The cable broke on my 03 Denali and it looked like it should be a straight forward replacement. Your video clarified things for me (and showed that the replacement is indeed straightforward) and I will be replacing the cable in the morning. Thanks for posting!!!

My cable broke this morning 3/2/2017 as I was getting ready to go to work. All I could think about was how much it was going to cost me to get it replaced. When I came home and looked up a YT video, I came across this video. I have a 2005 Suburban. Other than being close quarters, I think I should be able to do this on my own and save myself some $$$$$!! Thank you for your video. I really appreciate the time you took to make it.

Thanks for putting this video on the net. My parking brake cable broke today while we were at a friends house and I have no clue about fixing cars. I was about to call AAA and then I searched the internet and found your video which showed me enough to figure out how to release the parking brake. After watching your video I am going to try and replace the cable myself. Thanks again!!

Just what I needed to do the job on mine. I was able to get a hand up in there and pinch the fitting at the bracket to release the cable up by the fuse box. From there it was easy. The cable itself needs some manipulating to rotate it into the right position to get a grip on the pinch fitting - that's what takes the most patience.

Grab a wrench that has a closed end. In my case I used a 13mm wrench. Slide the cable through the closed end of the wrench and push your wrench onto the tab and pull on the cable at the same time. It worked on all the tabs I had to do since I removed all my ebrake cables. From the rear brakes to the inside vehicle. I hope I explained this well enough for you all to understand. Cheers....

I have a 94 Buick Century. The parking brake light stays on after I release the parking brake pedal. The switch seems to be okay and it should only come into play to turn on the brake light. The switch is open with the brake pedal released. Is there a relay turning on that light that could be bad? Thanks.

Wish you had one for the S10. My S10 parking brake cable snapped when it was engaged and up on ramps. I couldn't get it to disengage and it was kind of an emergency so I cut the front brake cable. So now I have to replace the handle, the cable AND the front brake cable.
