    Very important. LISTEN TO THIS... This Blower resistor is not grounded properly. Behind the air box is a bolt with 5 or 6 ground wires all hooked to this one bolt. Chevy didn't remove the paint, and there is no star washer there. After I replaced two resistors, I cleaned this ground, ...... No problem sense ... works great. ALSO behind the battery box is another ground, same thing with five wires to it, and this one is the ground for all the pass code stuff, after I fixed that, seems my colorado starts every time 2007... I found this from another brother on utube, and thought to pass it on .... tell me if it works for you. Stan from Hawaii

    Glad I came across this video. One of our Chevy Colorado work trucks is having this exact issue. I too own a 2011 Colorado, but am having a different issue. The HVAC air inlet valve/door thing makes a knocking sound when it is in the closing position with the re-circulation button turned off. Not sure if the re-circulation switch has gone bad or if it's the HVAC Air Inlet door actuator that has gone bad. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    What's the next thing to check if what you said doesn't work? I checked fuses and relays. My guess is it would be the blower itself.

    • @AlexanderHunting

      How can you check whether the blower fan itself is good/no good? I mean, my first thought is to hook a positive/negative wire to it but is there a way to do that? It looks like a wire harness connects to it.@@Singleturbocobra

      Ground in the airbox...

  • @joshbeverly
    @joshbeverly ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well, this worked for about a month until it smoked the connector again. What is the root cause and how do I address that?

    • @Singleturbocobra
      @Singleturbocobra  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe the blower motor pulls to much amperage for the factory gauge wire.I feel if the connector wires were alot thicker they could handle more amperage

      Ground is effed up behind the airbox.

    • @pgh1all1
      @pgh1all1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KM-oi9ks I put a buss bar mounted to the inner fender well and attached each wire individually. It's still best to replace the resistor and short harness for a complete job. I replaced the ground with the buss and it worked for awhile then worked only on high. I then got the harness and resistor kit and now it's fixed. This is a very prevalent problem on Canyons and Colorado's. Bad ground design as well as improper wire gauge. Typical GM cutting corners......again!

      I’m not an expert but it sounds like with a lot of these trucks there are also grounding issues from a “splice pack” which for the hvac is by the air filter, under the hood near headlight on passenger side. If the ground is corroded it might be the source of the repeated burnouts? Again, I’m no expert, but look up your vehicle and “splice pack” and that might solve it.
