- My holiday lighting display has been running on ESP8266's with independent power supplies for the last year. This year, as part of expanding the system I dropped for a Dig-Quad from Quinled. MAN, what a difference that makes in the ease of setup. My wiring is simpler, control is simpler, very impressed!
In this video I walk you through updating the WLED software version and some of the specifics of the hardware setup and show you the initial points of configuration of the software.

My first holiday season using wled and 2 dig-quads. I do not have permanent lighting and will be taking down the lights soon. The dig-quads work very well. I was having trouble using the WLED software on my Iphone. Ended up downloading an app called wled-native. Worked much better for me. Anyway, the lights looked great and it was fun to create different presets. Good luck. I enjoy the content of your channel.
The WLED app stinks on the iPhone, I agree! I just pop through IP into Safari and use the web app from the Dig Quad which works very well. I’ll check out WLED-native
I lost my wled pop-up in my wifi settings? Any hits on how to retrieve it?
Is your WLED configured as a standalone or connected to your local WiFi? I’m guessing it’s standalone - if it does connect on your phone to the WLED WiFi, open a browser to 4.3.2.1
Great job on all you videos they very helpfull . can you please provided a link for the Dig -Quad

Thanks for the vid. Question: how does the extra string/channel present itself in the WLED app? My aim is to be able to control two strings of LEDs independently from one single digquad.
The digquad shows them as one giant string, sequencing from channel 1 to 2 and so on. To control them independently you create segments in the WLED app. My Quad has 5 segments defined. One per door, one per peak and then the roofline
Hi! Just a clarifying question since you didn't show your updated wiring configuration...
Did the Dig Quad allow you to eliminate one of the power supplies from your setup?
Yep! It dropped it down to a single power supply and I was able to reduce the box size to a smaller enclosure
Great video. I am running version 13. If I was to update, will I lose all my settings and specifically my presets? I would hate to have to try and create those again. Thank you.
Hey Jamie! When I updated it maintained all my settings, presets and timers. So as long as the update doesn’t fail you should be good to go
On the Updates and Security page of the interface is an option to save your config to a local file just in case
youtube needs a second like button so I can add one for the dad joke at the end 😆
There’s one at the end of each video 🤣
Why is the sound crackling
I'm not sure why it occasionally crackled on that video - something with the upload maybe?
Did you not see all the TH-cam videos going through the setup?
Everybody brings a different perspective and nuance to videos like this.. Especially when versions and options change over time.
