I was wondering if toilet powered by electric or gas cylinders. Plus I’m certain he has his facts wrong you need to dispose of dry ash every few days in regular bin as totally bacteria/odour free. But mild inconvenience compared with virtually all other systems...think you need paper liners too. Nice boat of its type but decor not quite my cup of tea more hotel/holiday look than homely. But everyone different.
Terence Jay £20 for pump out every 10 days so that’s approximately £728 per year for a live aboard plus cost of pump out toilet instigation that’s about £1800….6weeks bit optimistic regarding Cinderella incinerator toilet more like 11 days for 2 people but it’s odourless bacteria free ash to dispose of in bin nothing else
Spot on Dave how the hell did he think he would get away with that, obviously not a beater or he would know can only be used in the North or South not all
An amazing widebeam and by far the NICEST that i have seen on TH-cam and even though i liveaboard a narrowboat my fiancè he won't permit me to feel at home aboard or personalise his nb to make it truly home
Nice boat but certainly too wide with a beam of 10 feet to be able to navigate all the canals in the UK. That is unless along with the bow thrusters she has a hover mode!
And you can't claim VAT back on this boat even if it's your primary residence. The vat exemption rules for boats are quite complex but I'm sure a 10ft widebeam doesn't comply.
Nice video, so can i assume that with a 10 wide boat you can travel up North? As there is a North South divide where you can't take a wide boat up North so i am told? The other option is to get a narrow boat, but i would like to get something a little wider.
From what I’ve heard from other “wide Loaders “ the common practice is to spend a few seasons in the north or the south, and then when it’s time to take it out of the water to reblacken the hull and other refurbishment to go Ahead and have it transferred overland to the opposite system. Often while this is done one hires a narrow boat for a season and uses that to transition the narrow canal until your big Bertha has been delivered
yes you would need a tesla battery pack $10k plus electric drive motor 20k you could never get enough solar panels onto boat to recharge the batteries. Gen set would be about 3 to 5k . The total cost would be around 50k . You would rely on shore power or gen set for recharging
The thing about wide beams is that they are in practice gentrifying the waterways system. When the canal system was saved from closure in the 60s there were next to no broad beams anywhere on the system, and those people who had leisure boats were all narrow (to the extent that many live aboards used old converted working narrowboats. These old timers valued the industrial history and the heritage of the working boat families just as much as they did the scenery and the closeness to nature. Up to the 90s it was the norm for people to buy a "shell" and spend a year or so fitting the boat out. The canals were a place primarily for working class, ordinary people to follow an interest that was affordable. Now we have wide beam boats that cost more than narrowboats - that are bought by people with the wealth to pay others to fit them out (and presumably maintain and dry dock them too) - and most importantly want to be on the water for "life style" choices. Whilst there's no compunction for people to have any connection or interest in the community they are joining - imo (after almost 30 years afloat) the superficial nature of most wide beam live aboards lessens our community. If you want to experience the inland waterways properly, take as much interest in the history of the system and the lives of those who worked it - and that can't properly be done on a boat that can only visit a third of the system. Just my opinion.
@@hugoshotton-oza5701 And therein lies the problem. If it's "meh" to you, stay where you are and don't lessen our community - we really don't need your kind afloat.
It amazes me what they say you can claim the VAT back I have friends who have purchased boats as live aboard s and it's near impossible to claim your vat back it all spans from a old maritime rule
A widebeam, (anything over 6'10" wide) regardless of length, can't do a lot of the Midlands canal system, as this was designed and built for narrowboats. A 6'10" wide 57' is considered fairly universal but there are a couple of bits where I believe even 57' is a squeeze.
Why, why, WHY do the designers insist on putting the sink and stove on opposite sides of the galley! So impractical when it comes to straining vegetables etc. Would be a deal-breaker for me.
Do all narrow boats have a steal hull. Sides included. Couldn't you use wood for the side's, and make it lighter. There's so many wood preservatives. It would never rot 👍❗ Just asking. Detroit, Mich. USA.
Canal boats used to be made of wood, but its not very hard wearing for the rough and tumble of canal life hence the modern use of metals such as Iron Steel and Aluminium.
Why do you refer to a hunk of fabricated wood & metal as `She’, Is that for effect? What if `the boat` wanted to identify as a tray of fish n chips or a shopping trolly. Can we instead please refer to the boat as a Pot Noodle (curry flavour) please?
Yea, color-LED lights feel very early 2000-ish and the stone-tiled wall behind the fireplace is very very 2007-ish. Using these very distinct design elements will make the boat interiors feel aged quite fast.
odd filming. you film the kitchen from the sitting room area and simply talk about the kitchen and the freezer being near the bar stools then you don't actually film around the bathroom or the bedroom with the cameraman filming the tour guide and not the bedroom itself. looks a pleasant enough boat but not showing things because the cameraman is shy is not doing anyone any favours.
Dear gentlemen who make these house boats, because they only make one bedroom? And so much field that make n l dining room and living room, with that wasted space dig a small bedroom
Always shocked at how much space is waster on Wide beams, it's like the designer just gave up? those square corners in the kitchen ? I don't think so. ONE bedroom ? LOL poor design, sorry
Beautiful boat. Great workmanship. 10 out of 10
Nice pilot house! Sure beats standing in the weather(rain, sleet, snow) holding a stick. Wide bodies are so much more livable.
Incinerator toilets are fairly common on Fishing vessels.
An incinerating toilet! First I've seen on any narrowboat-type craft. I know they are expensive, but the convenience! Plus, truly upscale.
A pun. The convenience. HaHa
£2500 for a 'Separett CINDI Family'

