    Great video! The headphone pre MAIN fader tip was an absolute gem! Thanks for that.
    I really wish there was more content on YT about the Model 12. It can be used so many ways, I'd really love to see how others are utilizing theirs.

    Thanks for explaining. Learned a lot from your movies. My next stage would be, after recording a song to make a mixdown where I can use my Tascam Model 12 faders to ajust the volumes.
    Maybe in a video next time? Many thanks. 😄

    Hi! I've been trying to find an answer to this on the manual but can't; can you e.g. connect an input source to channel 3, arm the DAW for monitoring and monitor the DAW's return on channel 3 (thus creating a software insert on channel 3)?

    • @RecordingStudio9

      Depending on the plugin used, there may be some latency issues.

  • @babaluma77
    @babaluma77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks for this overview of the update. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this update still does not allow you to send a main or sub mix to the headphones when the headphones are plugged into the phones input on the Model 12. This means you cannot mix a song or tracks in the headphones, unless you plug them into the headphone socket of an external amp which is fed by the main or sub outs. This seems bizarre to me. I want to mix multitrack songs I've recorded on the Model 12 in my headphones that are plugged into the Model 12 phones socket. I have no interest in hooking up my Model 12 to a DAW by the way. I like it as a stand alone machine, but not having the ability to mix in the headphones drives me nuts.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no reason why you can't mix with headphones, regardless of this update or any USB connection to PC. It's a stand alone mixer and MTR. That's what the headphone outputs are for. Make sure each channel's Main button is selected.
      This update (1.30) allows you to set headphone pre main fader, so that if you have speakers connected to the main XLR output, you can turn the main fader down and still hear the mix in your headphones.

    Hello
    After surfing the internet for a few hours, trying to find the best choice between the various recording consoles (Behringer, Tascam, Zoom, Presonus, etc.), I came across some of your videos about the Behringer Model 12 and decided to buy Behringer. I have been very attentive to your videos, I learn a lot from them and I have put your tips into practice. Just one question, if you please: What am I doing wrong, when I try to mix the recorded material and I don't hear the pan-pot, left/right on the headphones? Could you give me some help please?

    If someone has problems with noise and artefacts when using EQ mid range (it was really bad with my bass drum mic) then get V1.30 and things will be much better! My Tascam was on V1.0 before, maybe the issue was solved with another firmware update. I am happy whatsoever.

  • @jeffpopovich3052
    @jeffpopovich3052 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great update, now I have a question about sub hookup. I'm only using one sub with two full range. Do I run 2 cables from model 12 (sub left and right) to sub (input 1 and 2)?

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sub output is not filtered for just Low frequencies like for Sub-Woofers. It’s just another stereo output. Sub means substitute outputs on mixers.
      Hope this clears up.
      Having said that, you can use Sub outputs connected to sub-woofers and select Bass and Kick drum channels to it to help balance your PA system.

  • @gouhlgambit6296

    Does the usb multitrack record functionality work smoothly if you choose to use another soundcard as the output? I have no need to send the daw output to the Tascam at all and would much rather ave those two channels being used for no reason. If anyone runs the mixer like this do you aggregate the Devices?

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can aggregate 2 interfaces and use the second just for output.
      If you are on Windows OS, here is a demo th-cam.com/video/YFux87bvCG4/w-d-xo.html

      I explain in detail in my other videos. Yes, recording in both DAW and SD card same time, 10 inputs plus main.

  • @PeterMossUkulele

    Hi - I have subscribed to you. Am I right in saying that if I am hosting a Zoom call and connected via USB from the model 12 to my Mac, the return audio would return into channels 1 & 2? - would'nt that make them redundant as inputs? If this is true, is there a work around? I am trying to operate without a DAW. Please help. Thank you.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Mic connected to Ch1 or Ch2 still gets sent to Zoom, the return from Zoom on Ch1 & 2 then can be heard. I don't know if Zoom supports multi-channel audio selection.

  • @Tanax13
    @Tanax13 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Stupid question, but is it possible to record in the DAW via USB channels being sent to the sub mix? Or can you only access channels being sent to the main mix? To clarify, I would plug my guitar into say channel 3, have it sent to sub mix which would go out into my guitar amp processor (digital modeler) and then out from that modeler back into say tracks 4+5 which is sent to main. I don't want to HEAR my sub mix (since it's my raw guitar tone) but I would still want to record it to be able to do re-amping later. Is this possible? :)

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are routing the audio correctly.
      Ch 3 into your DAW or MTR will be the raw/dry audio, then with only SUB enabled, will only go out of SUB outputs into your rig. The return to inputs at CH4 & 5 and the wet audio will be sent to DAW on CH 4/5 or on the MTR. Having CH4/5 with MAIN enabled, you hear the guitar tone you like, but still, have the raw guitar for re-amping.
      This video might give you extra help th-cam.com/video/_ARIvL9D4aM/w-d-xo.html

    Is there a way to send PC audio output to channels 9/10? Its really annoying having to use both channel 1 and 2 together for audio output as now I need to use two faders to manually balance the left and right speakers. And I want to use those channels for instruments.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, just set your DAW main output to 9/10. That’s what I do as well.

      @@RecordingStudio9 I was hoping to perform with live instruments and software instruments and be able to adjust/edit the tracks simultaneously. It sound's like I'll just need one extra midi controller for the ableton so it's not a huge deal I think.

    Hi! Is it possible to receive back audio from DAW in every channel in other to do an analogic summing such as in Soundcraft 22 MTK or just in channels 1 and 2 as you said?

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you get 10 return back to each channel from DAW. But, the mixer is not analog, so you won't be getting that 'analog' sound. Here is my playlist th-cam.com/video/4juXv0gCfY8/w-d-xo.html

    Could I just use one of 7/8 or 9/10 channels so they can be mono tracks instead while in standalone? Or do they have to be stereo? Thank You.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Weather you record mono or stereo on 7/8, 9/10, they are mono stem files, meaning file for 7, and file for 8 etc.

    Hi, I recently bought this mixer for recording drums into logic pro x. Issue is my recordings sound really low and far away. Mics are beta 52, sm57, sm58, sennheiser 604, sterling condenser mic. Is this a good mixer for drums and guitars? I'm coming from apogee duet 2.

    Thanks for this. My problem is using Logic and GB in my Mac M1, I can get any other platform to playback through the Model 12., like a TH-cam video, or Amazon music, for example..But I can't get sound to playback through the Model 12 from Logic, it sees the mixer, and it will react to inputs, but the sound will not come back through the mixer. It will playback through my regular powered speakers, though. I'm at my wit's end, trying to figure this out. It makes no sense, to me.

    • @RecordingStudio9
      @RecordingStudio9  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't own a Mac, but check the Logic X main output and make sure it's CH 1&2 and set the Mode switch to PC for those channels (I assume you already do as you can hear TH-cam). Check your Mac's Core Audio setup too. In few of my Model 12 videos, I demonstrate how I use CH 9&10 as my return audio from my DAW, that might help you understand as well.

    I am trying to install this new Firmware update but when I uncompress the Zip file it shows 5 files two of which are pdf's, 2 are tiny text files, and one is titled "Model12_88.130" and is 1,711kb in size. It doesn't say "Install" and it doesn't have an .exe extension. I can't get it to open so I can't install this update. Anybody else having this issue?

I can see what the sample and bit rates are for the Model 12 (44/42) but I can only see 44.1hz for Studio One and can't find the menu of function that allows me to select or change it.
