I'm seriously considering returning mine. I bought this phone for its alleged long battery life. That certainly hasn't been my experience. I was forced to leave the refresh rate at the standard 60 hertz to save battery. Still, running at 60 Hz does not really do much. A major disappointment. The phone isn't properly optimized to run at 120 Hz. 120 Hz causes the upper edge of the phone to become really hot and kills the battery even faster. Camera quality is mediocre at best. I'm not sure what all these big TH-cam channels are talking about when they praise the camera. I don't see much of a difference in picture quality between its pictures and the picture I took with my Motorola Edge, 2022 model. I'm just unlucky. I had the same issue with the one plus 12. Horrible battery life with that device as well. I had to return it. I'll be returning this Samsung too. The screen looks dull, too. It has an off-white color. It lacks the screen vibrance and oversaturation of colors that previous Galaxy phones were known for. The OS looks very dated. I onwned a note 10 and 20. The new Samsung OS looks and feels very similar to the OS on those much older devices. I wonder what other high-end Android phones are out there with great battery life.
The best phone I have ever had, with the most amazing battery life is my current phone Honor Magic 6 pro. I'm having 2 days of battery life and I watch a lot of TH-cam and social media. I have bought Realme, Samsung, Motorola and many more, I have returned them all..All the youtubers are becoming money or benefits to say goooood things about the flagship phones. Try a Honor Magic 6 pro, you will not be disappointed, if it's not good you can return it. Greetings from Germany

Social media apps will kill your battery, it varies device to device and usage patterns, but the optimization will let it run wild if you visit often, browsers and games as well, i get crazy battery, i use QHD, 120 HZ, 50% brightness. On setup of any device i disable background battery and background data usage of games, browsers and social media apps, including meta apps and services. Takes 2 minutes. Some companies restrict apps out the box, i prefer samsungs method because I'd rather restrict a few, rather than enable a 100. I get crazy battery, talking like 1hr per 10 percent and even better depending on the apps used that day. I use a broad list of apps and by restricting the power hungry ones, it doesn't stop functionality, the only tip i would give is, once an app is restricted by both data and battery, if unused for a while, may need an update when you revisit. You have 2 options for data and 3 for battery. Your heavy power usage apps are where you would want to start to experiment and manage.
I'll suggest u to keep Instagram in deep sleep mode as I've noticed multiple times that Instagram secretly drains battery alot, the screen on time increased by about 2 hrs after removing Instagram. So, I tried putting it to deep sleep instead of uninstalling and it was fine. Since, after May update the battery life did improve in my S24 Ultra (India).
@@VelianSpeaksTech well I noticed such differences during the extreme summer here in March-April, idk if such differences will still exist but then u can surely check it cz I've always kept Instagram on deep sleep cz battery life is more important than notifications. 😂
My s24 ultra was constantly warm and the battery life was really bad. I returned it. Samsung didn't want to help me so no more samsung products. Stay away, you will be disappointed. Bad quality and bad customer service.
I would like to know if the poor SOT has anything to do with battery degradation, as I heard a rumour that Samsung changed their supplier to a cheaper provider. I also suspect poor optimisation and maybe the usual problem with Samsung; monthly updates are up and down. I much prefer Apple and other OEMs with updates every 2-3 months; they are less buggy and not rushed. My OPPO Find X5 Pro from 2022 seems more fluid than my S24U, and the battery life on the Oppo is around 6 hours over 24 hours, which is not far behind the newer S24U. I only bought the S24U because the upgrade cost was only £30 with a trade-in. I doubt that I will upgrade again even if I get the same offer. I wouldn't say I like having to sit in the Samsung ecosystem bribed by trade-in deals. I think the Pixel 9 Ultra will be my next phone, and I hope Google offers me a good trade-in for my S24U (currently in the cupboard).
With my S24U i get easily a full day. (of course all set to max). Have you tried a simple restart as Samsung suggested this as many had a issue with the may update regarding battery. Another suggestion would be the connections: I have Wifi6 APs and also the mobile data is turned off while on wifi - should be default no idea why yours is on wifi and mobile data. I use also wifi calling which is considerably battery friendlier
S23 ultra has been struggling to deliver the sot it should after one ui 6.1 I used to get 9-10 hrs of sot with 12-14 hrs of screen off time Now I have to charge it twice a day Hoping they fix this with the 2nd may update (which now has been pushed to june lol)
Guys I slept on 6am and woke up 12 ,it was 27% while I'm sleeping it's wifi is off and everything is off and when I woke up it's 16% what????it was not the same when I bought it
Tough choice, both are very good. If you care bout photography go with Xiaomi, if you care bout video, S24U. Also S24U beat all around, Xiaomi 14U bit more niche.
