Just bought another CD of the Doc, I used to play that cassette tape back in 1990, but don't know what happened to that cassette tape.
R.I.P. to my friend who introduced me to N.W.A. and I grew up with hood niggas who listened to Ice-T, BDP, Eric B. and Rakim so that's why I heard that music. Hip hop culture is so big it made it all the way up here to Canada. I heard of people in Serbia and even Russia listen to rap music, that's dope!
Yes! D.O.C. was hard as he'll. That helter skelter album was crazy like he came back from the dead with that crazy voice. Wish he was known way more dudes a legend

Doc is one of the best writers in rap/hip hop history. Was a damn good artist as well!
I remember hearing his album in 1989 my older brother bought it on 12inch vynil in 1989. I had him easily as the top MC from the westcoast no question . If your a real hiphop fan you know that experience when you hear something so dope it was just unbelievable. I had DOC ranked right with Rakim ,& Kane, & G-Rap, KRS-1. To me the DOC was in their category at that time he was the total package. He had the lyrical creativity, the delivery & the voice he was definitely a top 5 no debate. That first album was not only ahead of it's time ,but it withstood the test of time. In 89 that sound was like 10 years ahead from a production stand point. Dr. Dre is known for always reinvented himself. He never stays with the same sound. Dre was at some of his best production with DOC's album at that time.

I was drunk at a party in the San Fernando Valley back in the 90's and the D.O.C. walked in the backyard and I couldn't believe it. He was cool and really friendly and I even asked him if I called my homie in Florida that was a big fan if he would say what's up to him and he did. Funky enough is still my favorite rap song of all time!

Now, looking back at N.W.A. in 2022, losing his voice before he became a megastar, was the biggest blessing in this man's life! 🙏😣