Can be either electric or gas.
Wide beams do not fit all the canal systems so a major drawback I’m afraid!
Spot on Dave how the hell did he think he would get away with that, obviously not a beater or he would know can only be used in the North or South not all
Amazing ❤️ 😊
Why don't these boats have a 'murphy bed' ?
Yep this would get stuck even in the newly widened Hurlston lock on the Llangollen canal truly a boat to be restricted to double width locks only. 😥
Great boat would love this one

He won’t LET you?
That doesn’t bode well for your future marriage.
His boat eh - not our boat. Run while you still have time!
come aboard my 60 foot widebeam me lovely and you can personalise it all you want
widebeams cannot access all canals in the UK
Wonderfull 👍
No it's not a lot of the canals will only take a narrow boat.
Fantastic video
Christopher P Thank you 🙏🏻
I really like that boat
Nice boat but certainly too wide with a beam of 10 feet to be able to navigate all the canals in the UK.

*That's what I was concerned about. How much does hover mode cost?*
Wow what a brilliant idea. A hovering broadbeam…forget uniting the waterways of north and south with a link canal just hover …a levitating boat…
Wide beams are so much more livable ;IMO. Surprised I don't see more bow thrusters since under power crafts for any current turns.
And you can't claim VAT back on this boat even if it's your primary residence. The vat exemption rules for boats are quite complex but I'm sure a 10ft widebeam doesn't comply.
Seems to be 60ft x 12ft 6" that complies. I haven't seen a builder's price-list that marks a ten-footer as VAT exempt.
Shoes inside?

Correct, you can only use the southern or northern systems there is no widebeam link canal.
From what I’ve heard from other “wide Loaders “ the common practice is to spend a few seasons in the north or the south, and then when it’s time to take it out of the water to reblacken the hull and other refurbishment to go Ahead and have it transferred overland to the opposite system. Could these be pushed by an electric motor with a battery bank, mucho solar cells and a quiet genset backup ?
yes you would need a tesla battery pack $10k plus electric drive motor 20k you could never get enough solar panels onto boat to recharge the batteries. Gen set would be about 3 to 5k . The total cost would be around 50k . You would rely on shore power or gen set for recharging

How much is that boat?
Why isn’t the steering in the front?
From the stern you can see forwards, from the bow very hard to see aft.
Do we have the price of this beautiful boat please? Thanks.
Check with Bentons but I believe it’s £160k - £165k 👍🏻 and yes it is beautiful 😊
Shaun , thank you , I will.
@@shaunesden as commented upon by others the widebeam is NOT capable of cruising ALL of the canal network sorry shaun
II still think 200,000 thousand in the water,it’s 1500 just to lift in water on thames.
Incinerator toilet, fantastic.
who is the builder.....
Do you build these with solar/Electric motors for quiet , ecosystem operation with enough solar to power the boat?
All the canals in the UK?
No the center section
of the UK canal system
is only large enough
for narrow boats.

shame it's carpeted instead of hardwood. carpeting is gross.

Cost 200,000 thousand with that sort of it out or there abouts
What was the selling price?
Do any Americans ever buy your boats to live on the UK canals?
