    I like their boats as they are light and looks good; Like you I am a BIG guy, so the weight limit on the boat has to be up there. I've never fished from a kayak, but I would love to fish out of one.

    Thank you! So glad you mentioned the Pungo because I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Pungo 120 or 125 and the Sandpiper. I'd like the Sandpiper 130, but I do NOT like the seat they use. So, I'd have to go with the Sandpiper 120. Just so you know, your kayak (in the video) looks every bit as good as the other ones you mentioned. I wouldn't have noticed any of the scuffs and dings you mentioned if you hadn't done a close-up. I'll bet those others might have marks of a well-used craft as well. Thanks for the review. I love seeing how well it held up. It's a huge chunk of change to throw down if it ended up being a piece of crap. P.S. I totally support the need for a deck tray or at the very least...a cup holder. So many companies put them at the base of the seat between the legs. Seems like a no-brainer for an almost $2K (as of 2023) kayak.

    thank you...i've got a beat up, poly-ethylene 'yak that I really love...but, I'd love to get something less heavy to tote around. Been thinking about the Equinox or Sitka...but, frankly, your comments on the sandpiper are turning my head. all the best...and, thanks for that nice reminder at the end...we don't have any guaranteed time in this world. i've wasted too much of it already. but, i've never regretted time on the water. Great 5 year review ADK man! I feel better now investing $1900 (CDN) in my new Skylark . Totally agree and wish that eddyline had a place for knick/knacks - I ended up getting a gear lab deck pod to store essential gear.

    I wish Eddyline made it so you could use a dashboard like on my Pungo 120. My next boat is going to be either an Eddyline or a Tsunami 165. Try fitting a Pungo dashboard to it.

    Good review, my man! I'm glad you still like it. I'm eyeing up the Sitka LT right now - they're well worth the money. I've been paddling my 12' Perception for 20+ years and it's certainly time to upgrade.
    Regarding a cup holder, Contigo makes great spill proof travel mugs that don't break the bank. It'll certainly work for your morning coffee (I watched your 1 year review), but maybe not for those sunset brews.

    Enjoyed your video. Went and visited the Eddyline website. Very nice kayaks. Someday it would certainly be nice to get one of these. At the present my husband and I would like to know if you had any suggestions for a beginner's canoe for two. We most likely will not do any carrying from one portage to another, just remain in one lake/pond. We won't need anything extravagant but would like something of decent quality that would keep us afloat 😊 Thank you.

    So I have a tank of a canoe, been looking to get a lightweight kayak. Looked at the lightweight materials and I'm not going to spend 3 or 4 grand. Interested to know why you choose this brand? I hadn't heard of it and have been wanting a swift or northwind or something similar but too expensive. I might spring for a middle of the road one like this, granted $1,400 is a lot of money also. My tank of a canoe was $300 used, $500 after I added the trolling motor etc. I did screw some cupholders in mine lol. I also had a swifty, was a good starter for me. Ill have to check out eddyline, looks great!

    Where in the Adirondacks? I used to go to Willsboro ALL THE time. Was married to a local girl up there. How does that hold up to bumping off of rocks. I paddle in Michigan now and the rivers can be shallow and we can end up bouncing of the bottom and rocks.

    • @ADKMan
      @ADKMan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m in the north west Adirondacks, my daughter actually lives in Willsboro. I’ve been banged rocks, some stumps, and one time got stuck on a stump for the bottom of the kayak flexed pretty good, and that held up! I wouldn’t take it down rapids where you’re going to slam into rocks but scraping on a rock every now and then it’s held up pretty well.

    My wife and I were debating the Pungo 120 and the Eddyline Skylark 12 and partially based on your review we pulled the trigger on a pair of Skylarks. Anxiously waiting delivery to the store in a week or so. Should be a good upgrade from our 10.5 foot rotomolded kayaks we bought from Costco 5+ years ago that have served us extremely well. Any good maps of easier to reach kayaking sites in the Adirondacks?

    Thanks for this honest review. I recently went whitewater paddling in Taos, NM and the padding bug bit me really hard. I am taking my 3rd expedition in Browns Canyon on 8/19/23 in Buena Vista at River Runners in Colorado. I still think a Sea Eagle explorer 380 will b my 1st purchase. But I want a hard shell also, and I’m very impressed/interested in Eddyline’s boats. They seem like a dream boat, not to heavy, durable, and great looking. Your boat looks fantastic after 5 years, I am sold. My 1st hard shell will b an Eddyline. Thank you for your review 🤙😎