I also have the same SOT with same app usage and agree with your cariteria but for me this is not accetable at all because Paying so much for a flagship phone and it still perfom like a mid range samsung phone same as my older M21.
Very weird, my s24 Ultra stays good so far, i preordered it, my s22 ultra battery was very very bad, i could not go for 10h without a charge. Currently my S24 Ultra says that Full Charge will last me 23-24h. I use it in FHD instead of QHD as i cannot see the diffrence so rather save the battery, but i also debloated the phone from functions i dont need. BTW im in Europe, so might be diffrent depending on the updates from providers etc. I use EU version of system which is the same between European countries.
My s24u has consistently been great. Sorry some are not experiencing the same.....although i must say i dont use social media on my phone. That sucks data when being used.
Nowadays updates are hit or miss i'm glad for staying on April update i have an S23 Ultra and the battery is doing great so far i used to get 5h consistently over cellular but when i switched to light mode instead of standard i instantly got 1h30 more SOT sometimes even more.
I am still on the March update on my s23U, and it is going normal. Not good and not bad, just normal. Is April update any good? I heard that the April update brought battery issues
I have been trying to figure out why the hell my battery keeps draining so quickly, but I still can't figure it out. I think Samsung needs to send this one ui7 update out with MUCH better battery optimization. I've seen many people having the same problem.
So I get the argument that it's a premium phone so I should be able to use premium features. I have the same ideology honestly. But if you did want to get more out of your phone, main thing you could do was make it so that it only uses 4g and not 5g. Using Facebook and viber you're never gonna need 5g and it just eats through battery. Ps. I've never had the overheating issue on my s24u, even when taking it on a 12 hour hike on a sunny day.
Hey VST, plz do a video on customization services that needs to be enabled if want to use Adaptive battery protection. Like what customization services is, what data does it collect , is it safe etc etc.
Your biggest mistake is using light mode and mobile data, the thing is I don't have any battery issues and I tweaked my S24U settings to have the best performance but also most battery life for that performance, my battery can hold for 2 days on slight use and 1 day on heavy use.

Your YT account was created 6 months ago, when S24 was launched, and you're diss-ing the S24 and praising the iPhone.... Hmmm 🤔
Tell Tim he better invest in improving his iPhone and the Apple ecosystem than funding campaigns that diss the competition 😒
How many hours it was getting from 100 to 20?
I wonder what other high-end Android phones are out there with great battery life.
even oneplus 12 has bad battery !!!!! what should I buy then ?????
The best phone I have ever had, with the most amazing battery life is my current phone Honor Magic 6 pro.
I'm having 2 days of battery life and I watch a lot of TH-cam and social media. Best camera I've seen so far and so on.. I've have made this change from a IPhone 13 pro max. It's 10 time over all phones I've tried so far.
This is quite interesting. I get some days 8hours of SOT but on average 7hours+ on my S23 Ultra.
Hope they fix this asap.
same
Used to be the case... Now I struggle to reach 5 hours
I sold my s24 ultra yesterday for battery issues 😢
What Will you take instead ?
@@Redeerz mine took 4h to lose 40% while not being on. I bought the honor Magic 6 pro and I don't regret anything at all
This is why I switched to iPhone 16 pro max galaxy battery sucks
I have a 24 Ultra with the May update The screen is up to 5 hours or 4 and a half hours on the network, while on Wi-Fi it is up to 5 and a half hours.
Yep, that's what I get circa, acceptable but not enough.
I get upto 7 on wifi (from 80 to 20%) how are you getting such low sot 😭
Same bro I get like 4 hours or 5 on wifi I hope samsung fixes it
Maybe, Removing all and any apps you do not use will help?
Damn I'm very shocked to hear everyone is getting bad battery, which is a main reason I'm considering one plus 12. I'm hoping s25 ultra will improve battery and battery charge speeds
Sooo I'm about to buy one. Have they fixed this ?
Did they?
