I have recently inherited my mother's Bernina 707 Minimatic. I am just starting to teach myself to sew from scratch. I came across this tutorial and it was so helpful. Thank you!
Thank you for posting this video! I own a Bernina Model 708, a simple, Straight-Stitch / Zig-Zag machine, with no decorative stitches. Mine dates to 1968! I really like the machine's large foot control.
I use this machine a lot. I've got mine from my grandmother, who bought it in Belgium in June 1968 (the receipt of the purchase is still in the machine case :-) My Bernina is just a little older than me, and I really LOVE it!!
:) Merci d'avance !
Please post a video of how to change the lightbulb on the 707. Got my machine in 1983 and only replaced the electric cord & that was several years ago! Love my machine!!!
thanks for your demo, just purchased the 708 and you really helped me understand it better. Have you ever figured out how to stop the squeaky foot pedal ?
I recently got my hands on one of these, its my first sewing machine and its been in the family a long time. It needs a little work and I have no idea how to use it, do you think you could do a video on how to give it a real good clean and how to make sure its in working order please? :) Thanky you very much for this video though!
thanks for this! I lost a Bernina (stolen -- and they left all the feet!!) and just found this one in a thrift store. SNAPPED it up. Just so cute: found a rolling travel bag it tucks into nicely. I'm missing the extension table, though: will another model's fit this one? I see a 530 table on ebay right now.
@@thinmansewing1795 Ah! thanks -- are there other model numbers that are 3/4 size you can tell me of? I do miss my former machine: I think it was a 730.

Hi, lovely video, thanks. Can you tell me what thread are you using? is it embroidery thread? It looks thicker than normal thread and I like the look of it. I'm pretty new to sewing myself. thanks again!
@@thinmansewing1795 THANK YOU!! Yesterday I picked up the Bernina 707 Minimatic from the thrift store for $18.00. No manual, but figured everything out now!
I just bought an elder lady’s minimatic and I can’t wait to give it a try. Thanks for lovely video, it helped me decide to go ahead with my purchase.

I have had this machine since 1968 and it's still my quick go-to machine. Love it!

It's a bajonet bulb. Hinge open the front of the machine, little push up and than rotate it a bit. Should drop right out.
Thanks so much for making the video. Very informative and delivered brilliantly :-)

You couldnt have found smaller piece of material

I have a one of these machines but have completely forgotten how to do a buttonhole on it …. Are you able to advise at all please?
Page 25 of the manual shows how. go to bernina.com, support, then manuals, and you can download it.

The 707 is a 3/4 size machine and the 530 and 730 are full size. So, no it won't fit. Lucky you to find one at a thrift store.

My berninas 707 motor needs to be reconnected on the machine. Can I find a wiring diagram to help me on this?
Thank you bunches
Hi I have just bought a 717 model do you know this type?

I use standard Coats and Clark thread.
Thanks for the video! I am thinking of buying this machine from someone, how much are these worth nowadays? What is a fair price?
They are going for $200 on eBay, but that seems like a lot to me.
Where's the reverse on the Bernna Mnimatic 707?
press the length lever up as far as it will go
