Oh my lord... My favourite is a Steamed sponge PUDDING... done properly just like my mum and grannies always did... I'm in need of comfort today.. I have a cold,, and they say feed a cold don't they.. 😂👌💫Hope you are well GEOFF 💋
Hi Henrietta. You can't beat a nice sponge pudding. I hope you are soon feeling better. Yes, feed the cold, and then feed it some more just to be on the safe side.
Oh that looks like a very nice and comforting sweet on a cool night. I think anyone would love a nice serving of that as a sweet treet! A good one to have on the list of treats to make for the ones you care about... Hey, I care about me.... Yes please I will have some please...Thank you for this one Geoff.
I love a steamed pudding. I've got 1 and 2 litre tins with lids, which save all the fuss of pleating paper & foil 😃 Made this apple one last week (from a Mary Berry recipe) and you're right about the basin size - I opted for the 2 litre tin and it worked perfectly
HI Patience. I think you could use your steamer. I considered using mine, but I wasn't sure how long I would have to steam the pudding for. It may be that there wouldn't be a significant difference in cooking time. A skewer test will let you know when it it done.
Hi Geoff, beautiful steamed sponge…..over the years I’ve come across many, many errors in recipes in either magazines or books…. I make some Dutch Spice Biscuits every Christmas, I got the original recipe from a Christmas Heaven magazine back in 2014, once the dough is made it said to take TEAspoons of the batter to form each biscuit, after a few burnt biscuits 😳 I realised it should have said TABLEspoons, plus I was confused at the fact I was getting 3 times the amount of biscuits the recipe suggested! That simple error really gave me a whole lot of trouble…..I wish I could remember the name of the book, it was 1,000 bakes of something or other, but you wouldn’t have believed the amount of errors that was in that ONE book, I ended up recycling it, I wouldn’t even pass it on because it would have been a nightmare if anyone followed a lot of the recipes, thankfully it was one I read rather than USED!…..looks like OLIVE magazine has done a typo error to me too😖. …….hope you’re well Geoff, thanks again……love Jan xx❤xx
Hi Jan. Thanks very much. I have had several recipes over the years where there were errors. Even today I watched a Mary Berry video, for my next recipe, where she gave the oven temperature 20 degrees celsius higher than the written recipe on BBC Food. Years ago I bought a book from Le Cordon Bleu cookery school, but gave up on that after finding two glaring errors.

Hi Graham. I haven't seen the Mary Berry recipe, I will have to check it out.
This looks so nice and moist. I’m going to try this in my Instant Pot. I’ll let you know how it turns out. J.
HI Jean. thanks very much. I saw the photo of your pudding. It looked amazing.
Hi Geoff that looked delicious. What apples did you use?
Hi Diane. I used Pink Lady. It was my first time trying them. They tasted very nice.
Good morning Geoff.
Good Morning Mary.
Hi Geoff, could I use a steamer for this? It's a stove top one .

Love apple with sponge. You had a haircut Geoff 😊
Hi Liver Bird. Oh yes, it was a snip.