Nah. I'm avg 4 to 5 SOT with max settings
I ended up buying it. I get a full day. I feel like it could be better. But it's pretty good. I charge once during the day and that's it. Last all day/night
@@Sonny-zr9jg I'm thinking of getting a replacement. I'm a power user on my phone but 4 hours is my avg and that's pretty terrible
@@jegjojo16 I would I I were you. Running the battery down to 0% twice, apparently does the trick (I did do this, but I don't know if I had the issue)
Having the confidence when going out knowing my battery will be fine. Is a nice feeling (i have every setting on all the time. For me, features come first and battery life second)
When purchasing, I kept the receipt(thought I'd have to return after seeing the reviews, but I still bought cause iPhone and google pixel still seemed worse.lol) but it's actually pretty good. I'm happy ! No SD card is fking annoying. Cause they took it out just cause they could. But other than that , I'm pretty happy. (S20+, ultra I still believe was the peak)
S24+ exynos. I constantly get 5.50 to 6 hrs of SoT. I say that it's average and I was actually expecting it to be around 7.50 to 8 like oneplus.
I mean....It is exynos
I think we got thus update late in Canada and my phones a disaster now won't last the day. Apps that used to use 2% battery now use 30%. They needed the phone. Should we do a class action? This is insane
This is so weird i just got my s24 ult 2 days ago and the battery is going down so quick even after i did all the tips like light mode , 60 frame , location off.......etc. to save the battery it barely complete 18 hours + i don't even use my phone a lot just watching TH-cam and most of my time i work I'm sure if i keep using the phone all the time i will have to charge it twice a day like i don't understand what is the problem with Samsung and their updates
Open battery setting, It's learning usage patterns now, soon battery will improve.
Turn off 5G.
Let me try that
@@VelianSpeaksTech well I noticed such differences during the extreme summer here in March-April, idk if such differences will still exist but then u can surely check it cz I've always kept Instagram on deep sleep cz battery life is more important than notifications. 😂
Classic Samsung...it worse after updates.
I hate my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Overheating problems!!!!
My s24 ultra was constantly warm and the battery life was really bad. I returned it. Samsung didn't want to help me so no more samsung products. Stay away, you will be disappointed. Bad quality and bad customer service.
yeah it pisses me off that i get this after 1000 bucks on this crap, with no super amazing camera and no better battery life
I would like to know if the poor SOT has anything to do with battery degradation, as I heard a rumour that Samsung changed their supplier to a cheaper provider.
Not sure about that, the last few ultra phones from Sammy would give me 4-5 SOT mixed... but who knows.
Yes my s24 u gets very hot when check social media and battery is so bad
I'm getting around 7 hours plus screen on time. What are you guys saying? 🤔📱 #batterylife #screenontime
Guys i need help . I only get max like 8 -9 hours from 100 to 15 percent. What to do?
With my S24U i get easily a full day. (of course all set to max). Have you tried a simple restart as Samsung suggested this as many had a issue with the may update regarding battery. Another suggestion would be the connections: I have Wifi6 APs and also the mobile data is turned off while on wifi - should be default no idea why yours is on wifi and mobile data. I use also wifi calling which is considerably battery friendlier
It's been a week since I got mine and I'm not using it very heavily. This shit is making me regret
Is this issue solved yet? Hope I'll get an answer because I am planning to buy this phone.
S23 ultra has been struggling to deliver the sot it should after one ui 6.1
I used to get 9-10 hrs of sot with 12-14 hrs of screen off time
Now I have to charge it twice a day
Hoping they fix this with the 2nd may update (which now has been pushed to june lol)
I also used to get 9-10 hrs sot with One UI 5.1. Now I get 7-8 hrs sot.
Guys I slept on 6am and woke up 12 ,it was 27% while I'm sleeping it's wifi is off and everything is off and when I woke up it's 16% what????it was not the same when I bought it
Same
That's weird. Recently I bought my wife a S23U and after 3 or 4 days, she gets a SOT of 8-9 hours from 100 to 0% (all settings as out of the factory).
What's the alternative ?
Hi.in your opinion s24u or xiaomi 14u?
Tough choice, both are very good.
If you care bout photography go with Xiaomi, if you care bout video, S24U.
Also S24U beat all around, Xiaomi 14U bit more niche.
@@VelianSpeaksTech Thx.i have s24u,but i have oportunity to trade for 14u.never had xiaomi
I think the battery life after this update is better for me on my S24 ultra.
Your camera Focus is so bad omg
The software are terrible for battery life .
Anything new about the battery ??
My s24u has consistently been great. Sorry some are not experiencing the same.....although i must say i dont use social media on my phone. That sucks data when being used.
You have to turn off the battery saving feature. I lost many hours of SOT just because of that. 😊
You mean Adaptive Battery right? Tried that...
