the serial number via the Colt website online.
@@JoeyP322 Tried, and I tried every different way to put in the serial number from just the number itself, prefix included, etc. Nothing.

You have to send in a small donation with question submitted to get a personal answer. Seems fair practice. He will find the answer.
We don't have any of these ridiculous rifles...let's look at some pictures.....lol

Any excuse to the make a ban easier. They would even say a sling mount make it an assault rifle.
