It seems every other TH-cam cook has been trying to get louder and more extravagant. Throughout all the lunatics with insane editing and jumping out of windows whilst trying to cook a gruyere souffle, here's this guy called Geoff very calmly showing us all how to make a fantastic-looking mushroom pate. 10/10 looks fantastic, great delivery.
Hi Vansuddles. I did try jumping out of a window, and dancing too. But it just caused a larger persistant ache in my ageing hips. So I am stuck with just cooking. I am glad you enjoy the channel.
Great recipe... Geoff definitely do this.. @Neil will. Love it..I'm sure, 🍄Christmas is flying towards us.. Always a busy time... Although we have a very quiet time on the day..now... 🎄🤶🎅We see everyone before.. This pate'will be a lovely ..treat thankyou tke care my lovely 🎄🤶🎅
Hi Henrietta. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Christmas is almost here. I made my Last Minute Mincemeat Christmas Cake today. Mince pies and sausage rolls to make before the day. I will have a nice relaxing time too.
Geoff that looks wonderful!! I am going to make that to take to a Christmas party that I am attending along with some sliced toasted baguettes. Perfect starter! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
It's good with sherry as the wine ingredient too! I make it without garlic (it gives me problems) and have also added a bit of cream sometimes. It's lush all round! Thank you for sharing.
Hi Geoff, I have made this several times over the years. My recipe is very close to yours. It’s delicious! Any extra that hadn’t been eaten we slathered our toast in! Fabulous breakfast! 😋😊⛄️🎅🏻❄️🎄🇨🇦 = 🥶 Lol
I'm sure this is great as a dip, but I'm also imagining it'd be good on sauteed green beans or asparagus, or steak or chicken, or even a burger. Thank you, Geoff, :)
Nice job Geoff, but I think I'd be making it a a bit finer, if no other reason than to emulate the chicken liver pâté. I'll be giving it a go for this Christmas.
HI Sandy. I have kept mine now for 4 days and it is still good. I think probably up to a week is as long as it will keep, stored in the fridge. You should be able to freeze it too and it should defrost nicely.
Small correction. For the mushrooms (in this case), a kilogram of mushrooms would be 2.2 pounds rather than 1.2 pounds. Mushroomy goodness! Thanks for the video! Might give this a go!
Hi Michael. Thanks. I had already noticed my error and put a correction in the description below the video. The written recipe in my blog also shows the correct imperial weight.
M+ s used to do a really nice vegetarian pate.....thst didnt include mushrooms ( im allergic). But stopped doing it 😭 ive tried to find others but all seem to include them 🤢 any ideas on variations .....would something like betroot or a root veg work...never tried because i dint want to poison anyone 🤣
HI Rachel. Lentils and walnuts seem to pair together nicely as pate. I see there are several recipes available for that. Don't worry about poisoning people, that's half the fun, LOL - the stories I could tell.
Hi Pim. It is true that about 7% of the UK population is vegetarian. But is some countries the percentage is very much higher. However I didn't make this video specifically for vegetarians. I made it as something that I would like to eat.

Not only is it void of that over stimulation nonsense but he gives metric and imperial as he goes.
Oh, Geoff, mushrooms are my favorite things in all of God's great creations. Thanks for another great recipe.
Hi Spiderbirdie. You are very welcome.
This is a wonderful recipe. It really must taste delicious and you have given several ways to make it. Thanks for the video.
Thanks very much. It is delcious.
It"s healthy and delicious ,. Thanks so much for your sharing ❤
Hi Huong Binh Nguyen. You are very welcome.
I'm so happy to have found this. Thankyou for that simple but delicious looking recipe Geoff.
Hi Penny. You are most welcome.

Hi VeeVeeVeeV. You are very welcome.
Thanks Geoff, I will certainly make this at Christmas 🎄🎄🎄☃️☃️🙏
HI Linda. I hope you enjoy it.
Geoff that looks wonderful!! I am going to make that to take to a Christmas party that I am attending along with some sliced toasted baguettes. Perfect starter! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Hi Timothy. Thanks very much. I hope it is enjoyed at the party.
This pate will be on the menu for Christmas. Thank you for sharing
Hi Liliane. I do hope you enjoy it.
Thanks. Will try to make this at Christmas. It looks easy enough ( for someone with my culinary skills!) and also is vegetarian. 😊 😊
Hi Anne. I do hope you enjoy it.
Good morning Geoff.
Good Morning Mary.
It's good with sherry as the wine ingredient too! I make it without garlic (it gives me problems) and have also added a bit of cream sometimes. It's lush all round! Thank you for sharing.
Hi Nyctophora. Yes sherry certainly works very well. As does a little cream or ricotta.
Hi Geoff, do you know how long this will keep in fridge, as it makes quite a lot. X K
Hi Kathy. It will keep in the fridge for a good few days. However you can easily reduce the recipe to make a smaller amount.
Hi Geoff,
I have made this several times over the years. My recipe is very close to yours. It’s delicious! Any extra that hadn’t been eaten we slathered our toast in! Fabulous breakfast!
😋😊⛄️🎅🏻❄️🎄🇨🇦 = 🥶 Lol
Hi Judith. My sister just suggested that I could use some to make a mushroom ravioli too.
That’s a great idea! 😋😊
I could use this for my individual beef wellington
Hi Coolerkin. Yes that would work very well indeed.
I'm sure this is great as a dip, but I'm also imagining it'd be good on sauteed green beans or asparagus, or steak or chicken, or even a burger. Thank you, Geoff, :)
HI Magdala. You are very welcome.
Nice ❤️... have you ever made a lentil loaf ?
Hi Colleen. No I haven't done that.
@@geoffsbakingblogI've been looking at them, they look good
Nice one Geoff, something else to do over the festive period👍 how long will this store in the fridge for Geoff?
Hi Mark. Thanks. I am not too sure how long it will store, but certainly 4 or 5 days at least I think.
A nice Muenster cheese could be a fantastic melted in.
HI Brad. That might be very good.
Nice job Geoff, but I think I'd be making it a a bit finer, if no other reason than to emulate the chicken liver pâté.
I'll be giving it a go for this Christmas.
HI Mac Cat. Thanks. I do say in the video, and on my blog, that you can process it is finely or as coarsely as you wish.
How long will it keep?

@geoffsbakingblog oh please do 🤣 thanks for that idea...I haven't seen those will have to Google again
And if you wanted to do vegetarian/vegan burger patties you just need to add some oatmeal and fry them
HI S D. That would be nice.
On the ingredients, 1 kg of mushrooms is 2.2 lbs, not 1.2 lbs. I hope this helps.
Hi Nancy. Yes, thanks. I already noticed my error and put a note below the video to say that. In the written recipe on my blog it is correct.
Geoff, 1kg is 2.2 pounds, not 1.2
HI Robin. You are correct. What a silly mistake to make. I will correct the recipe on my blog and put a comment under the TH-cam video.
@@geoffsbakingblogI did not mean to be critical, Geoff, I just thought you might like to correct it.
@@MrRobinGoodhand OH yes, I am very grateful. I do have a habit of making silly mistakes, so I need to be prompted to correct. LOL.
There are only 3-5 % of the people who are vegatarian, so don't bother to cook for them