@@VelianSpeaksTech No not that. Stopp charging after it reached a 100% then it goes down and little. Battery protect feature has to be off I mean.
I'd choose my Samsung S23 Ultra all day everyday
I bought as pre-book order and having the same issue. Also my resolution is mid one
@i7Aziko I didn't update to April patch i heard there's some issues with battery life and heating overall.
Awesome video
I have been trying to figure out why the hell my battery keeps draining so quickly, but I still can't figure it out. I think Samsung needs to send this one ui7 update out with MUCH better battery optimization. I've seen many people having the same problem.
This is weird first time I'm hearing about this and I can get like a whole 20 hours of charge sometimes
@@SpeedGraff223 after new update?
Battery life socks, my old pixel 6 pro last all day, that's embarrassing. Especially considering the 1300 dollar price tag😢
My battery jumped from 100% to 80 within a hr and i spend hrs on my iPhone 14 pm its still at 88%
So I get the argument that it's a premium phone so I should be able to use premium features.
I literally can't kill my phone like 3 days standby and close to 11 hours SOT😮
Ramplus?? Off or on??
My battery is good on this update
I have max protection on the battery. It only last the morning.
I also have exactly the same issue
Hello wallpaper name please on link 😊
Lunar App
Wallrod App
@@VelianSpeaksTech thanks
Getting about 9h hours with 15% left.
After 6.1 update it's still sucks 😢😢
Just lock the focus ong
Hey VST, plz do a video on customization services that needs to be enabled if want to use Adaptive battery protection.
Like what customization services is, what data does it collect , is it safe etc etc.
Redmi is better
Samsung Galaxy s24 to expensive for nothing like Appel 👎
Yeah at this point samsung is a big disappointment id like to get a redmi but they dont sell where i live sadly
Yeah this phone is trash all around.
Your biggest mistake is using light mode and mobile data, the thing is I don't have any battery issues and I tweaked my S24U settings to have the best performance but also most battery life for that performance, my battery can hold for 2 days on slight use and 1 day on heavy use.
What settings did you do ?
If you need to disable internet to get good battery life the phone sucks
The resolution does not have any impact on battery..
lol wrong
@@ishb3w No he's right. I tested with HD and QHD+ and the difference was around 30 minutes. Not worth it at all in my opinion.
Changing the Refresh rate had a much more difference
August come one ui 6.1.1.. they work with it.. but i dont get under 8h sot never ever this phone if i dont shoot 4k video 2h per day.
I got 5 hrs sot at 60% remaining
Looks like it's a software conflict. I can use it for 6 hours with the screen on. and I updated the latest version and installed the original version at the same time. And the battery is improved with 8 hours onscreen
Idk, i have a real good sot, like 7 to 8 hours
Thats not everything... just wait for burned pixels😂😂😂😂
I just bought the Samsung S23 ultra and it's battery life is terrible. I can barely get 5 hours of Screen on Time. I love Android and not a fan of apple, but if this continues I might have to switch to an iPhone just for the Battery life. Androids are not up to the mark, I'm disappointed to say this, but it's true.
"I'm having serious battery issues with my Galaxy S24 Ultra. 😫 I've only had it for a month and a half, but I have to charge it twice a day. 🔋 It's really disappointing because my old, budget phone could easily last 3-4 days on a single charge. 🤔 I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but the recent software updates might be to blame."
I have both, 23u and 24u. No joke, both phones are fine and i had no issues or battery draining. 24u feels even better since the last Update i just received. Its strange
I get upwords of 13 hrs of screen on time
here i am laughing in 13 pro max with my 2 day battery with heavy usage. averaging about 9-10 hours sot even after 2 years. the s22 ultra was my last android and samsung phone after 12 years of samsung phones. never going back to android. everyone was basically ”omg turn off this and that” or ”wait 2 weeks battery will get better” yeah. it did not. and why turn off all the features that makes it a flagship and expensive af just to get decent battery life? i had around 3-4 hours of sot on my s22 ultra and had to charge it several times a day. my 13 pro max worked perfectly instantly after unboxing it, only turned one thing off and thats it. have never been this happy with a phone. and with ios 18 its becoming even more like an android.
5g outside. For what. Facebook haha
Yo creo que tu equipo tiene una falla, porque el mío me ha dado hasta 10 horas de pantalla activa solo con wi-fi y con datos hasta 8 horas. Brillo automático, Saludos
