I just picked up this watch while in BKK. Mine turned out to be #684 out of 1000. Store gave me 10% off the retail price, and then another 5% off VAT once I got to the airport. Really loving this watch! while I always respected Alpinist, never really craved to add one to my rotation previously; I really just wasn’t a huge fan of the cathedral style hand for the normal versions. This one feels modern and sharp, and OHHH… that dial!! 😅 🤩 😻 Haven’t tired of just… staring at it… EDIT: and just FWIW for anyone still interested in this watch, I saw it available for sale at more than one store in Bangkok; so they are definitely still out there…
You can get hold of these. I saw a picture on line and instantly wanted one. I searched around in JDM stores and found it. I feel like you pay more for it (tax and postage), but if you’re anything like me, you’ll be willing to pay a bit more if it’s what you really want. Annoying thing is that my wife says I can’t have it until my birthday next month😢
Beautiful watch from Seiko. There are too many “editions”. So it is very difficult to choose & decide. I think Seiko should improve the 6R movement in terms of accuracy. There is room for improvement. ❤
Really beautiful watch that I'd love to own! The only negative for me that it seems as if the case for this 3-hander could be 1.5-2mm thinner. But I realize it's based on the previous Alpinist design and there are probably limitations inherent to the movement.
man i wish they did not limit these watches just to particular country etc. I find it absolutely annoying this is not the first time i see a watch from Seiko that i did not even know it exists because its made for some specific country region. Soooo annoying
i love the shiny lime green colour but i dont know about the pattern. i feel it makes it kind of look basic and cheap. right now i still think the Ginza is still the champion of the Alpinist
Never been a fan of the alpinist , dont like cathedral hands and it looked a bit too vintage in my eyes but this is fantastic, a move in the right direction!
I think a solid caseback would have been nice, Seiko could have embossed it with a Bamboo Branch/Stalk, wishful thinking on my part. The color is quite nice.
@@lens-ep4pg I'm not 100% sure as I don't have anyone to test it on, but I've removed 3 links, and have it fitting a little looser than normal to account for temperature fluctuations.
I bought an SPB249J recently here in Sydney, and it fits my 8-inch wrist . The shop assistant advised me that 3 extra links were available for no extra charge, should a wish . I paid Au $862 = $570 US. The watch runs - 3 seconds a day . 100% happy .
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Bracelet on this watch is really disappointing at this price point. What makes it worse is the bright green dial doesn't go well with leather straps and the case looks a tad too thick to pair it with a nato. I would be curious to see it on a green alligator leather strap. Or something similar. At least it has sapphire crystal so that dial is going to stay good looking.
When we live in a multinational, multicultural world, why is there so many JDM only watches? Do these watch companies think the outside world doesnt deserve the choice?
That is the ugliest watch box on the market, not to mention the color. Gross. Where are you going to store that big tall muddy thing. Whoever designed it should get fired from Seiko. ASAP!!! Nice lemony limey looking watch though...
@@cereus7421 My apologies. I don't tend to include these details in my unboxing and first impressions, but when I do a full review of the watch I will have these included. Diameter is 38mm, lug to lug 46.2mm, sapphire crystal, 32880 baht.

Very nice dial, I would probably consider a swap with my unworn ginza alpinist for one of these if the opportunity arose 👍
